Diamondbacks | Archie Bradley has no pain

Tue, 05 May 2015 11:30:02 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Archie Bradley (face) was pain-free while throwing a bullpen session Monday, May 4, and he said the swelling in his face is almost gone.

Fantasy Tip: Bradley ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) is expected to miss two starts after taking a liner off his face. Robbie Ray ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) is starting in his place against the Colorado Rockies tonight, but he should be considered a very weak FantasyScore play.

Diamondbacks | Robbie Ray starting Tuesday

Fri, 01 May 2015 18:49:38 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Robbie Ray is expected to start against the Colorado Rockies Tuesday, May 5, and he will likely make two starts in place of SP Archie Bradley (face).

Fantasy Tip: Ray has struggled in Double-A Mobile this season, and it is hard to expect much out of him when he starts for the Diamondbacks. Avoid him at FantasyScore.

Diamondbacks | Archie Bradley discusses injuries

Wed, 29 Apr 2015 14:44:27 -0700

Updating a previous report, Arizona Diamondbacks SP Archie Bradley (face) said his teeth are the most sore Wednesday, April 29, and that he has a slight sinus fracture. Bradley noted he expects to return after his 15-day disabled list stint, and he could pitch through the minor sinus fracture.

Fantasy Tip: Bradley ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) is worth stashing in the majority of formats. Vidal Nuno could start in place of Bradley, and Nuno might be worth a stream in seasonal leagues or a spot start in FantasyScore contests. Nuno has decent numbers at Triple-A Reno with a 3.60 ERA, a 1.20 WHIP and 26 K's in 25 innings.

Diamondbacks | Archie Bradley to DL

Wed, 29 Apr 2015 09:39:57 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Archie Bradley (face) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday, April 29.

Fantasy Tip: The move isn't a surprise despite the good news that he didn't have a concussion or facial fractures. He could miss a month, though, as he'll need time to stretch out again. Vidal Nuno is probably the most likely option to replace him with Allen Webster (shoulder) on the 7-day DL and Randall Delgado in the bullpen. Nuno has decent numbers at Triple-A Reno with a 3.60 ERA, a 1.20 WHIP and 26 K's in 25 innings. He might be worth a spot start on FantasyScore.

Diamondbacks | Archie Bradley appears in the clear

Wed, 29 Apr 2015 05:47:10 -0700

Updating previous reports, Arizona Diamondbacks SP Archie Bradley (face) does not have a concussion or facial fractures.

Fantasy Tip: Bradley ($4,300, 8.6% of your cap) is very unlikely to make his next start, but he seems to have avoided major injury. Keep an eye on his prognosis and he'll be back in the low-end starter mix on FantasyScore.

Diamondbacks | Archie Bradley tweets aftermath

Tue, 28 Apr 2015 22:53:48 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Archie Bradley (face) posted a photo with the right side of his face swollen after being hit by a line drive in his start Tuesday, April 28, against the Colorado Rockies.

Fantasy Tip: Trainers said he was lucky it wasn't a couple of inches higher or lower, so it appears he escaped major damage. Still, his status for his next scheduled start is up in the air, so FantasyScore owners should avoid him until he can prove his health and that he is not gun shy.

Diamondbacks | Archie Bradley hit in the face

Tue, 28 Apr 2015 19:10:52 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Archie Bradley (face) left his start Tuesday, April 28, against the Colorado Rockies after being hit in the face with a line drive. He left to a standing ovation with a towel over his face, and he went immediately to the clubhouse.

Fantasy Tip: The extent of Bradley's injuries are not yet known, and we'll certainly keep you up to date. It's hard to imagine he would be able to make his next scheduled start, but we saw Cleveland's Carlos Carrasco hit by a comebacker in the face earlier in the season and he made his next start so you never know. Stay tuned.

Diamondbacks | Archie Bradley set to start Saturday

Mon, 06 Apr 2015 14:29:06 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Archie Bradley will start against the Los Angeles Dodgers Saturday, April 11, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Not only does Bradley ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) draw a potent lineup, but Clayton Kershaw is scheduled to be the opposing starter Saturday, too. Bradley should be a considered a low-priced flier for his first start, and finishing with a win will be difficult. It is likely best to spend up for a more reliable arm.

Diamondbacks | Archie Bradley named fifth starter

Fri, 03 Apr 2015 08:48:34 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Archie Bradley was named the fifth starter by the club.

Fantasy Tip: The Trevor Cahill trade opened a spot for the top-flight prospect. At $3,000 (6.0% of your cap), Bradley makes an excellent low-end flyer on FantasyScore when he pitches.

Diamondbacks | Archie Bradley still a rotation option

Thu, 02 Apr 2015 10:57:43 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Archie Bradley is still a candidate for the starting rotation, according to manager Chip Hale. Bradley could also be used in long relief.

Fantasy Tip: Bradley was one of the top prospects in baseball before an elbow injury last season. At $3,000 (6.0% of your cap), he'd be worth a flyer on FantasyScore. It's worth mentioning that chief baseball officer Tony La Russa had a propensity to ease top prospects into their careers via the bullpen as a manager. Bradley would have no fantasy value in long relief.
