Cardinals | Michael Floyd deal not imminent

Wed, 24 Feb 2016 13:05:33 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd won't have a new deal right away, according to general manager Steve Keim. Floyd is entering the final year of his rookie deal.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd has put together three solid seasons in a row, averaging 54.6 catches, 910.3 yards and 5.6 touchdowns. Last year was especially impressive coming off three dislocated fingers he suffered in training camp last year. As for 2016, he's in low-end WR3 to high-end WR4 range.

Cardinals | Michael Floyd came on late in season

Thu, 21 Jan 2016 16:58:14 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd caught 44 passes for 745 yards and six touchdowns in the final 10 games of the 2015 season. Through the first five games of the season he only caught eight passes for 104 yards with no scores. Head coach Bruce Arians believes that Floyd could have achieved 1,500 yards had he not broken his hand right before the regular season.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd was hampered by the hand injury, so that probably played a role in his slow start. He was also simply thrown the ball more often in the last 10 games. It's hard to predict week-to-week who will perform better among Arizona's wide receivers, but Floyd ($7,700, 15.4% of cap) is definitely still worth a look in your FantasyScore lineups this weekend.

Cardinals | Michael Floyd set for NFC title game

Wed, 20 Jan 2016 19:16:05 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd will meet the Carolina Panthers in the NFC Championship Game Sunday, Jan. 24. He posted three receptions for just 26 yards last weekend, but he scored twice against the Green Bay Packers.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd ($7,700, 15.4% of cap) is a tremendous threat in the red zone, and FantasyScore players will want to target him against a Carolina pass defense which ranked 11th in the NFL in the regular season, but allowed 21 passing scores.

Cardinals | Michael Floyd will be in uniform

Sun, 03 Jan 2016 12:40:30 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd (knee) is officially active for the Week 17 game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd ($6,400, 12.8% of cap) should see his normal workload and could be a decent starting option this week even though he is facing a solid Seahawks defense.

Cardinals | Michael Floyd has chance to play

Sat, 02 Jan 2016 08:20:00 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd (knee) has a very good chance to play in the Week 17 game against the Seattle Seahawks even though he is listed as questionable, according to head coach Bruce Arians.

Fantasy Tip: Owners should still check the inactive list to see if Floyd ($6,400, 12.8% of cap) will be able to play against the Seahawks. Floyd has played very well in his last four games and could be a decent fantasy option even though he is facing a tough Seahawks defense.

Fri, 01 Jan 2016 17:48:45 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd (knee) was limited during practice Friday, Jan. 1, and is listed as questionable for the Week 17 game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to check the inactive list to see if Floyd ($6,400, 12.8% of cap) will be able to play in the game. He has played very well over the last few weeks and could be a decent option for fantasy owners if he plays even though he is dealing with a tough Seahawks defense.

Cardinals | Michael Floyd remains out

Thu, 31 Dec 2015 18:24:39 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd (knee) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 31.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd ($6,400, 12.8% of cap) still hasn't practiced this week, and with Cardinals facing the Seahawks in the season finale, it isn't a bad idea to look for a healthier option with a better matchup at FantasyScore.

Cardinals | Michael Floyd does not practice

Wed, 30 Dec 2015 17:11:15 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd (knee) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 30.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd's ($6,400, 12.8% of cap) status for the Week 17 game against the Seattle Seahawks is uncertain at the moment, so owners will need to monitor the situation. Floyd likely will receive his normal targets if he is active, but owners may want to lower their expectations because of the matchup.

Sun, 27 Dec 2015 20:45:10 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd posted six receptions for 111 yards in the Week 16 game against the Green Bay Packers. He was targeted eight times.

Fantasy Tip: While Floyd did not find the end zone, he was able to post at least 100 yards for the fifth time in seven games. He has emerged as a bona fide fantasy WR1 down the stretch this season.

Sun, 20 Dec 2015 21:07:01 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd posted five receptions for team-high 70 yards in the Week 15 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He was targeted eight times.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd just missed a touchdown in the second half when he was ruled down at the 1-yard line. His production wasn't as great as past weeks, but he was still pretty decent.

