Falcons | Mohamed Sanu bonding with QB

Wed, 13 Jul 2016 21:14:36 -0700

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu has bonded with QB Matt Ryan, working together at Ryan's passing camp in Orlando, and throughout June minicamp. The duo built chemistry as the practices wore on. "He's got great hands," Ryan said. "One of the things I noticed right from the start is how strong his hands are. He's a really good worker. I think he can really help us."

Fantasy Tip: Sanu will step into the role vacated by veteran Roddy White. He has never posted more than 790 receiving yards in a season, but that should change in 2016. If not, he will be a huge fantasy bust since he shouldn't slip past the middle rounds in most formats on draft day.

Falcons | Mohamed Sanu impressing Matt Ryan

Sat, 09 Jul 2016 20:54:11 -0700

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu has been developing chemistry with QB Matt Ryan during spring practices, and Ryan said he has been impressed with how strong Sanu's hands are.

Fantasy Tip: Sanu is going to open the year as the No. 2 receiver across from Julio Jones. While it remains to be seen if he can thrive in a larger role, he is in a position to be a low-end WR2 in 2016.

Falcons | Mohamed Sanu working with teammates

Tue, 29 Mar 2016 15:44:47 -0700

Updating a previous report, Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu is among a group of Falcons working together in Florida. QB Matt Ryan, RB Devonta Freeman and WR Julio Jones are also among the group of players, as reported earlier.

Fantasy Tip: This is a good decision by Sanu and the Falcons to get together before offseason activities start. It's an especially good move by the newly acquired Sanu, who can get a jumpstart on becoming familiar with his quarterback and his teammates. For now, Sanu is in WR4 territory as the Falcons' No. 2 wide receiver.

Falcons | Mohamed Sanu to be No. 2 WR

Mon, 21 Mar 2016 21:36:07 -0700

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu will take over the No. 2 wideout job opposite WR Julio Jones. "Sanu is a legitimate No. 2 for us, is a great compliment to Julio Jones," general manager Thomas Dimitroff said in a satellite radio interview Monday, March 21.

Fantasy Tip: Sanu is the new Roddy White in Atlanta, and there is plenty of receptions, yardage and touchdowns despite the presence of Julio. Expect him to be a solid low-end WR2 or must-start WR3 or flex option into 2016.

Falcons | Mohamed Sanu wasn't targeted often

Thu, 10 Mar 2016 12:39:03 -0800

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu was targeted on just 50 of the 383 routes he ran last year with the Cincinnati Bengals (13%), which was the fourth-lowest percentage in the NFL out of 133 players with at least 50 targets.

Fantasy Tip: Sanu was buried on Cincy's receiving depth chart during his time there, and he was often used on gimmick plays. That should change in Atlanta, where he'll be the No. 2 wideout opposite Julio Jones. Jones and a strong run game could take pressure off Sanu and allow him to put up WR numbers. But he's much safer as your No. 3.

Thu, 10 Mar 2016 11:30:21 -0800

Updating a previous report, Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu agreed to a five-year deal with the Falcons, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Sanu arrives in an attractive spot considering the amount of attention placed on Julio Jones and the success Devonta Freeman had running between the tackles last season. Sanu has WR2 potential in fantasy.

Falcons | Mohamed Sanu to sign with Atlanta

Wed, 09 Mar 2016 14:41:30 -0800

Updating previous reports, free-agent WR Mohamed Sanu (Bengals) is visiting Atlanta to officially sign a deal worth $7 million per year with the Atlanta Falcons.

Fantasy Tip: As stated earlier, this move makes plenty of sense for the Falcons, who were in dire need of a wide receiver with the hole Roddy White left. Despite being in a relatively up-tempo offense, Sanu should not be regarded as more than a WR3.

Falcons | Mohamed Sanu to visit Atlanta

Wed, 09 Mar 2016 13:26:22 -0800

Free-agent WR Mohamed Sanu (Bengals) will visit the Atlanta Falcons, who will try to sign him, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: This seems to be a pretty logical decision for the Falcons. Sanu is one of the best remaining free-agent wide receivers and Atlanta just released Roddy White, so a big need is there. If Sanu does ink with the Falcons, he's not more than a WR3 in the fantasy football world.

Falcons | Atlanta favorite for Mohamed Sanu

Wed, 09 Mar 2016 12:00:43 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals impending free-agent WR Mohamed Sanu has been offered over $7 million per year from the Atlanta Falcons, who are favored to acquire Sanu.

Fantasy Tip: That's a good chunk of coin for a wide receiver who really has yet to prove himself in the NFL. The wide receiver market is fairly weak this year, though, and the Falcons have a big need at wide receiver after the release of Roddy White. If Sanu does end up in Atlanta, he shouldn't be considered more than a WR3.
