Indians | Francisco Lindor has streak snapped

Sat, 16 Jul 2016 22:52:10 -0700

Cleveland Indians SS Francisco Lindor was hitless in five at-bats with two strikeouts Saturday, July 16, against the Minnesota Twins to snap his seven-game hitting streak.

Fantasy Tip: The All-Star remains a must-start across all fantasy formats and DFS play despite the hitless evening. Lindor has managed two or more games without a hit on just seven occasions this season, so fantasy owners shouldn't expect him to go cold. He hasn't had more than three hitless games in a row at any point this season.

Wed, 06 Jul 2016 09:41:17 -0700

Cleveland Indians SS Francisco Lindor is hitting .320 with 21 homers in 160 games since July 7, 2015 after he struggled out of the gate in his first 20 games.

Fantasy Tip: Lindor is in the mix of the new era of young studs at shortstop, and he remains a high-end option in fantasy.

Indians | Jason Kipnis, Tyler Naquin resting

Sun, 03 Jul 2016 08:24:18 -0700

Cleveland Indians 2B Jason Kipnis and OF Tyler Naquin are receiving the day off against Toronto Blue Jays SP J.A. Happ Sunday, July 3. INF Jose Ramirez is playing second base and batting second, while SS Francisco Lindor is back in the lineup as the No. 3 hitter. In addition, C Yan Gomes will start behind the plate and bat sixth, OF Abraham Almonte will bat seventh and play center field and 3B Juan Uribe (wrist) will play the hot corner and bat eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez and Lindor are viable options in all formats but Gomes is just 2-for-17 over the past week and is 1-for-7 in his career versus Happ, so he should be avoided this afternoon. Almonte was projected to be the club's regular center fielder entering 2016 but was forced to serve an 80-game suspension after testing positive for the drug Boldenone during spring training. He could push Tyler Naquin for regular playing time at the position going forward. Uribe should be viewed as nothing more than an inexpensive flier in DFS.

Indians | Juan Uribe leaves with wrist injury

Sat, 02 Jul 2016 12:42:16 -0700

Cleveland Indians 3B Juan Uribe (wrist) left the game against the Toronto Blue Jays in the sixth inning Saturday, July 2, after getting hit by a pitched ball. INF Jose Ramirez moved over from shortstop to replace him at the hot corner, with SS Francisco Lindor entering the game to play shortstop.

Fantasy Tip: Uribe was 0-for-2 with an RBI before leaving Saturday's game. The severity of his injury is unknown at this point, so keep checking back occasionally for updates on his status. If Uribe is forced to miss an extended period of time, expect Ramirez to see the bulk of the playing time at third base.

Indians | Cleveland resting two players

Sat, 02 Jul 2016 08:18:40 -0700

Cleveland Indians SS Francisco Lindor and C Yan Gomes are not in the starting lineup against Toronto Blue Jays SP Marco Estrada Saturday, July 2. SS Jose Ramirez will start at shortstop, while 3B Juan Uribe will start at third base and is batting seventh. C Chris Gimenez will start at catcher and is batting ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Uribe has at least one hit in seven of his last 10 games and has five home runs and eight RBI during that span. He should be a decent starting option in daily fantasy leagues. Gimenez is hitting only .200 in limited playing time this season and is not a strong option.

Indians | Francisco Lindor has three-hit game

Sat, 18 Jun 2016 19:52:17 -0700

Cleveland Indians SS Francisco Lindor went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI Saturday, June 18, against the Chicago White Sox, raising his average to .311.

Fantasy Tip: A lot of talking heads expected a step backwards for Lindor this season after he posted giant numbers in 2015, as many felt that production would be unsustainable. He is humming along with a .311 average, 35 RBIs and a .369 on-base percentage, all better than his season a year ago. He has emerged as a Top 5 fantasy option at his position, and a stud across all formats and DFS play.

Indians | Francisco Lindor takes a seat

Sat, 11 Jun 2016 16:17:41 -0700

Cleveland Indians SS Francisco Lindor is out of the lineup Saturday, June 11, with SS Jose Ramirez hitting third.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez is hitting .281 this month and .305 on the year. He's a midrange option against Matt Shoemaker tonight.

Indians | Francisco Lindor shows off power

Sat, 04 Jun 2016 22:55:05 -0700

Cleveland Indians SS Francisco Lindor homered and hit two doubles Saturday, June 4, in a 7-1 win over the Kansas City Royals.

Fantasy Tip: Lindor hasn't shown much power this season, as this was just his fifth homer of the year. However, Lindor's definitely showing signs of getting it in terms of his batting average (.308) and slugging (.439). Lindor should be played in all formats.