Cardinals | Michael Floyd earning trust

Thu, 17 Dec 2015 18:47:44 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd is coming down with more "50-50" balls than in previous seasons, according to head coach Bruce Arians, and QB Carson Palmer said he is more willing to take chances to Floyd.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd ($6,300, 12.6% of cap) has been on a tear since recovering from a hamstring issue, topping 100 yards in four of his last five games. He has a high ceiling again in Week 15 against a porous Philadelphia secondary.

Cardinals | Arizona offense continues to thrive

Fri, 11 Dec 2015 09:28:27 -0800

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer threw two touchdown passes in the Week 14 win over the Minnesota Vikings Thursday, Dec. 10, to break Kurt Warner's single-season franchise record for touchdowns. WR Michael Floyd had 100-plus yards receiving for the fourth time in the last five contests.

Fantasy Tip: Palmer is a legitimate QB1 that is having an MVP-caliber season. Floyd is becoming one of Palmer's favorite targets in the passing game right alongside Larry Fitzgerald. Consider Floyd a pretty safe fantasy receiver down the stretch as long as he stays healthy.

Cardinals | Three AZ WRs probable for Week 14

Wed, 09 Dec 2015 13:20:59 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WRs Larry Fitzgerald (ankle), John Brown (hamstring) and Michael Floyd participated fully in practice Wednesday, Dec. 9, and are listed as probable for Week 14.

Fantasy Tip: The Minnesota Vikings, Arizona's opponent this week, have been pretty average defensively against wide receivers this year, but the Cardinals have one of the most prolific passing attacks in football. Fitzgerald ($7,900, 15.8% of cap), Floyd ($6,000, 12.0%) and Brown ($5,100, 10.2%) each did well last week, but Fitzgerald is the most consistent of the three.

Cardinals | Three AZ wide receivers limited

Tue, 08 Dec 2015 13:58:59 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WRs Larry Fitzgerald (ankle), John Brown (hamstring) and Michael Floyd (hamstring) were limited in practice Tuesday, Dec. 8.

Fantasy Tip: Fitzgerald, Brown ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) and Floyd ($6,000, 12.0%) were able to play last week, and they played well. It would be a surprise to see any of them sit in Week 14, but they should be monitored throughout the week to be sure. Fitzgerald ($7,900, 15.8%) is the most consistent of the three, but they're all worth consideration for FantasyScore lineups.

Cardinals | Arizona's top three WRs limited

Mon, 07 Dec 2015 16:28:16 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WRs John Brown (hamstring), Larry Fitzgerald (ankle) and Michael Floyd (hamstring) were limited during practice Monday, Dec. 7.

Fantasy Tip: All three receivers were able to play against the St. Louis Rams in Week 13 and each caught at least six passes. Fitzgerald is currently leading the team in receiving yards, but Brown and Floyd are also value pieces to the passing game. Fantasy owners should consider all three as starting options against the Minnesota Vikings Thursday, Dec. 10.

Cardinals | John Brown, Michael Floyd hit 100

Sun, 06 Dec 2015 17:38:33 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WR John Brown (hamstring) posted six receptions for 113 yards in the Week 13 game against the St. Louis Rams, and WR Michael Floyd (hamstring) posted seven grabs for 104 yards on a team-high 12 targets.

Fantasy Tip: Browns and Floyd had been dealing with hamstring injuries in recent weeks, but both certainly looked back to 100 percent in this one. It appears safe to get them back into the active lineup in all fantasy formats.

Cardinals | Michael Floyd likely to play Sunday

Sun, 06 Dec 2015 07:19:47 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd (hamstring) is expected to play in Week 13's game against the St. Louis Rams, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) was limited in practice all week and had been listed as questionable on the team's injury report Friday, Dec. 4. However, the Rams' defense has allowed the eighth-fewest receiving yards in the league, so this is not a favorable matchup for him in FantasyScore.

Cardinals | Michael Floyd could miss Week 13

Fri, 04 Dec 2015 14:22:20 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd (hamstring) was limited in practice all week and is questionable for Week 13 against the St. Louis Rams.

