Brewers | Scooter Gennett on the rise

Wed, 22 Jul 2015 19:30:59 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Scooter Gennett went 3-for-4 with a double Wednesday, July 22, against the Cleveland Indians to raise his batting average to .266.

Fantasy Tip: Gennett ($3,100; or 6.2% of cap) was hitting just .208 heading into July, but he is 21-for-53 (.396) with 10 runs scored, five doubles and nine RBIs in 14 games in July to re-emerge as a solid option in FantasyScore.

Brewers | Scooter Gennett sitting out

Sun, 19 Jul 2015 09:30:42 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Scooter Gennett is not in the starting lineup against Pittsburgh Pirates SP Jeff Locke Sunday, July 19. 2B Hernan Perez will start at second base and is batting eighth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Gennett ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) likely will return to the lineup in the next game or two. Perez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is hitting.255 in limited playing time this season, but owners should be able to find better options to use.

Brewers | Scooter Gennett playing well

Sat, 18 Jul 2015 20:33:21 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Scooter Gennett went 3-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI in an 8-5 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates Saturday, July 18, and he is hitting .320 since being recalled from Class AAA Colorado Springs June 11.

Fantasy Tip: Gennett ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) endured a horrible start to the year, but he has bounced back nicely. He won't play much against lefties, but he makes a nice source of cap relief against righties while he is swing a hot bat.

Brewers | Hernan Perez playing second base

Sat, 18 Jul 2015 11:04:53 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers INF Hernan Perez will start at second base and bat seventh against Pittsburgh Pirates SP Francisco Liriano Saturday, July 18. 2B Scooter Gennett is getting the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Perez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is 5-for-18 this month and is hitless in three career at-bats versus Liriano. Only consider him as a FantasyScore option if you're in desperate need of cap relief.

Brewers | Scooter Gennett out of lineup

Sun, 12 Jul 2015 12:24:06 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Scooter Gennett is not in the starting lineup against Los Angeles Dodgers SP Brett Anderson Sunday, July 12. INF Hernan Perez will play second base and bat eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Perez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is batting .338 in 65 at-bats since being acquired from Detroit earlier this season. However, he shouldn't be viewed as anything other than FantasyScore salary cap relief.

Brewers | Scooter Gennett not starting Tuesday

Tue, 07 Jul 2015 13:26:06 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Scooter Gennett is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, July 7, against the Atlanta Braves. 2B Hernan Perez is playing instead.

Fantasy Tip: Gennett ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) is likely out because lefty Manny Banuelos is pitching for the Braves. Gennett is 10-for-27 (.370) in the past week, so this has to hurt Milwaukee worse than it does your FantasyScore lineup. Perez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is hitting .353 in the past week and .400 for July, so he may be worth a flier.

Brewers | Scooter Gennett batting second

Mon, 06 Jul 2015 14:06:50 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Scooter Gennett is batting second against Atlanta Braves SP Matt Wisler Monday, July 6.

Fantasy Tip: Gennett ($2,600, 5.2% of cap), along with the entire Milwaukee lineup, has been scorching hot. He has a .312/.346/.558 slash line since his recall Thursday, June 11, to go along with eight runs, 11 extra-base hits and 13 RBI through 23 games. He stands as an excellent FantasyScore option in the two-hole Monday.

Brewers | Scooter Gennett heating up

Wed, 01 Jul 2015 19:36:36 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Scooter Gennett went 3-for-5 with two doubles, a triple, three RBI and two runs scored in a 9-5 win over the Philadelphia Phillies Wednesday, July 1, and he has raised his average from .194 to .224 over his last seven games.

Fantasy Tip: Gennett ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) has been rounding back into form after a dreadful start, especially against right-handed pitching. He should make a solid low-priced option at FantasyScore again Thursday when Chad Billingsley takes his 6.75 ERA to the mound for Philadelphia.

Brewers | Scooter Gennett in two-hole Wednesday

Wed, 01 Jul 2015 12:13:25 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Scooter Gennett is hitting second against Philadelphia Phillies SP Aaron Harang Wednesday, July 1.

Fantasy Tip: Gennett ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) will likely continue to be overlooked on FantasyScore because of his .208 average (25-for-120), but he does have all four of his homers off right-handers this year, and he is hitting .273 (15-for-55) with three homers since being recalled in early June. He's worth a look as an under-the-radar sleeper play against Harang.

Brewers | Scooter Gennett out Tuesday

Tue, 30 Jun 2015 11:36:48 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Scooter Gennett is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, June 30. 2B Hernan Perez is starting at the keystone and hitting eighth against Philadelphia Phillies SP Cole Hamels.

Fantasy Tip: Perez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has hit well in his brief time with the Brew Crew (.348 in 46 at-bats), but he doesn't have much power to speak of and should be avoided in daily games going up against Hamels.
