Baltimore Orioles C Steve Clevenger (oblique) went 0-for-3 with a strikeout in his first rehab game Thursday, July 25. SP Tsuyoshi Wada (elbow) tossed 101 pitches in 4 2/3 innings of work with Triple-A Norfolk Thursday, giving up two runs and four hits while walking five and striking out four.

The Baltimore Orioles intend to recall a pitcher Wednesday, July 10, but SP Jair Jurrjens is not an option after throwing 92 pitches Tuesday, July 9 for Triple-A Norfolk. SP Josh Stinson is also not an option after working seven innings Saturday, July 6. Ps Mike Belfiore and Tsuyoshi Wada are on the 40-man roster and might prove length.

Baltimore Orioles SP Tsuyoshi Wada (elbow) agreed to accept being optioned to Triple-A Norfolk Friday, June 14. He was officially activated from the 60-day disabled list, and optioned to the Tides. Wada had to give consent, according to a clause in his two-year contract signed December 2011.

Baltimore Orioles P Tsuyoshi Wada (elbow) and the organization are in the process of working out an agreement that would keep the pitcher in the minor leagues beyond the end of his window for a rehab assignment, which ends this weekend. The left-hander must approve being optioned, and he's expected to do so. The Orioles would have to remove him from the 60-day disabled list and add him to the 40-man roster, and they have an opening.

Baltimore Orioles SP Tsuyoshi Wada (elbow) allowed eight runs - seven earned - and six hits with two walks and two strikeouts while retiring just four batters in his minor-league rehab start with Triple-A Norfolk Tuesday, June 11. His rehab stint is up Saturday, June 15, and he has given his consent to be optioned if that's what the club feels is best.
Fantasy Tip: Wada has allowed 26 runs - 22 earned - over 24 1/3 innings in six rehab starts, while giving up 33 hits with 13 walks while recording 20 strikeouts. With those type of numbers, it appears the Orioles will likely take Wada up on his offer to get more seasoning in the minors until he pitches more consistently. Avoid him in all fantasy leagues for now, as he isn't close to being effective.

Baltimore Orioles SP Wei-Yin Chen (oblique) is up to 90 feet and is pain-free during his throwing program. SP Jair Jurrjens (thumb) is unlikely to make his next start for Triple-A Norfolk. SP Tsuyoshi Wada (elbow) had his "best stuff outing" for Norfolk Thursday, June 6, and he saw a slight uptick in his fastball velocity.
Fantasy Tip: The O's won't rush Chen or Wada back into the starting rotation anytime soon. But when they're ready and if Baltimore wants them in the starting rotation, Freddy Garcia and Kevin Gausman may be the most vulnerable to lose a spot.

Baltimore Orioles SP Tsuyoshi Wada (elbow) will make his fourth rehab start with Triple-A Norfolk Friday, May 31. He's 0-2 with a 5.54 ERA with eight walks and 12 strikeouts for Norfolk, and his 30-day rehab assignment will end June 15. The team will take their time with him and they still view him as a starter.
Fantasy Tip: The O's won't back themselves into a corner with Wada. If he's pitching well by mid-June, he could enter the rotation immediately, but that's to be determined. It's possible they could use him out of the bullpen until a need arises. You can wait off on acquiring him in deep leagues.
