Mon, 25 Apr 2016 21:15:20 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Jackie Bradley Jr. went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, providing all of the offense in a 1-0 victory against the Atlanta Braves Monday, April 25.

Fantasy Tip: Bradley has managed back-to-back games with at least one RBI for the first time this season, and he didn't strike out for the first time in five outings.

Red Sox | David Ortiz, Jackie Bradley Jr. return

Sun, 10 Apr 2016 08:09:40 -0700

Boston Red Sox DH David Ortiz and OF Jackie Bradley Jr. are back in the lineup versus Toronto Blue Jays SP Marco Estrada Sunday, April 10, batting fourth and ninth, respectively.

Fantasy Tip: Ortiz and Bradley were both rested Saturday, April 9, because the team was facing knuckleballer R.A. Dickey. Big Papi is batting .385 with two home runs and five RBIs through 13 at-bats, while Bradley is 2-for-10 at the plate this year.

Red Sox | Jackie Bradley not playing

Sat, 09 Apr 2016 07:16:10 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Jackie Bradley Jr. is not in the starting lineup against Toronto Blue Jays SP R.A. Dickey Saturday, April 9. OF Rusney Castillo will start in center field and is batting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Castillo will see his first plate appearances of the season Saturday and likely will be a fourth outfielder for the time being. Castillo probably should only be used in AL-only leagues at this point.

Red Sox | Jackie Bradley having big spring

Mon, 28 Mar 2016 11:32:20 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Jackie Bradley Jr. was 15-for-40 (.375 batting average) with two doubles, three home runs and a 1.082 OPS entering his spring training game Monday, March 28.

Fantasy Tip: With the strong spring, Bradley has the center field job locked up, but he'll likely hit at the bottom of the lineup. Still, his cross-category upside warrants attention at the end of mixed drafts, and he is a potential breakthrough player, especially in deep mixed and AL-only formats. Remember, Bradley finished 2015 strong with a .267/.352/.539 slash line over 191 games after the All-Star break.

Red Sox | Jackie Bradley Jr. continues torrid start

Tue, 08 Mar 2016 15:09:51 -0800

Boston Red Sox OF Jackie Bradley Jr. singled and walked twice against the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday, March 8.

Fantasy Tip: Bradley is known mostly for his defense and appears to have a job locked up in center but might be on the verge of becoming a complete player. The 25-year-old began to emerge offensively with regular playing time in the second half of the season last year and is 6-for-9 with three walks and no strikeouts through five exhibition games. Bradley is worth a late-round investment in deeper leagues.

Red Sox | Boston outfield set

Tue, 26 Jan 2016 14:04:58 -0800

Boston Red Sox OFs Mookie Betts, Rusney Castillo and Jackie Bradley Jr. are set to be the starting outfielders in 2016, with Bradley in center field, Castillo in left and Betts in right. OF Chris Young is expected to start against left-handed pitchers and mix in regularly against righties.

Fantasy Tip: After the breakout year that Betts had in 2015, he's unlikely to make it past the second round of fantasy drafts. Young is expected to platoon with Bradley the most, so those two are more of targets in deep mixed leagues. Castillo is the wild card. He has plenty of talent but only had five homers in 80 games last year. A cheap investment there could yield plenty of value.

Royals | KC inquired about Jackie Bradley Jr.

Sun, 13 Dec 2015 13:42:06 -0800

The Kansas City Royals inquired about Boston Red Sox OF Jackie Bradley Jr. at the winter meetings but were told Bradley was not for sale.

Fantasy Tip: It looks like the Chicago Cubs also had their eyes on Bradley before they signed Jason Heyward. The Red Sox appear to want Bradley as part of their offensive plans, but his hitting keeps Bradley down on most draft boards.

Red Sox | Jackie Bradley Jr. off table?

Sun, 15 Nov 2015 13:43:58 -0800

Boston Red Sox OF Jackie Bradley Jr. may not be dealt by the team this winter. Sources speculate Red Sox general manager Dave Dombrowski would likely pursue pitching via free agency and not likely make any trades to keep the core intact.

Fantasy Tip: If that's the case, then Bradley will be welcomed back to Boston and a lot of teams will be disappointed. If he can get his hitting act together, Bradley could shoot up some draft boards. As it is, his hitting is what keeps Bradley down on most charts.

Red Sox | Jackie Bradley attracting interest

Thu, 12 Nov 2015 11:08:56 -0800

Boston Red Sox OF Jackie Bradley Jr. is attracting a lot of trade interest from other teams, with the Seattle Mariners, Kansas City Royals and Chicago Cubs among the interested parties. Bradley hit just .138 with a .510 OPS in his last 25 games to close out the season.

Fantasy Tip: Bradley finished the season hitting .249 (55-for-221) with 10 home runs and 43 RBI. He's been one of the better defensive outfielders for the Red Sox, but he remains an enigma at the plate in his young career. A change of scenery could do him good, though. Look for Bradley in the later rounds of deep mixed fantasy leagues in 2016 if he's set for an everyday role.

Mariners | Seattle wants athletic OF

Wed, 11 Nov 2015 10:13:33 -0800

The Seattle Mariners may be inclined to trade for the likes of New York Yankees OF Brett Gardner, St. Louis Cardinals OFs Jon Jay or Peter Bourjos, Texas Rangers OF Leonys Martin or Boston Red Sox OF Jackie Bradley Jr. rather than sign impending free-agent OFs Dexter Fowler (Cubs), Austin Jackson (Cubs) or Denard Span (Nationals).

Fantasy Tip: Gardner is likely Seattle's top trade target and is the biggest fantasy name of the bunch. A move to pitcher-friendly Safeco Field would turn many off to Gardner, but that could make him a better value pick in 2016 fantasy drafts for his speed.
