Seahawks | Russell Wilson has made strides

Wed, 22 Jun 2016 14:31:08 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson has made a clear step ahead this offseason, according to head coach Pete Carroll. "His command is all-time. His ability to move defenders with his eyes to set up some things, he's consistently doing that, almost unconsciously, he's so clued in," Carroll said. "We saw him throw the ball all over the field throughout the offseason and he's been strong and accurate and really precise about stuff. He has had a great offseason."

Fantasy Tip: Wilson is one of the better dual-threat quarterbacks in the league right now. He should be at least one of the first five quarterbacks taken in fantasy drafts.

Seahawks | Change in offense aided Russell Wilson

Sun, 19 Jun 2016 21:50:38 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson threw 24 touchdowns and one interception in the last seven games after the offense shifted to emphasize quicker passes, timing routes and spread formations. He was sacked 31 times in the first seven games and just 15 times in the last nine games as getting rid of the ball quickly helped negate struggles on the offensive line. Head coach Pete Carroll said to expect more of that in 2016.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson has always had Marshawn Lynch as a security blanket. Thomas Rawls impressed in a short window before breaking his ankle, but he isn't a sure thing like Beast Mode was. Wilson will have more responsibility on his shoulders to move the offense. He's a midrange option at the position in fantasy.

Seahawks | Trevone Boykin could be backup

Thu, 12 May 2016 15:47:15 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Trevone Boykin has a good shot at earning the backup quarterback position behind QB Russell Wilson, with only QB Jake Heaps with whom to compete. Head coach Pete Carroll thinks Boykin's style of play fits well with Seattle's offense and is similar to Wilson.

Fantasy Tip: Boykin does have an enticing skill set, but he won't have any fantasy value even if he earns the backup position as long as Russell Wilson is healthy.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson working with receivers

Sun, 10 Apr 2016 11:02:04 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson and WRs Tyler Lockett and Paul Richardson have been working out together at the University of Southern California.

Fantasy Tip: It's always encouraging when quarterbacks and wide receivers work together during the offseason. Lockett definitely has more upside than Richardson and is one of the more promising young deep threats in the NFL. Doug Baldwin, Lockett and Jermain Kearse figure to be Seattle's top three wide receivers. It's safer to stay away from Richardson for now.

NFL | Seahawks the youngest NFL team

Thu, 25 Feb 2016 15:41:24 -0800

The Seattle Seahawks and QB Russell Wilson qualify as the youngest team in the NFL entering the 2016 season with an average age of 23.53. The Los Angeles Rams (23.96), Green Bay Packers (24.13), Miami Dolphins (24.39) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (24.51) make up the rest of the top five.

Seahawks | Seattle wants to protect Russell Wilson

Tue, 16 Feb 2016 15:22:13 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson could lose impending free-agent OT Russell Okung and OG J.R. Sweezy in free agency, but Seattle's offseason focus will still be protecting their starting quarterback.

"I think that's a real area of focus again, so we'll be talking about it," head coach Pete Carroll said. "We've got a couple unrestricted guys [on the offensive line]. We're going to have to deal with how that works out. It's a really important area for us, of course."

Fantasy Tip: Ideally the Seahawks will re-sign both Okung and Sweezy, but that could be too tall of a task. Don't be surprised if the Seahawks draft and/or sign an offensive lineman, especially if they lose both Okung and Sweezy. Wilson was under pressure throughout the 2015 season without much time to throw without running. Nevertheless, Wilson should be viewed as a top-five fantasy quarterback in 2016.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson the Pro Bowl MVP

Mon, 01 Feb 2016 09:32:21 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson threw three first-half touchdowns in a winning effort for Team Irvin in the Pro Bowl Sunday, Jan. 31, to earn offensive Most Valuable Player honors. Wilson went 8-for-12 for 164 yards in the game.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson elevated his game to a new level in 2015, and he'll no longer be known as strictly a game manager that can make things happen with his legs. Wilson is a legitimate QB1 for fantasy drafts this fall.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson to study in offseason

Fri, 22 Jan 2016 10:36:58 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson, who led the league in passer rating (110.1) and set career highs in completion percentage (68.1%) and yards per attempt (8.3), will study defenses more this offseason, according to head coach Pete Carroll. Wilson tossed 24 touchdowns to just one interception in the final seven games of the regular season in 2015. Wilson improved against the blitz this year, too, with a 137.0 passer rating against five rushers or more in the final seven games.

