Jets | Robby Anderson, Jermaine Kearse full go

Thu, 14 Dec 2017 13:10:33 -0800

New York Jets WRs Robby Anderson (hamstring) and Jermaine Kearse (shoulder) participated fully in practice Thursday, Dec. 14.

Fantasy Tip: The loss of Josh McCown is a substantial one for both Anderson and Kearse. It is now up to Bryce Petty to lead the Jets against arguably the most improved defense in the NFL in the New Orleans Saints. Anders is now a low-end WR2 or flex candidate while Kearse is more of a deep flex.

Jets | Jermaine Kearse goes full Wednesday

Wed, 13 Dec 2017 14:37:07 -0800

New York Jets WR Jermaine Kearse (shoulder) was listed as a full participant for practice Wednesday, Dec. 13.

Fantasy Tip: Kearse was able to take part in a full practice session, which is a good sign, as he is getting used to a new quarterback under center. Bryce Petty will start for the injured Josh McCown (hand) the rest of the way, so Kearse should now be counted on as nothing more than a low-end WR4 in most fantasy leagues.

New York Jets WR Jermaine Kearse (shoulder) practiced in full for a third straight day Friday, Dec. 8, and he was removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 14 game with the Denver Broncos.

Fantasy Tip: Kearse is a decent low-end WR3 or flex play in most fantasy leagues, as he has emerged as a decent weapon for Josh McCown. He has 16 catches for 262 yards and a touchdown over the past two games.

Jets | Jermaine Kearse practices in full again

Thu, 07 Dec 2017 16:04:13 -0800

New York Jets WR Jermaine Kearse (shoulder) practiced in full for the second consecutive day Thursday, Dec. 7.

Fantasy Tip: Kearse has been piling up the stats lately, totaling a whopping 16 catches on 21 targets for 262 yards in his last two games alone. With Robby Anderson (hamstring) suddenly questionable to suit up this week, Kearse could be in line for another monstrous showing, and even if Anderson does play, the former Seattle Seahawk is still worth consideration as a WR3 in all leagues.

Sun, 03 Dec 2017 14:49:08 -0800

New York Jets WR Jermaine Kearse caught nine passes for 157 yards against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 13.

Fantasy Tip: Kearse posted his second straight 100-yard performance and has been targeted 21 times during that two-game span. He will be facing a tough Denver Broncos secondary next week but can be at least a flex option in most fantasy leagues.

Fri, 01 Dec 2017 16:02:41 -0800

New York Jets WR Jermaine Kearse (shoulder) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 1, and is not on the injury report for Week 13.

Fantasy Tip: Kearse is coming off a terrific Week 12 performance where he posted 105 yards and one touchdown. He has received at least five targets in each of the last four games. He is a possible flex option in deeper fantasy leagues but is not a must-start option.

Jets | Jermaine Kearse also limited

Thu, 30 Nov 2017 11:01:58 -0800

New York Jets WR Jermaine Kearse (shoulder) remained limited in practice Thursday, Nov. 30.

Fantasy Tip: It doesn't look like Kearse is in danger of missing this week's game unless he suffers a setback. He scored a season-high 23.5 PPR points last week, and while he does have a nice matchup versus the Kansas City Chiefs, it would be na´ve to expect him to repeat that performance. Still, he's a legitimate WR3 or flex candidate.

Jets | Jermaine Kearse limited in practice

Wed, 29 Nov 2017 14:54:10 -0800

New York Jets WR Jermaine Kearse (shoulder) was limited in practice Wednesday, Nov. 29.

Fantasy Tip: Kearse is easily coming off his best outing of the season, posting seven grabs for 105 yards and a touchdown last week against Carolina. He has scored three times in the past seven outings and has re-emerged as a useful WR4 in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams.

Jets | Jermaine Kearse posts 105 yards, TD

Sun, 26 Nov 2017 18:51:36 -0800

New York Jets WR Jermaine Kearse finished with seven grabs for 105 yards and a score on a team-high 11 targets in Week 12 against the Carolina Panthers.

Fantasy Tip: Kearse has four or more receptions in seven of his 11 games, but this was by far his best performance of the season. Even with the big game he should only be considered as a WR4 or flex fantasy option in deeper PPR formats heading into Week 13 against Kansas City.

