Astros | Jake Marisnick out Wednesday

Wed, 27 May 2015 13:25:51 -0700

Houston Astros OF Jake Marisnick is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, May 27, against the Baltimore Orioles. OF Preston Tucker is in left field.

Fantasy Tip: Marisnick ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) appears to be out of the lineup to give other players a chance to play in the field. Tucker ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) has been warming up as of late, so Marisnick's playing time may be running out.

Astros | Jake Marisnick out Tuesday

Tue, 26 May 2015 13:21:28 -0700

Houston Astros OF Jake Marisnick is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, May 26. OF Colby Rasmus is shifting over to center field and is hitting fifth in the batting order against Baltimore Orioles SP Chris Tillman.

Fantasy Tip: Left-handed hitters have a slash line of .312/.391/.416 off of Tillman this year, and he enters with a 6.10 ERA in eight starts. Rasmus ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is typically a dice roll at FantasyScore, but he does have some upside tonight as a value pick against a struggling pitcher at a hitter-friendly venue.

Astros | Jake Marisnick cooling off

Tue, 26 May 2015 06:17:25 -0700

Houston Astros OF Jake Marisnick is cooling off at the plate. He struck out only 10 times in 58 April at-bats and has struck out 25 times in 74 May at-bats. Marisnick is hitting just .189 in May after batting .379 in April and has only one hit in his last 15 at-bats.

Fantasy Tip: Marisnick ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) doesn't appear to be in jeopardy of losing his job and contributes adequately on defense, but fantasy owners should look to bench him until he shows signs of turning it around. Avoid him in daily play, too, on FantasyScore.

Astros | Jake Marisnick sitting out

Fri, 22 May 2015 13:07:39 -0700

Houston Astros OF Jake Marisnick is not in the starting lineup Friday, May 22. OF Preston Tucker will take his place in the lineup and is starting in left field.

Fantasy Tip: Marisnick ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) has been on a bit of a cold streak and is likely receiving a day off. Tucker ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) has played well in his limited time with the team and may be a cheaper starting option if owners are looking to save some money.

Astros | Jake Marisnick sitting out Tuesday

Tue, 19 May 2015 16:21:35 -0700

Houston Astros OF Jake Marisnick is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, May 19. OF Preston Tucker is starting in left field and hitting fifth in the batting order against Oakland Athletics SP Sonny Gray, while OF Colby Rasmus shifts to center field.

Fantasy Tip: Tucker ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) has done well in limited time for the Astros this year, but he should be considered a weak play at FantasyScore this evening against Gray, who leads the American League in ERA (1.61) entering the game.

Tue, 19 May 2015 15:26:05 -0700

Houston Astros OF Jake Marisnick is batting .156 (7-for-45) in his last 13 games after a hot start to the season.

Fantasy Tip: Marisnick ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is still hitting .292 (33-for-113) with three home runs, 15 RBI and nine stolen bases on the year. He's also out of the starting lineup Tuesday, so you'll need to make sure to avoid him at FantasyScore.

Astros | Jake Marisnick out of the lineup

Sat, 16 May 2015 14:43:02 -0700

Houston Astros OF Jake Marisnick will serve as a bench option Saturday, May 16, against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Fantasy Tip: Marisnick ($3,700,7.4% of cap) picked up two hits Friday, but he had gone 1-for-17 before that. While Marisnick got off to an incredible start to the 2015 season, owners should be fading him on FantasyScore until the positive results start to come back.

Astros | Jake Marisnick back in nine-hole

Fri, 15 May 2015 13:50:08 -0700

Houston Astros OF Jake Marisnick is hitting ninth in the batting order against Toronto Blue Jays SP R.A. Dickey Friday, May 15.

Fantasy Tip: Marisnick ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) hit only .143 (3-for-21) with a run scored in five games in the leadoff spot. Hitting ninth in 2015, he's hit .364 (16-for-44) with two of his three home runs and eight RBI. A move back to the bottom of the order makes him lose some of his FantasyScore appeal, but in a matchup against the soft-tossing Dickey, he could still be very helpful at a reduced cost.

Astros | Jake Marisnick back in leadoff spot

Tue, 12 May 2015 14:18:04 -0700

Houston Astros OF Jake Marisnick is in the leadoff spot for the third straight game against San Francisco Giants SP Chris Heston Tuesday, May 12.

Fantasy Tip: Marisnick ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) might just be a temporary solution at the top of the lineup with George Springer (concussion) on the 7-day DL. While Marisnick has hit just .250 (2-for-8) in the leadoff spot, you can't argue that the move to the top doesn't help his fantasy value. He should be considered a strong value play for Houston with more chances for at-bats and stolen bases.

Astros | Jake Marisnick slumping

Sat, 09 May 2015 15:29:21 -0700

Houston Astros OF Jake Marisnick is batting .067 with zero extra-base hits in his last five games, as of Saturday, May 9. Marisnick is 1-for-15 in that span.

Fantasy Tip: Marisnick ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) hasn't hit a home run or stolen a base since May 1, against the Seattle Mariners. It looks like Marisnick has finally started to regress, and he should be avoided on FantasyScore for the time being.