Fantasy Tip: We would expect Floyd ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) to suit up for this one. However, he could be limited against a strong opponent against wideouts, making him a very risky daily commodity.

Cardinals | Three Arizona receivers limited

Thu, 03 Dec 2015 14:43:33 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WRs John Brown (hamstring), Larry Fitzgerald (ankle) and Michael Floyd (hamstring) were all limited in practice for the second straight day Thursday, Dec. 3.

Fantasy Tip: The St. Louis Rams allow the third-fewest PPR fantasy points (27.2) per game to receivers this year, so beyond Fitzgerald ($7,900, 15.8% of cap), the Arizona receivers may struggle to return value in daily formats. Floyd ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) put up a dud last week and probably won't be 100%.

Cardinals | Three Arizona receivers limited

Wed, 02 Dec 2015 16:05:23 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WRs John Brown (hamstring), Larry Fitzgerald (ankle) and Michael Floyd (hamstring) were all limited in practice Wednesday, Dec. 2.

Fantasy Tip: The St. Louis Rams are one of the tougher defense against wide receivers this year, so beyond Fitzgerald ($7,900, 15.8% of cap), the Cardinals wideouts are risky daily commodities in Week 13. Floyd ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) is coming off a stinker, and his health is probably affecting him the most right now.

Cardinals | Michael Floyd quiet in win

Sun, 29 Nov 2015 22:07:57 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd (hamstring) was active in the Week 12 game against the San Francisco 49ers, but he was held to just one catch for 14 yards on two targets.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd was active, but he was certainly limited in the offense. Avoid him in all fantasy formats until he can officially return and prove his health in a full game and play without any limitations.

Cardinals | Michael Floyd will play

Sun, 29 Nov 2015 12:03:15 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd (hamstring) is officially active for the Week 12 game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd ($6,600, 13.2% of cap) will be able to play despite his hamstring injury but could see limited snaps. He will have a favorable matchup against the 49ers and could be a solid starting option for owners.

Cardinals | Michael Floyd expected to play

Sun, 29 Nov 2015 07:24:10 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd (hamstring) is expected to play in Week 12's game against the San Francisco 49ers, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd ($6,600, 13.2% of cap) had been listed as questionable on the team's injury report but was able to practice on a limited basis. He was inactive for Week 11's game versus the Bengals but had seven receptions for 113 yards and two touchdowns against the Seahawks in Week 10. Floyd should be considered a WR2 in FantasyScore with a favorable matchup against a team that has struggled mightily on defense this season.

Cardinals | Michael Floyd questionable

Fri, 27 Nov 2015 15:11:12 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd (hamstring) is questionable to play in Week 12 against the San Francisco 49ers.

Fantasy Tip: It looks like Floyd ($6,600, 13.2% of cap) could easily miss his second straight game, and he could be a game-time decision. With the game later on Sunday, don't risk him on FantasyScore. The Niners are a top-10 fantasy matchup for receivers, so John Brown ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) is a great value pick if Floyd is out again. Larry Fitzgerald ($7,900, 15.8% of cap) should yet again be a safe daily selection, too.

Cardinals | Four Cardinals limited Thursday

Thu, 26 Nov 2015 13:25:29 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WRs John Brown (hamstring), Larry Fitzgerald (ankle) and Michael Floyd (hamstring) and RB Chris Johnson (knee) were limited in practice Thursday, Nov. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Brown ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) didn't practice yesterday, so his limited status is still encouraging. Floyd ($6,600, 13.2%) is probably the other bigger question mark, but don't be surprised if they all end up playing. The whole Arizona offense has a tremendous matchup against the 49ers, and Johnson ($7,300, 14.6%) and Fitzgerald ($7,900, 15.8%) in particular should be seriously considered on FantasyScore.

Wed, 25 Nov 2015 16:38:29 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WRs Larry Fitzgerald (ankle), Michael Floyd (hamstring) and RB Chris Johnson (knee) were limited in practice Wednesday, Nov. 25.