"I think the first step is the knowledge," Wilson said Monday. "You want to continue to grow intellectually and master that part of it. Continue to work on that craft. I think that when you really mentally grasp the game of football, the game really, really slows down. And that's what was able to happen this year especially."

Fantasy Tip: Wilson went over 4,000 passing yards for the first time in his career as the Seahawks were forced to air it out after Marshawn Lynch went down. As a result Wilson soared to a new level, and his fantasy ceiling will be higher than ever as a legitimate QB1 in 2016.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson has an eventful game

Sun, 17 Jan 2016 14:34:24 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson went 31-for-48 for 366 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions in the divisional round playoff game against the Carolina Panthers Sunday, Jan. 17. He also rushed for 32 yards on three carries during the game.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson had a fantastic second half of the season and three at least two touchdowns in eight of his last nine games. Wilson will be a No. 1 quarterback in all leagues next season and could be an early-round option in some leagues.

NFL | Russell Wilson has Cam Newton's number

Wed, 13 Jan 2016 15:06:52 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson has a career record of 4-1 against Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton, including the playoffs. Newton and the Panthers beat Wilson and the Seahawks in Week 6 of this season, however. That was the first time Newton beat a Wilson-led Seattle squad. In those five games, Wilson has thrown seven touchdowns and three interceptions compared to Newton's four touchdowns and five interceptions. Wilson and Newton were also two of the hottest quarterbacks at the end of the season. From Week 11 to 17 Wilson threw 24 touchdowns and one interception while Newton tossed 20 scores and one interception.

Fantasy Tip: This matchup provides two of the best fantasy quarterbacks from the 2015 season. What's more intriguing about Wilson ($8,700, 17.4% of cap) and Newton ($9,000, 18.0%) facing each other is that they are two of the best running quarterbacks in football. Their respective defensive units are two of the most elite defenses in the NFL, too, so Wilson and Newton may not find as much success as they did towards the end of the season.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson has good record vs. CAR

Tue, 12 Jan 2016 14:03:26 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson holds a 3-1 record against the Carolina Panthers in his career. That one loss, however, came in Week 6 of this season.

Fantasy Tip: The wins are really all that matter for Wilson ($8,900, 17.8% of cap), but he has thrown four touchdowns and three interceptions in those four games. He did have a nice outing against them this year, though, throwing for 241 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions, and running for another 53 yards. Wilson faces a tough test in the Panthers, but he shouldn't be ruled out as your starting FantasyScore quarterback.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson has decent outing

Sun, 10 Jan 2016 14:30:24 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson went 13-for-26 for 142 yards, one touchdown and one interception during the wild-card playoff game against the Minnesota Vikings. He also rushed for 21 yards on five carries during the game.

Fantasy Tip: The Seahawks offense did not produce much but Wilson posted decent numbers during the game. Wilson will face the Carolina Panthers in the next round but could be a decent option on FantasyScore even though the Panthers have a terrific defense.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson won't use gloves

Fri, 08 Jan 2016 10:16:26 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson doesn't plan to use a glove on his throwing hand for the wild-card game against the Minnesota Vikings Sunday, Jan. 10, where the temperature calls for a high of 4 degrees. He will instead have hand warmers in his waist pocket to heat him up between plays. Wilson also thinks the size of his hands (10 1/4 inches) will help.

Wilson has one game outdoor in below-freezing temperatures, a 24-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs last year when he was 20-for-32 for 178 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. He also ran eight times for 71 yards.

Fantasy Tip: It's understandable to be hesitant to use Wilson ($8,900, 17.8% of cap) at such a high price on FantasyScore in a game that will feature freezing temperatures. Wilson is used to playing in cold weather for the most part, though, so the cold weather shouldn't be a huge factor in his performance either way.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson has owned Minnesota

Thu, 07 Jan 2016 18:23:08 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson faces the Minnesota Vikings in the wild-card round of the playoffs Sunday, Jan. 10, and he has thrown eight touchdowns and no interceptions in three career meetings with the Vikings.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson ($8,900, 17.8% of cap) has been on a roll heading into the playoffs, and his history of success against Minnesota makes his salary at FantasyScore even easier to justify.

