Seahawks | Russell Wilson hasn't ruled out baseball

Fri, 03 Jul 2015 14:18:05 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson said he would consider playing professional baseball in addition to professional football if he were traded to the Seattle Mariners.

Fantasy Tip: This is obviously a hypothetical and farfetched situation, but Wilson did say it's been a dream of his to play both sports professionally. Focusing on football, however, Wilson remains one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in the NFL. His running ability gives him a big boost in fantasy realms. He should be drafted as a top-five quarterback this year.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson will be ready to play

Tue, 30 Jun 2015 11:58:03 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson said he will be ready to play this season whether he's making $25 million or $1.5 million. Wilson has expressed his desire to stay in Seattle and added that, when the time comes, he will let his play do the talking.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson and a possible new contract have garnered a lot of attention this offseason. Wilson has been calm and collected about the situation, at least on the outside, and is primed to have another standout season, especially with new weapons like Jimmy Graham. Wilson should be drafted as a top-five fantasy quarterback.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson wants to stay put?

Sun, 28 Jun 2015 21:00:15 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson said the goal is to remain in Seattle for "a really, really long time" when asked about his contract situation at the Russell Wilson Passing Academy Saturday, June 27.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson has sent mixed messages this offseason, hinting that he would be willing to leave Seattle and now saying he hopes to stay. Either way, he should be a low-end QB1 in 2015 after Jimmy Graham was added to the offense in the offseason.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson wants guaranteed money

Sat, 27 Jun 2015 14:49:20 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson wants a considerable portion of his next contract to be guaranteed. This is considered the biggest stumbling block in Wilson's extension talks, as the league's funding rule requires all money of any future payments to be paid into escrow upon signing.

Fantasy Tip: Seahawks owner Paul Allen certainly has the financial means to make this work, so it shouldn't be too big of a concern. Either way, Wilson seems dead set on getting what he wants during contract talks, and the NFLPA may need to step in at some point.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson looking for big deal

Fri, 26 Jun 2015 12:12:59 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson is looking to become the highest-paid player in the league with his next contract, according to sources. Wilson's agent understands that any contract extension Wilson receives will be surpassed by another player in the future.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson will be entering the final year of his contract, so the team has time to reach a long-term agreement. He is coming off a solid season with 3,475 passing yards and 20 touchdowns and now has Jimmy Graham to throw to this season. Owners should consider Wilson as a low-end No. 1 quarterback with a chance to improve his value.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson ready to move on?

Tue, 23 Jun 2015 11:07:19 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson, who is believed to be seeking a five-year deal worth more than $110 million, sounded as if he's ready to move on from the Seahawks if his contract situation isn't resolved. He's in the fourth and final year of his rookie contract that will pay him $2.99 million if he doesn't agree to a new deal. Seattle could place the franchise tag on Wilson next year, which would cost them more than $23 million for 2016.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson is likely just posturing as he and the team continue contract negotiations on a long-term extension. We fully expect Wilson to remain in Seattle long term. He'll enter the QB1 discussion in 2015 with Marshawn Lynch coming back and Jimmy Graham in the fold as an elite tight end option, especially near in the red zone.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson won't be distracted

Fri, 19 Jun 2015 11:44:34 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson won't let the prospect of a long-term deal distract him this season. Wilson said he hopes a deal gets done before training camp, but said if talks stretch into the season that he wouldn't let that affect what he does on the field.

Fantasy Tip: Not a lot of progress has been made with Wilson's deal. Deal or no deal, Wilson seems focused on the task at hand -- a third consecutive Super Bowl appearance. He's one of the most versatile passers, and fantasy quarterbacks, in the league and should be drafted in the top five at his position.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson to play with insurance

Tue, 16 Jun 2015 13:19:31 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson will play in the final year of his contract with an insurance policy in case he suffers a career-ending injury, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson continues to wait for a long-term extension as he plays out the contract from his rookie season. If anything, one would think Wilson would want to perform even better this season to prove that he deserves the extension he will indubitably receive. Draft Wilson as a top-five fantasy quarterback this year.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson deal by TC?

Tue, 09 Jun 2015 18:31:27 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson said Tuesday, June 9, the hope is that he and the team will agree on a new deal before the start of training camp.

Fantasy Tip: Neither Wilson or the Seahawks seem overly concerned, and neither should fantasy owners. With Marshawn Lynch coming back and Jimmy Graham having been brought in, Wilson will again be a top-10 quarterback in 2015.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson talks going slowly

Mon, 08 Jun 2015 11:49:48 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson's new contract talks aren't gaining steam, but a deal is still expected to get done. Wilson's agent has already said that the talks have been encouraging, but the Seahawks don't seem to be in a rush to get the deal done.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson said he would still play without the deal, but a long-term contract is well-deserved as Wilson is still in his rookie deal. His running ability combined with a solid arm easily make Wilson a top-ten fantasy quarterback for 2015.