Fantasy Tip: All three of Fitz ($7,900, 15.8% of cap), Floyd ($6,600, 13.2%) and Johnson ($7,300, 14.6%) have great matchups against a San Francisco 49ers defense that has struggled in every facet on that side of the ball. If they're able to play, all three are good starts on FantasyScore.

Sun, 22 Nov 2015 16:26:44 -0800

Cardinals | Michael Floyd listed as questionable

Sun, 22 Nov 2015 07:23:34 -0800

The Arizona Cardinals are not optimistic about the status of WR Michael Floyd (hamstring) for Week 11's game against the Cincinnati Bengals. He is officially listed on the team's injury report as questionable.

Fantasy Tip: Avoid using Floyd ($6,600, 13.2% of cap) in your fantasy lineups this week, especially considering that the Cardinals are playing a Sunday night game.

Cardinals | Michael Floyd, John Brown questionable

Fri, 20 Nov 2015 14:23:22 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WRs Michael Floyd (hamstring) and John Brown (hamstring) are both questionable for Week 11 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Floyd missed practice all week and Brown was limited the last two days.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd ($6,600, 13.2% of cap) is too risky in daily formats despite his recent hot streak. He's shaping up to be a game-time decision for the Sunday night tilt. Brown ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) has a better shot to play but is also too risky in the late game. That makes Larry Fitzgerald ($7,900, 15.8% of cap) a much safer FantasyScore pick.

Cardinals | Michael Floyd riding hot streak

Thu, 19 Nov 2015 14:53:21 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd has averaged 82 yards and scored five touchdowns in his last five games.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd ($6,600, 13.2% of cap) got off to a rusty start this year but has come back with a vengeance in the second half of the season. He's dealing with a hamstring issue this week, though, so his status will need to be monitored heading into the weekend.

Cardinals | Michael Floyd out again

Thu, 19 Nov 2015 10:27:02 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd (hamstring) is sitting out of practice again Thursday, Nov. 19, as he deals with a hamstring injury.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd ($6,600, 13.2% of cap) had another big game against the Seattle Seahawks last week and is clearly one of Arizona's top receiving targets along with Larry Fitzgerald. The Cincinnati Bengals aren't an easy matchup in Week 11, but Floyd is a pretty safe daily option if he's on the field. Keep track of whether he practices tomorrow. If he doesn't, John Brown ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) could be a nice sleeper play against Cincy.

Wed, 18 Nov 2015 10:54:39 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd (hamstring) and WR John Brown (hamstring) were out of practice Wednesday, Nov. 18.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd ($6,600, 13.2% of cap) and Brown ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) face a tough Cincinnati Bengals defense that is top five in defending the position the last five weeks. Monitor their status as the week progresses, but the matchup isn't promising.

Cardinals | Michael Floyd day-to-day

Mon, 16 Nov 2015 12:25:47 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd (hamstring) is considered day-to-day with a hamstring injury.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd is coming off this best game of the season and has already supplanted John Brown as the Cardinals No. 2 wide receiver. Keep an eye on Floyd's status this week, but the injury doesn't sound serious.

Cardinals | Michael Floyd excels in tough matchup

Mon, 16 Nov 2015 10:23:38 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd (hamstring) had seven catches for 113 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 10 against the Seattle Seahawks before leaving with a hamstring injury. WR Larry Fitzgerald had 10 catches for 130 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd has clearly surpassed John Brown as the No. 2 wideout behind the renewed Fitzgerald now, and Floyd has now posted back-to-back 100-yard games and has scored in five straight games (five scores). With Arizona's offense rolling, Floyd is matchup-resistant and is a must-start in all formats.

Sun, 15 Nov 2015 21:18:21 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd (hamstring) left the Week 10 game against the Seattle Seahawks in the fourth quarter due to a hamstring injury.

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd is likely to supplant WR John Brown as the starting wide receiver, according to head coach Bruce Arians. "(Floyd) got hurt, (Brown) took his job, and now he's probably going to take it back," Arians said.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) has earned it, but he'll have to deal with the Legion of Boom and the Seattle Seahawks in Week 10 after the bye week.