NFL | Seahawks-Vikings game to be cold

Wed, 06 Jan 2016 10:03:19 -0800

The wild-card matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and Minnesota Vikings Sunday, Jan. 10, is expected to see a temperature in Minneapolis at a high of 1 degree, not counting the 10-15 mph wind-chill factor. Both Seahawks QB Russell Wilson and Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater have fared well in cold games in their careers. Wilson is 3-2 with a 66.9 completion percentage while averaging 258.4 passing yards and a 13-2 touchdown-to-interception ratio. Bridgewater is 6-3 with a 66.5 completion percentage while averaging 191.8 passing yards and a 12-5 touchdown-to-interception ratio.

Fantasy Tip: You should never make a final decision on a fantasy player based on cold weather. While both quarterbacks have played well in their careers in cold temperatures, you have to like Wilson ($8,900, 17.8% of cap) much more in this one on FantasyScore, even at the higher price. Bridgewater ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) has finished the season strong but has the unenviable task of facing the Legion of Boom.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson makes NFL history

Sun, 03 Jan 2016 16:39:15 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson became the first player in NFL history to record 4,000 pass yards, 30 pass touchdowns and 500 rush yards in a single season.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson is on quite the roll heading into the postseason, and he'll be a popular FantasyScore selection next weekend.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson stays hot

Sun, 20 Dec 2015 17:00:08 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson completed 21 of 30 passes for 249 and three touchdowns and ran five times for 46 yards in a 30-13 win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 15.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson has now thrown at least three touchdowns in five straight games, tallying 19 scores and no interceptions during the stretch. Throw in his running ability, and he is a must-start option at FantasyScore right now.

Seahawks | Pettine: Russell Wilson not elite

Wed, 16 Dec 2015 19:30:17 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson is not quite among the top tier of NFL quarterbacks, at least according to Cleveland Browns head coach Mike Pettine. "Would you put him there with the guys that can transcend their supporting cast? (Tom Brady), whether it's (Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Ben Roethlisberger), the ones that you would consider the two, three, four elite guys? No. But he's certainly played himself into that next tier," Pettine said Wednesday, Dec. 16.

Fantasy Tip: Why would the opposing coach open his mouth and say something potentially unflattering in the week prior to a game? It's great news for Wilson ($8,900, 17.8% of cap) FantasyScore owners and those in seasonal leagues heading into the Week 15 matchup. Wilson could enter with a chip on his shoulder, exceeding expectations.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson with five more scores

Sun, 13 Dec 2015 18:31:51 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson completed 23 of 32 passes for 292 yards and five touchdowns in a 35-6 win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 14.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson tied his career high for passing touchdowns, and he has 16 passing touchdowns over the last four games, throwing at least three scores in each game. He is a must-start at FantasyScore right now.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson on hot streak

Mon, 07 Dec 2015 14:17:44 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson has totaled 12 touchdowns (11 passing, 1 rushing) over his last three games while averaging 324.6 total yards over that span.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson has been an unstoppable force the last three weeks. His previous single-game high this year had been two touchdowns, but he has thrown at least three touchdowns in each of his last three contests. He should continue to be viewed as a solid QB1 even without Jimmy Graham.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson accounts for four TDs

Sun, 06 Dec 2015 13:39:31 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson went 21-for-27 for 274 and three touchdowns against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 13. Wilson also rushed for 51 yards and one touchdown on nine carries.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson is on a hot streak and as thrown 11 touchdowns in his last three games. He will be facing the Baltimore Ravens next week and should be a solid starting option in all fantasy leagues.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson excelling in pocket

Tue, 01 Dec 2015 13:58:11 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson has a completion percentage of 83.3% on throws inside the pocket the last two weeks. He has thrown for 554 yards, eight touchdowns and zero interceptions on those throws.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson ($7,600, 15.2% of cap) has certainly improved in recent weeks, partly due to better protection from the Seahawks' offensive line. Wilson has been given more time to throw, and he's taken advantage of that. It might be hard for Wilson to keep his momentum going against a solid Minnesota Vikings defense this week, but he still shouldn't be overlooked on FantasyScore.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson tosses five TDs

Sun, 29 Nov 2015 17:23:03 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson completed 21 of 30 pass attempts for 345 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 12 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He also ran four times for 14 yards.

