The St. Louis Rams did not select a wide receiver with any of their 12 selections in this year's draft, and head coach Jeff Fisher said they are happy and confident with the group of young receivers they have on their roster. St. Louis ranked 29th in the league in receiving yards last year, 26th in yards per catch and were tied for 20th in receiving touchdowns. WR Tavon Austin came on strong late in his rookie year, and WRs Chris Givens and Brian Quick are expected to do more in their third seasons with QB Sam Bradford coming off an injury. WR Stedman Bailey will miss the first four games of the season due to a suspension, but the team also took a chance on WR Kenny Britt.
Fantasy Tip: Austin should be primed to take the next step in his sophomore season. One of the big reasons why the Rams' offense sputtered so much over the course of the season was because Bradford wasn't around. With a healthy Bradford, all of St. Louis' aerial weapons should benefit.

The St. Louis Rams signed free-agent WR Kenny Britt (Titans) to a one-year, $1.4 million deal Monday, March 31, according to a source. The deal could wind up being worth as much as $2.9 million. Britt will receive $550,000 in guarantees.
Fantasy Tip: Britt has a chance to start anew, and a reunion with coach Jeff Fisher in a new environment could rejuvenate the struggling wideout. If Britt can eliminate dropped passes and endear himself in this offense, he could be a surprise as a WR3 or 4 opposite Tavon Austin. He won't be given the job outright, though; he'll have to compete for a starting spot with Austin Pettis and Chris Givens.

St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher praised Clemson WR Sammy Watkins' talent, but he also said he likes what the team has at receiver. "I think with what we have on the roster right now, we can provide (quarterback) Sam (Bradford) with the talent to where we can win a lot of games," Fisher said. "We're expecting improvement. We're still seeing improvement from (receivers), for example, Brian Quick, Chris Givens who are going into their third year."

St. Louis Rams general manager Les Snead said the team doesn't necessarily need a No. 1 wideout to compete with the rest of their division moving forward, despite the Rams finishing 30th in the league in total yards and 22nd in offensive points in 2013. WR Chris Givens led the team's receivers with only 569 receiving yards last year, and St. Louis hasn't had a receiver even reach 700 yards since former WR Torrey Holt in 2008.
"I go back to this and the answer is really 'no' on that," Snead said. "I think our receivers right now, I truly believe as they progress and the oldest guy just finished his third year, we cannot have another receiver around here and we're going to be a good football team."

St. Louis Rams RB Benny Cunningham, RB Isaiah Pead and WR Chris Givens could be kick returner options Week 15 if WR Tavon Austin (ankle) is not able to play.

St. Louis Rams QB Kellen Clemens is expected to start at quarterback with QB Sam Bradford (knee) out for the rest of the season.
Fantasy Tip: Avoid Clemens everywhere, unless you're in a cavernous league that starts two QBs. Wideouts Chris Givens, Austin Pettis and Tavon Austin should be bumped down in your weekly rankings now, too.

The St. Louis Rams might only keep five wide receivers to start the regular season due to injuries at the tight end position. WRs Tavon Austin, Stedman Bailey, Chris Givens, Austin Pettis and Brian Quick are considered the "big five." WRs Emory Blake, Nick Johnson and Justin Veltung are believed to be battling for the sixth receiver job.
Fantasy Tip: Even if Blake, Johnson or Veltung were to find their way onto the roster, they're a long way from having any fantasy appeal.
