Sun, 21 Sep 2014 08:06:41 -0700
Chicago Bears WR Alshon Jeffery (ankle) is expected to play Monday, Sept. 22.
Fantasy Tip: Jeffery ($7,200; 14.4% of your cap) was gimpy last week and is an expensive option this week. The New York Jets are likely to be without CB Dee Milliner (ankle, quadriceps), and Jeffery could have a good matchup depending on how the Jets plan to attack the Bears' offense.

Thu, 18 Sep 2014 14:53:27 -0700
Chicago Bears WR Alshon Jeffery (hamstring) was limited in practice Thursday, Sept. 18.
Fantasy Tip: Jeffery had three catches for 47 yards in Week 2 after being questionable, and his injury is considered more serious than fellow receiver Brandon Marshall. However, it's a good sign that Jeffery is already limited in the first practice of the week. Assuming he's healthy, Jeffery ($7,200 at FantasyScore) could be in line for a fine payout.
Sun, 14 Sep 2014 20:45:58 -0700
Updating a previous report, Chicago Bears WR Alshon Jeffery (hamstring) played in Week 2 against the San Francisco 49ers, and he was held to three receptions and 47 yards with no scores.

Chicago Bears WR Alshon Jeffery (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Week 2 against the San Francisco 49ers after practicing in a limited fashion Friday, Sept. 12, and taking part in some of the full team drills. Head coach Marc Trestman said the team will continue to monitor Jeffery's status before Sunday, Sept. 14. Jeffery was a little guarded when asked if he thinks he'd play against the Niners.
Fantasy Tip: Jeffery will cost you $5,700 at FantasyScore against San Fran. To be safe, you may want to avoid Jeffery, especially since he doesn't play until the afternoon on Sunday.
Thu, 11 Sep 2014 13:50:52 -0700
Chicago Bears WR Alshon Jeffery (hamstring) missed practice again Thursday, Sept. 11.
Fantasy Tip: Jeffery's availability in Week 2 against the San Francisco 49ers is unknown at this point. We'll probably have a better idea on his status tomorrow, but because he's missed two practices already, that's not a good sign. Prepare to avoid him at FantasyScore to be safe.
Wed, 10 Sep 2014 16:37:33 -0700
Chicago Bears WR Alshon Jeffery (hamstring) did not take part in practice Wednesday, Sept. 10, due to his hamstring injury.

Wed, 10 Sep 2014 12:21:09 -0700

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery is probably continuing to be cautious with the hamstring injury by sitting out of practice. With a FantasyScore price of $5,700 (11.4% of cap), Jeffery would be a nice addition to your team.
Tue, 09 Sep 2014 11:05:23 -0700
Chicago Bears WR Alshon Jeffery (hamstring) took the cautious approach not to re-enter the team's Week 1 game against the Buffalo Bills Sunday, Sept. 7, after being injured in the third quarter, and he didn't return in the fourth quarter or for overtime. "I expected to go," Jeffery said, "but we were just being cautious." Jeffery was mobile enough to celebrate with WR Brandon Marshall after a touchdown late in the third quarter.
Fantasy Tip: Jeffery's injury doesn't sound very serious. It would probably take a setback this week to keep him from playing in Week 2 against the San Francisco 49ers. He'll face a better defense this week, but as is always the case, he'd make a fine addition to your weekly lineup at FantasyScore at $5,700 (11.4% of cap).
Sun, 07 Sep 2014 15:35:57 -0700
Updating a previous report, Chicago Bears WR Alshon Jeffery (hamstring) missed the fourth quarter and overtime of the Week 1 game against the Buffalo Bills due to a hamstring injury. Head coach Marc Trestman said Sunday, Sept. 7, that Jeffery was prepared to re-enter the game. "Alshon was prepared to go in there at specific times. I'll just leave it at that." Jeffery did not appear to be walking with a limp or any type of discomfort after the game.
Fantasy Tip: FantasyScore owners can't complain too vehemently, as at least Jeffery snagged five balls for 71 yards before departing for good.