Jets | Jermaine Kearse posts 35 yards

Sun, 12 Nov 2017 13:47:37 -0800

New York Jets WR Jermaine Kearse caught four passes for 35 yards against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 10.

Fantasy Tip: Kearse has slowed down after a strong start to the season but has been targeted 19 times over the last three games. He probably should only be used in starting lineups against favorable matchups.

Sun, 29 Oct 2017 14:11:34 -0700

New York Jets WR Jermaine Kearse caught two passes for 14 yards against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 8.

Fantasy Tip: Kearse has had some good games this season for the Jets but has been limited to three catches and 43 yards over the last two games. He should continue to see a decent amount of targets but probably should be benched next week.

Jets | Jermaine Kearse finds end zone

Sun, 22 Oct 2017 18:30:26 -0700

New York Jets WR Jermaine Kearse made just one catch in Week 7 against the Miami Dolphins and that was good for a 29-yard touchdown.

Fantasy Tip: Kearse was targeted four times, but could only connect with Josh McCown once. Despite the score he is only worth fantasy consideration as a WR4 heading into Week 8 against the visiting Falcons.

Jets | Jermaine Kearse posts 79 yards

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 14:09:51 -0700

New York Jets WR Jermaine Kearse caught four passes for 79 yards against the New England Patriots in Week 6.

Fantasy Tip: Kearse has caught all eight of his targets over the last two games and appears to have earned a solid role in the passing game. Owners in deeper leagues could consider adding Kearse to their rosters, but he should only be used as a flex option against favorable matchups.

Sun, 08 Oct 2017 13:14:56 -0700

New York Jets WR Jermaine Kearse caught four passes for 38 yards and one touchdown against the Cleveland Browns in Week 5.

Fantasy Tip: Kearse has been a good pickup for the Jets this season and has three touchdowns in five games. He should continue to have a solid role in the passing game but probably should only be a flex option in deeper leagues.

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 20:02:09 -0700

New York Jets WR Jermaine Kearse finished with four catches for 64 yards and two touchdowns in a 45-20 loss to the New York Jets in Week 2.

Fantasy Tip: The Jets figure to be trailing a lot this year, and someone has to catch the ball. Kearse can a be a decent WR4.

Jets | Jermaine Kearse has decent outing

Sun, 10 Sep 2017 15:31:33 -0700

New York Jets WR Jermaine Kearse caught seven of his nine targeted passes for 59 yards in a 21-12 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, Sept. 10.

Fantasy Tip: Kearse did a good job, but the fact the Jets' starting QB situation is so messy lowers Kearse's value as a starter a great deal. Like with Josh McCown, think of Kearse as a replacement during a bye week. Kearse was the target of trade talks in the offseason, so a change of scenery may have done him good.

Seahawks | Solid game for Jermaine Kearse

Fri, 25 Aug 2017 21:54:55 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Jermaine Kearse caught three passes for 59 yards in a 26-13 win over the Kansas City Chiefs Friday, Aug. 25.

Fantasy Tip: If Paul Richardson and Tyler Lockett are healthy for Week 1, which isn't a given, Kearse won't be worth owning. If Richardson and Lockett aren't ready or miss time during the year, scoop Kearse up off waivers.

Seahawks | Paul Richardson making a move

Tue, 01 Aug 2017 20:47:44 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Paul Richardson is running ahead of Jermaine Kearse in two-receiver sets so far at training camp.

Fantasy Tip: Tyler Lockett is still working his way back from a broken leg, but Richardson's ascension over Kearse is notable and overdue. Kearse brings very little playmaking ability to the table, while Richardson began to flash the talent that made him a second-round pick in 2014 last season. Richardson may not be ready for redraft consideration in most leagues quite yet, but he will be worth a late pick if Lockett has a setback.

Seahawks | Jermaine Kearse unlikely to be cut

Wed, 10 May 2017 09:01:27 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Jermaine Kearse may be a potential cap casualty in 2018, but ESPN's Sheil Kapadia considers the possibility of him being released this off-season "slim" as the team seems to value him more than people on the outside.