Fantasy Tip: It was Wilson's first 300-yard game of the season, and after throwing 10 touchdowns in the first nine games he has eight touchdown strikes over the past two outings.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson tosses three TDs

Sun, 22 Nov 2015 20:31:15 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson completed 24 of his 29 pass attempts for 260 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 11 game against the San Francisco 49ers. He also ran nine times for 30 yards.

Fantasy Tip: It was Wilson's first multi-touchdown game since Week 2 at Green Bay. The three touchdowns were a season best, and his yardage total was his second-highest total of the season.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson has so-so outing

Sun, 15 Nov 2015 22:41:58 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson completed just 14 of his 32 pass attempts for 240 yards, one touchdowns and one interception in the Week 10 loss against the Arizona Cardinals. He also ran six times for a team-high 52 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson has struggled more this season than in recent years, and something just appears off with the Seattle offense. Sure, the Seahawks scored 32 points, but nearly half of those came as a result of turnovers created by the defense.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson has hurt Arizona

Fri, 13 Nov 2015 13:55:13 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson had 73 yards on 10 carries in his second matchup against the Arizona Cardinals last year. He had 88 rushing yards on six carried, including a five-yard touchdown run against them earlier in 2014.

Fantasy Tip: The Cardinals defense is no joke and will make it tough on Wilson ($7,700, 15.4% of cap) to make plays in the pocket, which means he might need to make plenty of plays on his own with his legs. Don't count Wilson out on FantasyScore as a contrarian play at home.

Seahawks | Big week for Russell Wilson?

Tue, 20 Oct 2015 19:38:35 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson will face the San Francisco 49ers in Week 7 Thursday, Oct. 22. The 49ers are last in the NFL, allowing 306.2 passing yards per game with 11 passing touchdowns and an opponent QB rating of 101.7. The 49ers have also been dinged for 24 pass plays of 20 or more yards, and six pass plays of 40 or more yards.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson ($7,800, 15.6% of cap) is a dual-threat who can beat teams with his arm and his feet. In this one, he could look downfield rather frequently, piling up plenty of yardage along the way against a very leaky pass defense.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson throwing ball quickly

Sat, 10 Oct 2015 12:01:35 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson is releasing the football quicker than he ever has. It is taking Wilson just 2.58 seconds to throw this year, according to ESPN Stats and Information. The third-year quarterback is also throwing shorter passes, averaging 6.6 yards per attempt.

Fantasy Tip: More pressure has been put on Wilson this year, literally and figuratively, with Marshawn Lynch being hampered and with a more penetrable offensive line. For the most part, Wilson ($7,800, 15.6% of cap) has been up to the task. He doesn't have the best matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals this week, but he's capable of doing well week in and week out.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson running for his life

Fri, 09 Oct 2015 10:38:50 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson has gained 135 of his 177 rushing yards this year on scrambles. He's been sacked 18 times through four games, which is tied for the most in the league. Seattle continues to look for ways to better protect their quarterback, but Wilson said he is physically fine. "I try to take care of my body," Wilson said. "I feel great today. I feel 100%. That's what you work out for all offseason, get ready for. I should have played tennis then otherwise. I'm expected to get hit every once in awhile. You go in there, and mentally you have to be ready for a physical game, and that's how we play football."

Fantasy Tip: Wilson's ($7,800, 15.6% of cap) elite scrambling ability and his ability to extend plays out of nothing are a few of the reasons why he's in a firm spot to be a solid QB1 for fantasy owners this year. However, with a shaky offensive line, it could continue to be a struggle for him to put up points. The Bengals should give him fits in the backfield, making him a shaky daily pick on FantasyScore.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson under a lot of duress

Tue, 06 Oct 2015 13:22:06 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson was under plenty of duress in the win over the Detroit Lions in Week 4 Monday, Oct. 5, and he was sacked six times in the game for the second time this season. Wilson has already been sacked 18 times this year, which is tied for the most in the NFL. He also lost two fumbles as a result Monday, and Wilson has turned the ball over nine times in his last six games. Head coach Pete Carroll said the offensive line is a "work in progress."

