Seahawks | Russell Wilson strong in Week 2

Fri, 18 Aug 2017 22:21:21 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson was 13-of-18 for 206 yards and a pair of touchdowns Friday, Aug. 18, in a 20-13 win over the Minnesota Vikings.

Fantasy Tip: Seattle didn't dip heavily into its passing game as evidenced by Wilson's 18 throws, but he looked solid midway through the preseason. Wilson grades out now as a mid-range QB1 on a strong Seahawks squad.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson sheds weight

Thu, 29 Jun 2017 07:14:24 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson shed 11 pounds in the offseason after working with a nutritionist. He weighed 225 pounds with 16 percent body fat in March and recently weighed 214 pounds with 10 percent body fat.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson rushed for a career-low 259 yards last season after a high-ankle sprain and a sprained medial collateral ligament. It was a borderline miracle that he didn't miss a game despite those debilitating injuries. He threw for a career-high 4,219 yards with his second-best completion percentage at 64.7 percent. Wilson is a bounce-back candidate as an upper-middle QB1.

Seahawks | Jimmy Graham in sync with QB

Sat, 24 Jun 2017 20:22:30 -0700

Seattle Seahawks TE Jimmy Graham has been more of a complete player than expected and one of QB Russell Wilson's favorite weapons, according to head coach Pete Carroll. "He and Russell are really tuned in," Carroll said. "They spend a lot of time together."

Fantasy Tip: Graham returned to form last year, and he looks locked in as a dependable TE1 heading into 2017.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson back at full speed

Thu, 01 Jun 2017 18:32:42 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson has looked great throwing the ball and "great moving around" during OTAs, according to head coach Pete Carroll, and Carroll said he believes Wilson can be the best quarterback in the NFL.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson was hampered by injuries throughout last season, but he was still a low-end QB1 for fantasy owners. He is now the focal point of Seattle's offense, and his scrambling ability gives him enormous upside.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson hosting workouts

Fri, 14 Apr 2017 19:01:42 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson hosted voluntary workouts ahead next week's official OTAs. "It's about bringing guys together to work and be on the same page, communication, getting the signals down right, getting the routes, and the depth and the timing and everything in sync," Wilson said.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson was banged up most of last year, but he still finished as a QB1. With his running ability, his ceiling is as high as any player at the position.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson made history last year

Tue, 21 Feb 2017 15:53:38 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson became the fastest quarterback to win 50 games in NFL history. Wilson has started for the Seahawks since the first game of his rookie season in 2012 and has not missed a game since then. He is tied with Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan for the most wins in a quarterback's first five seasons (56).

Fantasy Tip: Wilson struggled with injuries through the first several games of last season, but his toughness prevailed. Despite throwing just 21 touchdowns, Wilson still achieved QB1 status, partly thanks to his running ability. As long as he remains healthy, Wilson should be drafted as a QB1.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson had issues on the road

Thu, 26 Jan 2017 10:24:25 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson threw for 2,038 yards, eight touchdowns and eight interceptions on the road this season. He threw for 2,181 yards, 13 touchdowns and three interceptions at home.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson played well at times this season but ranked in the top five in terms of sacks, which affected his stats during the year. He will have plenty of weapons to work with in the passing game in 2017 and can be a solid No. 1 quarterback for fantasy owners.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson up and down in loss

Sat, 14 Jan 2017 17:44:00 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson completed 17 of his 30 pass attempts for 225 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions and ran six times for 49 yards in a 36-20 loss to the Atlanta Falcons Saturday, Jan. 14.

Fantasy Tip: Injuries and a leaky offensive line hampered Wilson for much of the year, but he still has a high ceiling thanks to his running ability. If you can grab him at a discounted price, don't hesitate to draft him as your QB1 in 2017.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson may shed knee brace

Thu, 05 Jan 2017 07:20:05 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson (knee) may shed the knee brace he has worn since suffering a sprained medial collateral ligament in Week 3 for the playoffs. "I don't know if he's 100 percent," offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell said. "He's probably not running 4.4 like he did when he was coming out of the combine, but obviously he still runs well enough to be able to do the things we need him to do."

Fantasy Tip: Wilson has been markedly limited since his knee injury as he ran for a career-low 259 yards and hasn't been able to improvise or execute bootlegs as well. The Detroit Lions have been susceptible to opposing QBs the final five weeks, but their top corner Darius Slay (hamstring) was hurt for a lot of that. Wilson is a decent QB1 with what is there to choose from in playoff formats.
