The Chicago White Sox acquired OF Adam Eaton from the Arizona Diamondbacks as part of a three-team trade Tuesday, Dec. 10. The White Sox sent SP Hector Santiago to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. The Angels also acquired SP Tyler Skaggs from the Diamondbacks in exchange for OF Mark Trumbo.
Fantasy Tip: First and foremost, the trade of Santiago likely means Chris Sale isn't going anywhere. Eaton is a high-energy type that should fit nicely in the outfield alongside Avisail Garcia and Dayan Viciedo. Eaton loses some intrigue moving to U.S. Cellular Field, a place that will sap what's left of his already limited power stroke.

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim acquired SP Tyler Skaggs from the Arizona Diamondbacks and SP Hector Santiago from the Chicago White Sox Tuesday, Dec. 10. The Angels sent OF Mark Trumbo to the Diamondbacks and OF Adam Eaton was sent from Arizona to Chicago.
Fantasy Tip: The Halos were desperate for starting rotation help, and Skaggs and Santiago should be expected to fill out the starting five for next year. Skaggs is still young and has time to develop, but his prospect hype may leave him a tad overrated. Santiago appears to be the better catch, as he's pitched much better as a starter than reliever. The move to a more friendly pitcher's environment will help both, too.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have acquired OF Mark Trumbo from the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Tuesday, Dec. 10, in a three-team deal that also sent OF Adam Eaton to the Chicago White Sox and SPs Hector Santiago and Tyler Skaggs to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
Fantasy Tip: Trumbo's 30-homer power will play nicely in the desert, but he doesn't make enough contact to sustain a helpful batting average. It's feast or famine for him with his strikeout rate approaching 30 percent. His addition and the loss of Adam Eaton will allow Gerardo Parra to move into a starter role in center field.

The Toronto Blue Jays are interested in trading for Chicago White Sox 2B Gordon Beckham. Left field and starting pitching are other areas of need heading into the offseason. Beckham is eligible for arbitration this winter and is under club control through the 2015 season. The Blue Jays also may try to pry SPs Hector Santiago or John Danks away from the White Sox in addition to Beckham. Toronto could have more than $20 million to spend this offseason. The White Sox are believed to be interested in Ps Aaron Sanchez or Marcus Stroman.

Chicago White Sox SP Hector Santiago has an ERA of 4.55 over his first three innings, and a 3.13 ERA from innings four through six. He has been searching for a solution to his early-game woes, and he and pitching coach Don Cooper decided to move his bullpen session up one day closer to his start. "We are looking at this guy to pitch and stay strong all year," Cooper said Sunday, July 7. "We limit sidelines a lot of times or skip them sometimes. Or we'll do a Day 3 and just do light touch and feel sometimes."

Chicago White Sox SPs Chris Sale, John Danks, Hector Santiago and Jose Quintana are now scheduled to face the Houston Astros from Friday, June 14, through Monday, June 17. The club's game on Wednesday, June 12, against the Toronto Blue Jays was postponed, and the White Sox have off on Thursday, June 13, so they have elected to skip SP Dylan Axelrod.
Fantasy Tip: The ChiSox may just be taking advantage of the chance to give Axelrod some extra rest after he was thrashed in his start on Monday. Perhaps Santiago has a legit chance to move ahead of Axelrod in the pecking order now, although that's of little importance for the foreseeable future.

Chicago White Sox SP Hector Santiago will re-enter the starting rotation to take the place of SP Jake Peavy (rib), who will rest for the next four to six weeks with a non-displaced fracture on his left side. Santiago is 1-2 with a 2.96 ERA in five starts this year, and his last start came May 22 against the Boston Red Sox.
Fantasy Tip: Santiago isn't a bad option to add to your starting rotation if you need the help in deep mixed leagues.