Fantasy Tip: Wilson ($7,800, 15.6% of cap) made some amazing plays to keep plays alive and avoid sacks Monday night and is firmly in the QB1 picture for fantasy owners this season. However, if the offensive line continues to struggle, Wilson could be on the run even more. The fact that the running game has been disappointing and Marshawn Lynch (hamstring) is injured might make it tough for Wilson to deliver on his FantasyScore price point against solid defenses moving forward.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson has so-so night

Mon, 05 Oct 2015 22:20:56 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson completed 20 of his 26 pass attempts for 287 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in the Week 4 game against the Detroit Lions Monday, Oct. 5. He also ran 10 times for 40 yards and lost a pair of fumbles.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson ($7,800, 15.6% of cap) and the Seahawks hit the road to play the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 5. It's a good, but not great matchup for Wilson against a middle-of-the-road passing defense. FantasyScore players can likely spend their money better elsewhere.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson more accurate

Mon, 05 Oct 2015 14:35:13 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson has the eighth-highest completion percentage among qualified quarterbacks at 70% entering the Week 4 game against the Detroit Lions Monday, Oct. 5, which is seven percentage points above his career average. Wilson has been throwing shorter on average than ever before, and his average pass distance has dropped from 9.1 yards in his rookie season in 2012 to just 6.4 this year. That ranks him 30th in the NFL. He has just eight off-target passes this year in 101 pass attempts, too, which is lowest in the league. Wilson's completion percentage on passes 10 yards or fewer from the line of scrimmage is up from 69% to 71% this year, but he is showing the most improvement on intermediate passes; he's tied with New England Patriots QB Tom Brady for the highest completion percentage on passes 11-20 yards in the air at 81%. Wilson has only tried six passes 20 yards or more downfield this year, which is tied for 30th in the league.

Fantasy Tip: The Seahawks continue to be more of a run-first team, even with Marshawn Lynch banged up to begin the year. Wilson's improvement in accuracy can be attributed to Seattle's lack of a true deep threat but also his maturity as a quarterback overall. He has become a legitimate No. 1 fantasy QB this year and will be a strong option on FantasyScore against a weak Lions secondary Monday night.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson encouraged to run

Wed, 23 Sep 2015 10:27:32 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson was encouraged to use his legs in Week 2 against the Green Bay Packers, and he ran 10 times for 78 yards on designed plays, reads and scrambles. RB Marshawn Lynch has yet to get going, so the Seahawks will continue to count on Wilson's scrambling abilities.

Fantasy Tip: It's yet another reason why fantasy owners were comfortable taking Wilson ($7,800, 15.6% of cap) as their starting quarterback this year. After a slow start for Seattle, they should be able to break out against the Chicago Bears in Week 3, making Wilson a fine pick on FantasyScore.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson has mediocre night

Sun, 20 Sep 2015 22:45:21 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson completed 19 of his 30 pass attempts for 206 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in the Week 2 game against the Green Bay Packers. He also ran 10 times for a team-high 78 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson ($8,100, 16.2% of cap) did not come close to earning his FantasyScore salary. He should post huge numbers in Week 3 against the Chicago Bears, a team which has been torn apart in Week 1 by Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers and in Week 2 by Arizona Cardinals' Carson Palmer.

Seahawks | Seattle could play faster

Mon, 14 Sep 2015 11:45:21 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson and the rest of the offense could move more quickly from now on after achieving success with their no-huddle offense in Week 1. Wilson said the no-huddle offense was able to put pressure on the St. Louis Rams' defense. Wilson added that it's something Seattle should continue to do if they're struggling. Notably, the Seahawks were the second-slowest offense last year, running a play every 29.38 seconds. Wilson said he'd also like to get the ball out of his hands quicker.

Fantasy Tip: The Seahawks did seem to play better when they played faster. It would make sense for them to implement that more into their offense if they see more success with it. Wilson played well despite Seattle losing. He's still an every-week starter.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson strong vs. STL

Wed, 09 Sep 2015 20:13:51 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson will start against the St. Louis Rams in Week 1. He passed for 552 yards with two touchdowns and an interception in two games against the Rams in 2014, and he ran 13 times for 113 yards and a score.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson ($8,100, 16.2% of cap) is an expensive FantasyScore play on the road against an improving defense in St. Louis. Still, he is a rare dual-threat QB in the NFL, and he could still pile up a decent stat line despite the opponent.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson not worried about offense

Thu, 03 Sep 2015 14:41:53 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson is not worried that the starting offense has not scored a touchdown in the preseason, because they performed well during practice. "We're not far away," Wilson said. "We've had some unbelievable practices. We go against one of the best defenses in the National Football League every day. Our offense is really clicking in practice; we just haven't translated it quite yet in terms of finishing the drive on game day, but we will. I completely believe that. I believe that because of how we practice. I believe that because we show it in practice every day."

