St. Louis Rams WR Brian Quick is stepping up his game heading into the 2014 season, and earning praise from his coaches. "He knows he's got to pick it up," wide receivers coach Ray Sherman said. "He knows that. And that's the thing with young receivers — some guys come along faster than others. We knew this was gonna be a big year for him, and he's really shown that he's ready to accept that challenge."
Fantasy Tip: Even with Quick making plays in preseason games, at this point he should still be considered a late-round pick on draft day.

St. Louis Rams WR Chris Givens has been surpassed on the depth chart by WRs Kenny Britt, Tavon Austin, Stedman Bailey and Brian Quick, and Givens may be a bubble in terms of final roster cuts.
Fantasy Tip: Givens has promise, but there is a logjam at the position. Bailey is suspended the first four games, and Givens has a chance to prove himself again. Givens is a final-round flier as a WR5 or WR6.

St. Louis Rams WR Brian Quick hooked up with QB Sam Bradford on a couple of deeps balls in team drills Tuesday, July 29, and has enjoyed a strong camp overall, according to ESPN.com's Nick Wagoner.
Fantasy Tip: Quick has yet to live up to his draft position, but it looks like he could be developing into Bradford's go-to target. He is at least worth a late-round flier in fantasy drafts.
Mon, 14 Jul 2014 06:00:32 -0700
St. Louis Rams WR Brian Quick has developed into a good run blocker on the edge, but that has been his greatest contribution thus far.
Mon, 23 Jun 2014 15:30:35 -0700
St. Louis Rams WR Brian Quick is the team's most improved player, according to offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer. Schottenheimer said Quick is competing for playing time and is the most of his opportunities.
Fantasy Tip: The Rams wide receiving corps has marginal value behind Tavon Austin. Kenny Britt, Brian Quick and Chris Givens will all compete for playing time and targets. Until their individual roles are settled all three remain late-round targets on draft day.
Wed, 11 Jun 2014 09:53:56 -0700
The St. Louis Rams did not select a wide receiver with any of their 12 selections in this year's draft, and head coach Jeff Fisher said they are happy and confident with the group of young receivers they have on their roster. St. Louis ranked 29th in the league in receiving yards last year, 26th in yards per catch and were tied for 20th in receiving touchdowns. WR Tavon Austin came on strong late in his rookie year, and WRs Chris Givens and Brian Quick are expected to do more in their third seasons with QB Sam Bradford coming off an injury. WR Stedman Bailey will miss the first four games of the season due to a suspension, but the team also took a chance on WR Kenny Britt.
Fantasy Tip: Austin should be primed to take the next step in his sophomore season. One of the big reasons why the Rams' offense sputtered so much over the course of the season was because Bradford wasn't around. With a healthy Bradford, all of St. Louis' aerial weapons should benefit.
Fri, 28 Mar 2014 06:01:32 -0700
St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher praised Clemson WR Sammy Watkins' talent, but he also said he likes what the team has at receiver. "I think with what we have on the roster right now, we can provide (quarterback) Sam (Bradford) with the talent to where we can win a lot of games," Fisher said. "We're expecting improvement. We're still seeing improvement from (receivers), for example, Brian Quick, Chris Givens who are going into their third year."
