Atlanta Braves SS Andrelton Simmons (undisclosed) is not the starting lineup Thursday, July 24, against the Miami Marlins. SS Ramiro Pena is playing shortstop and hitting eighth.
Fantasy Tip: Remove Simmons from any daily-transaction lineups. He has just three hits since the All-Star break, so it is likely a scheduled rest day to help him refocus.

Atlanta Braves 2B Tommy La Stella is manager Fredi Gonzalez's preferred No. 2 hitter, as opposed to SS Andrelton Simmons.
Fantasy Tip: La Stella's run-scoring potential is higher hitting in the two spot, increasing his fantasy value. Simmons struggles to get on base, so he is better suited lower in the order, where he'll see more RBI opportunities.

Atlanta Braves 2B Tommy La Stella is hitting in the leadoff spot in the team's new-look lineup Wednesday, June 18, with OF Jason Heyward moved to the fifth spot against the Philadelphia Phillies. Manager Fredi Gonzalez said he may give La Stella a long look in the top spot. La Stella is hitting .364 on the season. OF B.J. Upton and SS Andrelton Simmons are taking the day off.
Fantasy Tip: The move should boost La Stella's value slightly in the run-scoring category as the Braves look to take advantage of his contact and on-base skills. At this point, La Stella should be owned in the majority of leagues.

Atlanta Braves SS Andrelton Simmons, who says he's always had a full-effort swing, is working with hitting coaches Greg Walker and Scott Fletcher to control the aggression of his swings somewhat. Simmons has gotten stronger than his days in the minor leagues, which has limited the urgency to swing hard the majority of the time. "He's a high-effort guy with his swing, at times to a fault," Walker said. "And that's something that we're trying to ratchet down. But you are dealing with a kid that that's the way he's done it. He's learning. We're trying to get him to have the effort level where he can still be dangerous and not over swing, not max-effort swing every pitch." Simmons has seen progress, as he's starting to hit the ball the other way instead of trying to pull everything.
Fantasy Tip: Using the entire field should help Simmons improve his average, especially since he rarely walks and doesn't strike out all that much considering his typical high-effort hacks.