Fantasy Tip: Fantasy owners would like to see better results from the offense during the preseason but it should not be a big deal. Wilson could be considered a No. 1 quarterback most weeks because of his ability to produce with his arm and his legs. Marshawn Lynch is one of the better running backs in fantasy and should be selected in one of the first two rounds of drafts. Jimmy Graham will help the team's passing game and should be one of the first tight ends selected in drafts.

Seahawks | Jimmy Graham showing chemistry

Fri, 21 Aug 2015 21:47:51 -0700

Seattle Seahawks TE Jimmy Graham caught three passes from QB Russell Wilson for 39 yards in a preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs Friday, Aug. 21.

Fantasy Tip: Graham's numbers are likely to decline in Seattle, but he could still be the best fantasy tight end not named Rob Gronkowski. He should still be considered a high-end TE1 with his new team.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson may not receive new deal

Thu, 30 Jul 2015 10:54:21 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson is talking with the Seahawks about a contract extension, but the two sides may not reach an agreement before the start of training camp, according to sources. The two sides do not appear to be in agreement about the amount of money up front or the guaranteed money.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson is not expected to hold out if he does not receive an extension, so he will play this season. Wilson has the ability to produce as a passer as well as a runner, which gives him an advantage over other quarterbacks. He should be a solid starting option in all leagues.

Still, Wilson hasn't turned the deal down yet. If both sides don't agree to a new deal soon, Wilson and the Seahawks will have to wait until after the season to try to get a deal done.

Fantasy Tip: It would be better for both parties to get a deal done before training camp starts. Wilson has said he will stay focused on the game this season even if an extension isn't reached. Seahawks | Russell Wilson offered a deal?

Sat, 25 Jul 2015 12:43:03 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson has supposedly been offered a contract extension that would pay him about $21 million per year. The deal would also include a significant amount of guaranteed money. If Wilson does not agree to a deal before training camp or the regular season starts, he could very well be given the franchise tag after this season.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson has shown he deserves a hefty long-term deal. It's hard to imagine one not getting done at some point. Wilson has said he's focused on this season whether he signs a new deal or not. He should be selected as a top-five fantasy quarterback.

Seahawks | No progress on Russell Wilson deal?

Thu, 23 Jul 2015 18:27:07 -0700

Seattle Seahawks LB Bobby Wagner could agree to a long-term deal by the start of training camp, and the team's focus on Wagner's deal could be a sign of little progress with the negotiations for QB Russell Wilson, according to NFL Network's Rand Getlin.

Fantasy Tip: Regardless of whether Wilson agrees to an extension, he should be considered a solid QB1 in 2015 with top five upside at his position thanks to his scrambling ability.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson wants free-agent money

Thu, 16 Jul 2015 14:20:18 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson has not yet entered free agency, but he does want to be paid like that is the case. He also wants a fully guaranteed contract. If a deal does not get done by the time training camp starts, Wilson could very likely be given the franchise tag next season that will be worth at least $25 million, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson's current contract and an extension have been an issue for a while now, and it probably won't end any time soon. Again, Wilson will be focusing on football no matter what happens. He has a top-three fantasy quarterback ceiling heading into his fourth season in the NFL.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson, SEA not close on contract

Thu, 16 Jul 2015 14:12:46 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson and the organization are still not close in their negotiations on an extension. Negotiations should increase leading up to training camp, but are expected to cease once training camp commences.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson has already iterated and reiterated that whether or not an extension does get done, he will be focusing on football this season, not his contract. Wilson has far exceeded expectations in his first three seasons, becoming the best dual-threat quarterback in the league, maybe aside from Cam Newton. Wilson is once again capable of putting up top-five numbers in fantasy leagues at the quarterback position this year.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson not worried about contract

Wed, 15 Jul 2015 17:58:42 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson reiterated Wednesday, July 15, he's not worried about his looming contract issue. "I love Seattle, it's a great city," Wilson continued. "I'm going to play my butt off every day. That's all I know, and we'll see what happens." Wilson's rookie contract expires at the end of the 2015 season.