Tue, 27 Aug 2013 09:00:40 -0700
The St. Louis Rams might only keep five wide receivers to start the regular season due to injuries at the tight end position. WRs Tavon Austin, Stedman Bailey, Chris Givens, Austin Pettis and Brian Quick are considered the "big five." WRs Emory Blake, Nick Johnson and Justin Veltung are believed to be battling for the sixth receiver job.
Fantasy Tip: Even if Blake, Johnson or Veltung were to find their way onto the roster, they're a long way from having any fantasy appeal.
Tue, 16 Jul 2013 20:03:30 -0700
St. Louis Rams WRs Chris Givens and Austin Pettis are each listed as projected starters on the team's initial depth chart heading into training camp. WRs Tavon Austin, Stedman Bailey and Brian Quick are listed as 'key contributors'.
Fantasy Tip: There is still plenty to be hashed out during training camp and the preseason, but Givens is the best of the lot in terms of fantasy appeal due to his big-play ability.
Sun, 16 Jun 2013 20:44:04 -0700
St. Louis Rams WR Brian Quick reportedly had a disappointing spring, and he tumbled down the unofficial depth chart, working as the No. 4 receiver as organized team activities (OTAs) and minicamp ended. However, it is believed the rookie Tavon Austin, Chris Givens and Austin Pettis just had better practices, as offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer had good words for Quick. "(Quick's) doing a lot better. He's stepped up this year. He's just much more comfortable," Schottenheimer said.
Fantasy Tip: As such, unless Quick can work his way back into a starting role, or injuries strike others at the position, he is only worth a look in deeper fantasy leagues.
Wed, 12 Jun 2013 14:56:56 -0700
St. Louis Rams QB Sam Bradford is working with the same offensive coordinator in consecutive seasons for the first time in his career, but plenty has changed about the team's offense. With RB Steven Jackson gone, offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer will now run the O through Bradford while trying to bust more big plays. "The speed that we have acquired and what we have on the outside now -- and even the inside -- it suits us more to spread it out and play more one-back this year," Bradford said. He also thinks defenses will have to design specific coverages for some of the speed weapons, a reversal from St. Louis' more predictable offense last season.
Rookie WR Tavon Austin is lining up in the slot, on the outside and in the backfield. Schottenheimer said Austin Pettis has had the strongest offseason of any Rams wideout. TE Jared Cook and WR Brian Quick deepen the amount of players that St. Louis hopes bolsters their red-zone potency.
Fantasy Tip: This Rams offense boasts a lot of intrigue that'll come at cheap prices in fantasy drafts. Bradford's risk has a bit more of an attractive potential behind it as a fantasy backup. Austin may become overvalued eventually but would pass as a WR4 on draft day, along with Chris Givens, their biggest breakthrough player last year. Cook might be a borderline TE1 for most of the year, if not better. Pettis and Quick might be sneaky late-rounders or free-agent bids. You can't write off this offense anymore, at least not for the cost of its pieces.
Mon, 10 Jun 2013 05:54:27 -0700
St. Louis Rams WR Brian Quick has impressed with his play in OTAs. In the session Friday, June 7, he caught 17 or more passes from all over the field in all sorts of different routes.