Fantasy Tip: Kearse was coming off a career season and disappointed in a big way in 2016, catching just 41 of 80 targets for 510 yards and a touchdown. With Doug Baldwin, Paul Richardson and Tyler Lockett all more deserving of targets, Kearse figures to be a fantasy non-factor again this year.

Seahawks | Jermaine Kearse into end zone

Sat, 24 Dec 2016 17:59:34 -0800

Seattle Seahawks WR Jermaine Kearse posted four receptions for 37 yards and a touchdown in the Week 16 game against the Arizona Cardinals. He was targeted nine times.

Fantasy Tip: Kearse stepped up his play with Tyler Lockett going down to an ugly injury, and Kearse might be worth using as a WR4 in fantasy league playing into Week 17.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin, Jermaine Kearse had most snaps

Mon, 12 Sep 2016 14:39:38 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WRs Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse each played 70 of 82 possible snaps (85 percent) in Week 1. WR Tyler Lockett was in on 62 of the 80 snaps (76 percent).

Fantasy Tip: Kearse appears to be the No. 2 wide receiver behind Baldwin for now. The Seahawks may be using Lockett a little bit less in order to better preserve him for his integral return specialist role. Going forward, Baldwin is a weekly WR2 as long as Russell Wilson is healthy. Kearse is more of a WR4 consideration, while Lockett is in low-end WR3 territory. Lockett is arguably the Seahawks' best playmaking threat and has even more value in leagues that reward return yardage.

Fri, 11 Mar 2016 07:40:18 -0800

Updating previous reports, Seattle Seahawks WR Jermaine Kearse's three-year deal is worth $13.5 million with $6.3 million guaranteed and coming in 2016. He can earn $4.7 million in incentives and escalators.

Fantasy Tip: Kearse showed flashes last season but pegs around the WR4 range in fantasy.

Seahawks | Jermaine Kearse back with Seattle

Thu, 10 Mar 2016 17:08:18 -0800

Seattle Seahawks WR Jermaine Kearse has reached a three-year deal to re-sign with the Seahawks, according to a source. Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

Fantasy Tip: Kearse hauled in 49 passes for 685 yards and five touchdowns with the Seahawks in 2015. Seattle could be in line to air it out more with Marshawn Lynch retired, but Kearse's inconsistency will likely continue to frustrate fantasy owners. He's a WR4 with upside for more.

Seahawks | Jermaine Kearse likely gone

Thu, 03 Mar 2016 14:37:03 -0800

Seattle Seahawks impending free-agent WR Jermaine Kearse said he does not plan to return to the Seahawks and is looking forward to finding a new home.

Fantasy Tip: Doug Baldwin will continue to be the main man in Seattle, and Kearse's inevitable departure means a bump in playing time and fantasy value for Tyler Lockett, who quickly turned into one of the best deep threats in the NFL in his rookie season. Jimmy Graham will benefit, too, and should still be viewed as a low-end TE1.

Seahawks | No discount for Jermaine Kearse

Thu, 21 Jan 2016 06:38:01 -0800

Seattle Seahawks impending free-agent WR Jermaine Kearse said he won't offer the team a hometown discount. "I love my hometown, but I've put in too much hard work to give a discount," Kearse said via text message. "My number one priority is to take care of my family's future, so I will consider all opportunities."

Fantasy Tip: Kearse made a statement with his 11-110-2 game in the divisional round, and he could be a WR3 target in the right situation.

Seahawks | Jermaine Kearse hopes to return

Mon, 18 Jan 2016 16:15:49 -0800

Seattle Seahawks impending free-agent WR Jermaine Kearse said he hopes to re-sign with the Seahawks this offseason.

Fantasy Tip: Kearse was a solid part of the passing game this season and would have a similar role if returns to Seattle. He could be a late-round option in deeper leagues as well as point-per-reception leagues.

Seattle Seahawks WR Jermaine Kearse caught 11 passes for 110 yards and two touchdowns in the divisional round playoff game against the Carolina Panthers Sunday, Jan. 17.

Fantasy Tip: Kearse was a solid part of the team's passing game this season and finished the regular season with 685 yards and five touchdowns. Kearse should have a similar role if he is back with the team and could be a late-round pick in deeper leagues.

