Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 1B C.J. Cron is out of the lineup Saturday, June 25, with 1B Jefry Marte hitting fifth.

Fantasy Tip: Marte has some pop and is a low-end consideration against lefty Dillon Overton in his first start in the majors.

Angels | C.J. Cron enjoying an uptick

Tue, 21 Jun 2016 23:07:17 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 1B C.J. Cron went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Tuesday, June 21, against the Houston Astros. He has a total of five RBIs over his past six games.

Fantasy Tip: Cron is 8-for-19 (.421) over his past six outings to raise his average from .249 to .265 since June 14. He is a solid play in most AL-only fantasy leagues and as a value play in DFS.

Angels | C.J. Cron, Daniel Nava on the bench

Sun, 19 Jun 2016 10:44:22 -0700

Fantasy Tip: Marte has at least one hit in seven of his last nine games and has seven RBI during that span. He should be a decent starting option in AL-only leagues and some daily fantasy leagues.

Angels | C.J. Cron back in the lineup

Sat, 18 Jun 2016 12:19:48 -0700

Los Angeles Angels 1B C.J. Cron is in the lineup at first base and batting fifth against Oakland Athletics SP Andrew Triggs on Saturday, June 18. C Carlos Perez is also starting behind the plate for the first time in three games and will hit eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Given the fact that Cron has yet to homer and has only five RBI in June, it is difficult to recommend him outside of very deep mixed or AL-only leagues despite the fact he is batting .290 this month. Perez has been a serviceable second catcher in two-catcher leagues at certain points the season, but he's only hitting .132 this month. DFS owners can avoid this duo for the foreseeable future.

Angels | C.J. Cron out against Oakland

Fri, 17 Jun 2016 15:08:48 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 1B C.J. Cron is not in the starting lineup Friday, June 17. 1B Jefry Marte is serving as the designated hitter and is batting fifth against Oakland Athletics SP Kendall Graveman.

Fantasy Tip: Marte has hit well for the Angels at a clip of .333/.364/.714, but keep in mind he's had just 42 at-bats. His four home runs on the season have already matched his total in all of 2015 in 33 games. Marte is a low-end deep sleeper in daily formats against the A's and Graveman tonight.

Angels | C.J. Cron drives in three runs

Wed, 15 Jun 2016 23:27:38 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 1B C.J. Cron went 3-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and three RBIs Wednesday, June 15, against the Minnesota Twins.

Fantasy Tip: Cron needed a game like this, as he entered just 6-for-25 (.240) with a two doubles and two RBIs in his first 10 games in the month of June, and he hadn't had a multi-hit game since May 31. He is a decent play in deeper AL-only fantasy leagues and a solid mid-tier option in DFS when he starts.

Angels | Mike Trout back in lineup

Mon, 13 Jun 2016 16:12:30 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Mike Trout (thumb) is back in the starting lineup and is serving as the designated hitter and batting third against Minnesota Twins SP Ricky Nolasco Monday, June 13. OF Shane Robinson is starting in center field and is batting ninth. Also, 1B C.J. Cron will start on the bench.

Fantasy Tip: Get Trout back into all starting lineups immediately. He remains one of the best all-around outfielders in the game and is hitting a cool .309/.415/.543 with 13 home runs, 44 RBI and nine stolen bases. Robinson is a desperation low-end outfield pick in daily formats while hitting ninth.

Angels | C.J. Cron out again

Fri, 10 Jun 2016 16:11:44 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 1B C.J. Cron is not in the starting lineup again Friday, June 10. 1B Jefry Marte is starting at first base and is hitting fifth against Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber.

Fantasy Tip: Marte has homered in back-to-back games and is hitting .375 (9-for-24) with three long balls and six RBI on the season. However, keep expectations in check since he has a career .250/.310/.519 slash line and only seven home runs in two seasons. He's a weak daily pick and carries only fleeting short-term value in the deepest of AL leagues.