Fri, 22 Mar 2013 19:03:44 -0700
The St. Louis Rams plan to lean on WR Austin Pettis and Brian Quick more in 2013 with WRs Danny Amendola (Patriots) and Brandon Gibson (Dolphins) leaving via free agency.
Fantasy Tip: Pettis and Quick might be decent late-round fantasy additions on Draft Day, but right now they should be considered as nothing more than WR4 or 5 with some upside.
Sun, 17 Feb 2013 17:49:14 -0800
If impending free-agent WRs Danny Amendola (Rams) and Brandon Gibson (Rams) are not brought back, that would leave St. Louis Rams WRs Chris Givens, Austin Pettis and Brian Quick as the only wideouts under contract with the team in 2013. However, head coach Jeff Fisher doesn't sound concerned either way, noting the team could look for help outside the organization. "Not a concern whatsoever," Fisher said. "There's options out there. The free-agent market, there's options out there, and it's a great draft for a receiver this year."

Marshall WR Aaron Dobson may see his draft stock rise after a good week at the Senior Bowl. "I think I've done pretty well," said Dobson in reference to his practice performance at the Senior Bowl in Mobile this week. "I think everybody is seeing what kind of receiver I am. I'm showcasing myself in front of a lot of talent out there. There's a lot of talent. I'm just trying to let everybody know that I deserve to be here and I can play." ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper thinks Dobson's stock is poised to rise. "He's a kid that could be a lot like Brian Quick was last year from Appalachian State," said Kiper. "Dobson is going to have a big Senior Bowl. He has size and didn't have a quarterback that could get him the ball on a consistent basis. He's very athletic. When he's had the opportunity to go up and make a play he's made it. He could be in the late first round discussion or certainly in the early to mid-second round discussion as a guy that nobody is talking about that could emerge."
Fri, 16 Nov 2012 13:18:59 -0800
St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher said the team will look to get WR Brian Quick more involved down the stretch. Quick has been limited to a handful of plays at wide receiver each week, but he's becoming more comfortable in a special teams role as the season progresses. Quick saw more action with WR Chris Givens disciplined last week, and he's learning to react more in his routes instead of thinking his way through them. Quick's touchdown play last week has given him the needed confidence moving forward.
Tue, 30 Oct 2012 19:59:52 -0700
St. Louis Rams WR Brian Quick has been slow to show much or play much, and he hasn't looked ready to play. The team's second-round draft pick has the size to give the team much-needed help in the red zone and on third down.

St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher wants to get WRs Chris Givens and Brian Quick time with the first-team offense in the preseason finale, although he also admitted WR Steve E. Smith hasn't had much chance to work with QB Sam Bradford either. "Yes, there's a chance I'll move them up. I'd like to see Givens and Quick in there, but they're all young receivers," Fisher said. "You take, for example, Steve Smith's case. He hasn't really had an opportunity to work with Sam. We'll play as many as we can earlier in the game and with the numbers down, they'll be playing throughout the game."
Tue, 21 Aug 2012 11:10:30 -0700
St. Louis Rams WR Brian Quick is having a terrific preseason, using his size to his advantage. While still playing with the second-team offense, Quick has stood out, and as Rams QB Sam Bradford pointed out, it appears that the light bulb has come on for him. The next step for Quick will be getting reps with the first-team offense.
Mon, 20 Aug 2012 13:10:06 -0700
St. Louis Rams rookie WRs Brian Quick and Chris Givens will both see action for the team. The straight ahead speed Givens brings to the table may allow him to see a bit more time than Quick, who has had some dropped balls and is still learning to use his size in the NFL.
Mon, 20 Aug 2012 12:53:29 -0700
St. Louis Rams rookie WR Brian Quick (back spasms) left the team's preseason game Saturday, Aug. 18, early with back spasms. The injury does not appear to be serious. Quick had three catches for 20 yards during the game and used his size to create problems for the defense. He just missed out on a potential 9-yard touchdown. If he keeps working hard, he could become an asset in the red zone.

St. Louis Rams WRs Danny Amendola, Chris Givens and Brian Quick are considered locks for the final roster.
Sun, 17 Jun 2012 10:38:38 -0700
The St. Louis Rams aren't going to ease rookie WR Brian Quick, a second-round draft choice, into the offense. Quick is being treated almost as a first-round pick, as the team needs him to step up immediately as a big-play receiver if they are going to have a more productive offense this year. The Rams are expecting him to dominate down field, be fearless over the middle, be bold and become a serious scoring threat for QB Sam Bradford. "I'm going to step up to the plate and make plays and do the things I need to do to help the team and be a better player," Quick said.
Fantasy Tip: Quick is an intriguing option for fantasy football squads this year, but you have to temper your expectations. Draft him as a WR4 or WR5; if he is able to quickly absorb everything, he could easily out-play his draft position.

St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher likes the potential of WR Brian Quick. "You know what was interesting, we went to Appalachian State last weekend and worked him out. Fri, 27 Apr 2012 16:02:27 -0700
The St. Louis Rams selected Appalachian State WR Brian Quick with the 33rd overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.
Fantasy Tip: Quick may not what he is in terms of producing in the NFL, as he comes from a small school and needs to acclimate himself to the pro game. The 6-foot-3 1/2, 220-pounder is a great red zone presence and is dangerous in the open field. more »