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd had four catches for 106 yards and a touchdown in a 34-20 win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 8, his third straight game with a touchdown.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) hadn't even reached 60 yards in a game prior to his performance in Week 8, and he likely benefitted from John Brown being limited. If Brown is healthy, Floyd is a roll-of-the-dice play at FantasyScore.

Cardinals | Michael Floyd visits end zone

Mon, 26 Oct 2015 21:30:42 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd posted three receptions for 59 yards and a touchdown in the Week 7 game against the Baltimore Ravens Monday, Oct. 26. He was targeted four times.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) has started to factor into the Arizona offense more over the past few weeks, posting 50 or more yards in three of his past four while scoring a touchdown in each of the past two outings. He has emerged as a must-have WR3 or flex FantasyScore play, as he has been fairly productive and he also saves you salary so you can load up elsewhere.

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd had five receptions for a season-high 59 yards in the Week 4 game against the St. Louis Rams. He was targeted seven times.

Fantasy Tip: Bruce Arians promised to get Floyd ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) more involved earlier in the week and he made good on his word. Still, he has a while to go before FantasyScore players can trust him again.

Tue, 29 Sep 2015 20:16:20 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd was barely involved in the offense in Week 3. However, head coach Bruce Arians said the team tried "to get him going", and he should have a bigger role moving forward.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) has done next to nothing so far this season, so FantasyScore owners will want to see that bigger role come into fruition before investing in him.

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd was targeted five times in the Week 3 game against the San Francisco 49ers, but he hauled in just one ball for 12 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) has posted just two receptions for 30 yards through the first two games. Needless to say, he isn't a viable FantasyScore option at this point.

Cardinals | Michael Floyd listed as probable

Fri, 18 Sep 2015 15:29:52 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd (hand) fully participated in practice and is listed as probable for Week 1 against the Chicago Bears.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) was held to one catch for 18 yards in the first game but should be more involved in the offense in Week 2. Floyd could be a decent option for owners on FantasyScore, but they could also look at other options to start.

Cardinals | Another full practice for Michael Floyd

Thu, 17 Sep 2015 14:48:56 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd (hand) practiced in full for the second straight day Thursday, Sept. 17.

Fantasy Tip: After being limited in Week 1 (nine snaps), Floyd ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) should be expected to play again versus the Chicago Bears, but he could still be severely limited in his playing time. That's enough of a reason to avoid him again on FantasyScore. John Brown ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) should yet again be a great value pick in daily formats against a shaky Bears secondary.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) was able to play in Week 1 despite the injury but caught only one pass for 18 yards. He likely will be more involved in the offense once he recovers from his injury but may be a risky option for owners in Week 2 against the Chicago Bears.

Cardinals | Michael Floyd will play

Sun, 13 Sep 2015 11:49:27 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd (fingers) is active for the team's Week 1 game against the New Orleans Saints.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) has been sidelined for a few weeks because of his dislocated fingers but will be in uniform for Week 1. It is not known if Floyd will be limited because of the injury, so he will be a risky option for fantasy owners. Owners may want to look for better options to use.

Cardinals | Michael Floyd expected to play

Sun, 13 Sep 2015 07:09:09 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd (fingers) is on track to play against the New Orleans Saints in Week 1.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) missed the final few preseason games because of the injury but has been able to do some things during practice this week. It is not known if he will be limited during the game, so he will be a risky option for owners on FantasyScore.

Cardinals | Michael Floyd looking sharp

Fri, 11 Sep 2015 18:33:41 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd has "looked really good" catching passes in practice, according to head coach Bruce Arians. "He went one-on-ones and went a bunch of practice and looked really good," Arians said. "He dove for a ball and caught it, made me hold my breath. But he caught it."

Fantasy Tip: It still hasn't been decided whether or not Floyd ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) will suit up against the New Orleans Saints in Week 1, but if he does play, he should make a worthwhile starting option at FantasyScore against a New Orleans secondary that was terrible a year ago.