Seahawks | Jermaine Kearse on track to play

Fri, 25 Dec 2015 18:27:19 -0800

Seattle Seahawks WR Jermaine Kearse (calf) was a full participant in practice Friday, Dec. 25, and is listed as probable to face the St. Louis Rams in Week 16.

Fantasy Tip: Kearse ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) has been playing well of late and is coming off his best game of the season. As well as the Seattle passing attack has been, Kearse isn't the worst mid-priced receiver to take a chance on at FantasyScore.

Seahawks | Jermaine Kearse practices Thursday

Thu, 24 Dec 2015 15:44:32 -0800

Seattle Seahawks WR Jermaine Kearse (calf) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 24.

Fantasy Tip: Kearse ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) should be able to play and will have a solid role in the passing game. He has played well over the last two weeks and could be a cheaper option on FantasyScore.

Seahawks | Jermaine Kearse limited Wednesday

Wed, 23 Dec 2015 16:52:32 -0800

Seattle Seahawks WR Jermaine Kearse (calf) was limited in practice Wednesday, Dec. 23.

Fantasy Tip: Kearse ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) has had two of his better games of the season the last two weeks, averaging seven catches and 92 yards. He's not a bad play on FantasyScore this week if you need a cheaper flex player.

Seahawks | Jermaine Kearse over 100 yards

Sun, 20 Dec 2015 17:20:23 -0800

Seattle Seahawks WR Jermaine Kearse had seven catches for 110 yards in a 30-13 win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 15.

Fantasy Tip: Kearse has been one of the many beneficiaries of Seattle's recent offensive surge, and he has 14 grabs for 184 yards over the past two games. He is a potential bargain at FantasyScore with Russell Wilson and the passing attack firing on all cylinders.

Mon, 05 Oct 2015 22:21:57 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Jermaine Kearse had a pair of receptions for 84 yards in the Week 4 game against the Detroit Lions Monday, Oct. 5.

Fantasy Tip: Kearse ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) had a pair of long catches, but he isn't a great FantasyScore option since his targets are rather limited.

Seahawks | Jermaine Kearse sees 10 targets

Mon, 14 Sep 2015 12:14:35 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Jermaine Kearse was the most-targeted Seahawk in Week 1, receiving 10 of QB Russell Wilson's 31 attempts.

Fantasy Tip: Doug Baldwin and Jimmy Graham were right behind Kearse with nine targets and eight targets, respectively. Marshawn Lynch even saw seven targets. Graham is still the Seahawks' most valuable pass-catcher, but Kearse may be worth picking up off waivers if you're weak at the wide receiver position.

Seahawks | Chris Matthews gaining steam

Tue, 04 Aug 2015 10:11:12 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Chris Matthews is seeing plenty of time with the team's top-end receiver rotation including WRs Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse. Matthews looks to be building off his big performance in the Super Bowl last year. WRs Ricardo Lockette and Tyler Lockett could be fighting for a roster spot. WR Paul Richardson (knee) is on the Physically Unable to Perform list.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews has some real nice big-play ability, and he'll certainly enter the season as a deep fantasy wideout sleeper. The fact that the Seahawks run the ball a lot will make it tough for Matthews to be a consistent contributor unless an injury opens up more looks for him.

Seahawks | Jermaine Kearse likely for every down

Fri, 26 Jun 2015 09:26:24 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Jermaine Kearse is likely to be an every-down receiver for the team in 2015. He is a versatile receiver that excels at blocking.

Fantasy Tip: Kearse had a 38-537-1 season last year, which won't open many eyes. In his fourth season with consistent playing time, he could be worth a WR5 flyer.

Seahawks | Jermaine Kearse signs tender

Tue, 05 May 2015 21:58:47 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Jermaine Kearse signed his restricted free-agent tender Tuesday, May 5, according to a source. The Seahawks had put a second-round tender on Kearse.

Fantasy Tip: Kearse will reprise his role as the deep threat in the Seattle offense in 2015. In standard leagues he is worth a look in the final rounds on draft, but he isn't much of an option in points-per-reception (PPR) formats.
