|Redskins | Robert Griffin feeling better|
Thu, 18 Jun 2015 15:27:01 -0700
Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III said he's feeling better than he's felt in a while. "I just think we're all feeling better about what we're doing," Griffin said. "We know a lot more than last year. And for me as a player, you always have to be confident. Sometimes you have to throw a little swag on it."
Fantasy Tip: Griffin has had a positive offseason, and head coach Jay Gruden has even taken notice with his development. The big question for Griffin is can he stay healthy? He's coming off a season in which he suffered a dislocated ankle. In Griffin's three-year career so far, he hasn't played in all 16 games even once. The talent is there, and he has more value because of his ability to run the football, but he's too risky to be taken as a starting fantasy quarterback.

|Redskins | RG3 making progress|
Tue, 16 Jun 2015 18:09:04 -0700
Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III has been impressing head coach Jay Gruden this offseason. "The more he plays, the more success he has, the more confidence he's going to build up as a player and the more confident this whole offense is going to be with him under center," Gruden said of Griffin. "That comes with time. I don't think anybody lacks confidence with him at quarterback. I think the transition for him into a new season last season was a little bit rocky for all of us. When you have the same system going in for Year 2, I think he's going to get better," said Gruden.
Fantasy Tip: RG3 will likely slide to the bottom of 2015 fantasy drafts, but if he can stay healthy there is tremendous upside to be had. Owners who miss out on a top-10 quarterback should take Griffin as their No. 2, as he still has the potential to be an elite fantasy asset.

|Redskins | Robert Griffin's option was obvious choice|
Tue, 02 Jun 2015 11:22:26 -0700
Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III's fifth-year option being picked up was the obvious decision, according to team president Bruce Allen. "We know his talent. It really was a no-brainer," Allen said. "I think if you asked us six months before it would have been the same decision."
Fantasy Tip: It's interesting that it took Washington how long it did to pick up Griffin's option considering Allen's words. Nevertheless, Griffin is slated to start the 2015 season and will look to play a full season for the first time in his career. Draft him as a QB2.

|Redskins | Mike Shanahan talks RG3|
Sat, 23 May 2015 15:25:04 -0700
Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III can't blame his regression on injuries, according to former Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan. "I don't think getting hurt has anything to do with it," Shanahan told WJFK in Washington Friday, May 22. "I think what you do is you rehab yourself and you get better. ... You don't have to have great running ability to run the read-option. You have to be able to know when to slide, when to throw the football away, depending on if you're running or passing," said Shanahan.
Fantasy Tip: RG3 has the abilities to be a steal in the late rounds of 2015 fantasy drafts, if he's able to stay healthy and translate his game to head coach Jay Gruden's system. Griffin is worth a flier as a second quarterback.

|Redskins | Robert Griffin to make strides in '15?|
Mon, 11 May 2015 13:35:29 -0700
Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III should be comfortable enough with the offense to improve this season, according to head coach Jay Gruden. "Everything should come a lot more natural for [Griffin], and hopefully, we see that transition from year one to year two in this system with the terminology and knowing where to go with your footwork and anticipation of getting the ball out quicker," Gruden said.
Fantasy Tip: It will certainly be hard not to improve this year after a tumultuous 2014 campaign that ended prematurely because of a dislocated ankle. If he's comfortable enough with the offense and if he can play a full season up to his potential, he can end up in QB1 range this season.

|Redskins | Robert Griffin's option picked up|
Mon, 27 Apr 2015 09:45:27 -0700
Updating a previous report, Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III's 2016 option was picked up Monday, April 27. He will make $16.2 million in 2016, and he'll have a base salary of $3.27 million in 2015. The fifth-year option is guaranteed for injury only, meaning the Redskins could release him before the 2016 season without salary cap ramifications.
Fantasy Tip: Griffin is expected to be the starting in training camp and leading up to Week 1, but beyond that, not much is guaranteed for him unless he delivers on the field. He hasn't done much since an impressive rookie season in 2012, mainly due to injuries. Griffin has plenty of upside left, though, and he's a high-end QB2 in traditional leagues, with plenty or risk/reward.

|Redskins | Robert Griffin has support of teammate|
Tue, 21 Apr 2015 16:08:58 -0700
Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III is doing what he needs to do in order to improve, according to WR DeSean Jackson. Jackson added that the offense needs to build their camaraderie and increase its chemistry for them to improve on a four-win 2014 season.
Fantasy Tip: Griffin first needs to stay on the field. He's only played in 24 games the last two seasons. If he can stay healthy, he's worth starter consideration with his dual-threat ability.

|Redskins | Robert Griffin OK without option?|
Mon, 20 Apr 2015 15:00:42 -0700
Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III said he wouldn't be "bummed" if the Redskins did not pick up his 2016 option. "I just want to win. I want to win games and have fun doing it. The rest will take care of itself," Griffin said.
Fantasy Tip: Griffin seems more relaxed and stress-free heading into the 2015 season. He has a lot to prove after a tumultuous 2014 campaign. Griffin should be regarded as a low-end QB2 with fantasy drafts approaching.
