Orioles | Several pitching coach candidates

The Atlanta Braves have to give permission to the Baltimore Orioles to interview minor-league pitching coordinator Dave Wallace. The Orioles are expected to interview him starting next week, as well as former Philadelphia Phillies pitching coach Rich Dubee, Seattle Mariners pitching coach Carl Willis and Texas Rangers bullpen coach Andy Hawkins. Dubee's interview is set for Tuesday, Oct. 22. Manager Buck Showalter said Friday, Oct. 18, that the team will also consider bullpen coach Scott McGregor, interim pitching coach Bill Castro and Triple-A pitching coach Mike Griffin.

The Baltimore Orioles are expected to hire Milwaukee Brewers coach Bill Castro as their next bullpen coach, according to an industry source. The rest of the coaching staff is expected to be announced later this week.

Former SS Mike Bordick probably won't be hired as a coach by the Baltimore Orioles. Bill Castro is a candidate to serve as bullpen coach. Former Boston Red Sox first base coach Ron Johnson is a candidate to manage Triple-A Norfolk. Gary Allenson is expected to be reassigned.
