Thu, 25 Jul 2013 11:20:54 -0700
Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert has the ability of lining up at any receiver position and showed he can be an effective blocker in the running game. Eifert could see time in the slot this season. "I just learned there's really nothing that he can't do. He's smart and he can block and can line up all the routes. He can line up outside in the slot and at tight end, and I think he's going to be a major, major player around here for a lot of years," offensive coordinator Jay Gruden said.
Fantasy Tip: It appears like Eifert will have a solid role in the offense this season but probably will not be the starting tight end. He should be considered a low-end No. 2 fantasy tight end entering drafts.

Thu, 06 Jun 2013 10:13:49 -0700
Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden thinks the offense is due to make big improvements in the right direction this year after the team drafted TE Tyler Eifert and RB Giovani Bernard. Gruden has been pleased with the way the players have adjusted and adapted to his installation of a new offense during organized team activities. He's also happy with increased repetitions for QB Andy Dalton and the improvements of the skill players. "The thing about our offense is they came back and are willing to work hard, they are all unselfish and have a great understanding of what it is going to take for us to get to the next level," Gruden said. The offense has run some no-huddle plays this week and Dalton likes the look it gives the team.
Fantasy Tip: We have high hopes, as do most people, for the Bengals offense this season in Dalton's third year. A.J. Green has plenty of help in the receiving game, and the running game has some nice depth. Dalton could be a very capable fantasy backup QB with the potential to perform as a No. 1 many weeks.

It is hard to tell from him whether things are going good or bad. He would be a great poker player that way."

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton has, during organized team activities, been focusing on improving the trajectory and accuracy of his throws while working with quarterbacks coach Ken Zampese. Dalton also is practicing a quicker dropback in the pocket. The club is hoping first-round TE Tyler Eifert will help stretch the offense so defensive attention doesn't squarely target WR A.J. Green.
Fantasy Tip: Along with rookie RB Giovani Bernard, Dalton has been awarded some underrated offensive depth that could raise his already solid ceiling as a high-end fantasy QB2. Getting more yardage out of his attempts would produce a breakthrough campaign, and your competitors may not notice or care leading up to draft day.

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert lined up at tight end on both ends of the offensive line as well as a slot receiver during the team's rookie minicamp. Eifert said he believes he is picking up the offense relatively quick.

Notre Dame TE Tyler Eifert saw his numbers slip last year with the Fighting Irish, as they were more of a run-first offense. He had just 50 receptions for 685 yards and four touchdowns, but that didn't bother one NFL scout. "He'll probably go somewhere in the middle of the first round (of the NFL Draft), somewhere in the teens," the scout said Sunday, March 3. "And somebody is going to get a real good player there." Eifert is considered by some the best tight end coming into the draft since San Francisco 49ers TE Vernon Davis was selected No. 6 overall in 2006.