Chicago Bears WR Alshon Jeffery is tied with Denver Broncos WR Eric Decker for the most receiving yards in the league in the last five weeks, with 561. Jeffery leads his team in yards over WR Brandon Marshall (540).
Fantasy Tip: Jeffery has been one of the nice suprises for fantasy owners this year, but his value may have already reached its peak now that Jay Cutler (groin) is out. Jeffery is unlikely to be as productive with Josh McCown running the offense.
Mon, 21 Oct 2013 10:19:37 -0700
The Chicago Bears are awaiting the MRI results on Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler (groin) Monday, Oct. 21, and they are bracing themselves for bad news. Cutler could be out for most of the remaining 10 weeks of the season if it's a serious groin injury. QB Josh McCown would take over for Cutler if he has to miss any time. The Bears would likely re-sign QB Jordan Palmer to back up McCown.
Fantasy Tip: If you own Cutler, starting making plans to add another quarterback. Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery, as well as Martellus Bennett, will likely suffer if Cutler misses most of the rest of the year.

Mon, 07 Oct 2013 09:53:31 -0700
Updating a previous report, Chicago Bears WR Brandon Marshall caught just four passes for 30 yards in the team's Week 5 loss to the New Orleans Saints, and QB Jay Cutler targeted him only five times. The Saints double covered Marshall for the majority of the game. "They weren't going to let him have a good day," Cutler said of New Orleans' defense. "They decided, 'Hey, it's not going to happen.' They were going to take him out of the ball game. He still made some plays for us. He might be frustrated, but we just have to keep getting better and better, and he understands that."
Marshall voiced some frustration over his role as a decoy, but head coach Marc Trestman said: "I want to get Brandon the ball. We want to get Brandon the ball. There were a couple of shots early. Jay looked back and he was open a couple of times, then protection got in his face and he was forced to move, which was disappointing. That starts with me. I've got to do a better job of getting him involved."
Fantasy Tip: Opposing defenses are starting to take Marshall out of the game with double teams, freeing up more looks for Alshon Jeffery and Matt Forte. Marshall won't be held down forever, but there will be more frustrating games like this in the future.
Sun, 06 Oct 2013 15:23:50 -0700

Chicago Bears WR Brandon Marshall (hip) expects to have a full workload during training camp, which begins Friday, July 26. WR Alshon Jeffery (hamstring), who missed organized team activities in June with a pulled hamstring, is also expected to be fully healthy. "No limitations," Marshall said, "but we're gonna be smart. I'm going on my eighth year, (have) had a few hip surgeries, nothing major. But at the same time, we start playing games in September. So that's what I'm preparing for. It's important to get out there with your teammates, build that chemistry, learn the offense, get reps. But at the same time, if I'm not healthy, all that doesn't matter. So I'm going to listen to my body, and go as it tells me."
Tue, 23 Jul 2013 08:18:40 -0700
Chicago Bears WRs Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffery and Earl Bennett are locks for the 53-man roster, but after that it is wide open. WRs Joe Anderson and Eric Weems might lock up a fourth receiver job, and could be battling each other since they are each solid on special teams. WR Devin Aromashodu is in the mix for a job, and then there is seventh-round pick Marquess Wilson and WR Devin Hester, who is more known for his prowess as a return man. The team is likely to keep five receivers plus Hester.

Mentally he's been locked in since we got started," receivers coach Mike Groh said Friday, June 14. "He's made good improvement on the field with things (we) wanted to work on, and in terms of grasp of offense, he's where he should be."

"I just wanted to learn from someone different and do thing different," Jeffery said Sunday, April 21. "Plus, he's a Pro Bowl player. I want to see what it takes." When he arrived at Fit Speed, Jeffery weighed in at 225 pounds with a body fat percentage of 11 or 12 percent. When he checked out a few weeks ago, Jeffery weighed 219 pounds with eight percent body fat.
Fantasy Tip: The dedication and hard work is good news for Jeffery, as conditioning was one of the biggest knocks on him coming out of South Carolina. He has big-play ability, and could be a solid WR2/3 or flex fantasy option in 2013 if he continues to work hard.

Sat, 22 Dec 2012 05:47:51 -0800
The Chicago Bears coaching staff is concerned WR Alshon Jeffery's play could be affected by three offensive pass interference penalties in Week 15. The team does not want Jeffery to change the way he plays. "The thing I'm trying to make sure of is that it doesn't destroy him from a mental standpoint," said receivers coach Darryl Drake. "He's fragile right now but that's part of it ... Are you going to sit back and sulk or are you going to do something about it? You've still got to play the game physical so you can't give in on that. You have to turn it into something positive."
