Broncos | Ronnie Hillman could return

Fri, 26 Dec 2014 15:53:49 -0800

Denver Broncos RB Ronnie Hillman (foot) practiced in full for the third straight day Friday, Dec. 26, and is probable for Week 17 against the Oakland Raiders. "He has good burst, good explosion, same things that you saw before the injury. He looks to be back in that form," said head coach John Fox. "We will see how it goes. He hasn't played football in about six weeks or so always get a little nervous about that but he has had a good week of preparation." Fox said the team will know roughly 90 minutes before kickoff if Hillman will be active. Offensive coordinator Adam Gase said the team would play to Hillman's strengths if he's active.

Fantasy Tip: If Hillman returns against the Raiders this weekend, he'll likely be eased back in, with C.J. Anderson continuing as the team's lead back. That makes Hillman a very risky option at FantasyScore in Week 17. It's best to hold off and see how Denver uses him if he's active.

Broncos | Ronnie Hillman practices

Thu, 25 Dec 2014 15:21:01 -0800

Denver Broncos RB Ronnie Hillman (foot) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 25.

Fantasy Tip: Hillman should have a role in the offense in Week 17, but it may be a limited role since he has missed several weeks of the season. Owners on FantasyScore probably should be able to find better options to use.

Broncos | Ronnie Hillman upgraded in practice

Wed, 24 Dec 2014 15:34:13 -0800

Denver Broncos RB Ronnie Hillman (foot) returned to a full practice Wednesday, Dec. 24. It was Hillman's first full practice since he sprained his foot Nov. 9. "He's obviously further ahead than he was this time a week ago," head coach John Fox said. "The fact that we're on grass, not on (artificial) turf, (there are) a lot of variables, but I like what I see."

Fantasy Tip: Hillman ($5,555) is close to returning to action for the Broncos, but it's unknown if it'll come this week in a great matchup against the Oakland Raiders. He could be eased in in Week 17, but he's unlikely to see enough touches to be a real serious play at FantasyScore.

Broncos | No company for C.J. Anderson

Mon, 22 Dec 2014 16:11:57 -0800

Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson is expected to start in Week 16 against the Cincinnati Bengals Monday, Dec. 22, and he does not have to worry about RB Ronnie Hillman (foot), who is inactive.

Fantasy Tip: Anderson will likely get a lion's share of the carries with Hillman sidelined yet again, with Juwan Thompson also factoring in for a handful of touches. But the top fantasy option in the backfield will be Anderson.

Broncos | Limited practice for Ronnie Hillman

Fri, 19 Dec 2014 13:19:05 -0800

Denver Broncos RB Ronnie Hillman (foot) was limited in practice for the second straight day Friday, Dec. 19.

Fantasy Tip: Hillman ($3,500) is getting closer to a return to the field, but it remains to be seen if he can play Monday night against the Cincinnati Bengals. Regardless, C.J. Anderson ($7,600) is the guy to start at FantasyScore. If Hillman is playing, he probably won't see enough touches to be relevant in daily games.

Broncos | Ronnie Hillman limited Thursday

Thu, 18 Dec 2014 15:21:30 -0800

Denver Broncos RB Ronnie Hillman (foot) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, Dec. 18.

Fantasy Tip: There's a chance Hillman ($3,500) can return to action Monday night against the Cincinnati Bengals, but he's likely to be behind C.J. Anderson for touches in the backfield. Still, Hillman could be worth a look as a deep sleeper at a FantasyScore flex spot if he's active.

Broncos | Hopeful Ronnie Hillman returns

Wed, 17 Dec 2014 22:00:34 -0800

The Denver Broncos are hopeful RB Ronnie Hillman (foot) will be able to return for the Week 16 game against the Cincinnati Bengals Monday, Dec. 22, or for the regular season finale against the Oakland Raiders Sunday, Dec. 28.

Fantasy Tip: At this point, even if Hillman can return FantasyScore owners will want to avoid him. Generally it's a good idea to wait to see a guy prove his health in a full game before risking salary on him. Time is running out unless you plan on playing FantasyScore into the NFL postseason.

Broncos | C.J. Anderson's workload to be monitored?

Wed, 17 Dec 2014 11:50:04 -0800

Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson has averaged 27.25 carries in the last four games, and his workload may need to be monitored by the team as the playoffs approach. However, it helps that Anderson started his midseason run with a completely fresh body since not being a featured back since his sophomore year in college. Denver had planned to cut Anderson's carries in Week 15 against the San Diego Chargers, but QB Peyton Manning falling ill changed the game plan. In the last two weeks, Anderson has 50 carries for 143 yards for a 2.9 yards-per-carry average. Before that, he was averaging 5.4 yards per carry. RB Ronnie Hillman (foot) is hoping to return in Week 16 against the Cincinnati Bengals, which could take some pressure off Anderson.

Fantasy Tip: Anderson ($7,600) still remains a very safe option at FantasyScore right now with the Broncos' move to a heavy ground attack. As mentioned by Klis, the Bengals are one of the worst run defenses in the league, so the Broncos figure to attack them heavily on the ground, making Anderson a good daily option. Hillman's status for this week is unknown, making him too risky, even for $3,500.
