Chargers | Travis Benjamin absent Wednesday

Wed, 15 Jun 2016 16:08:29 -0700

San Diego Chargers WR Travis Benjamin (undisclosed) did not participate in any drills at minicamp Wednesday, June 15.

Fantasy Tip: Benjamin's absence is probably nothing to be overly concerned about. He'll enter the 2016 season as the Chargers' No. 2 wide receiver and should be a WR4 option in standard fantasy drafts.

Chargers | Travis Benjamin contract details

Wed, 09 Mar 2016 12:56:25 -0800

Updating a previous report, the San Diego Chargers agreed with WR Travis Benjamin on a four-year, $24 million deal Wednesday, March 9. The deal includes $13 million guaranteed and $18 million in the first three years.

Fantasy Tip: Benjamin provides the Bolts with a valuable deep threat now that Malcom Floyd is retired. He'll help Philip Rivers stretch the field and could be a really nice WR3 for fantasy owners, but he has more value in traditional fantasy leagues because of his boom-or-bust personality as a deep threat.

Falcons | Atlanta eyeing Travis Benjamin

Tue, 08 Mar 2016 15:08:45 -0800

Cleveland Browns impending free-agent WR Travis Benjamin has drawn interest from the Atlanta Falcons, according to a source. Benjamin played for current Falcons offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan in Cleveland in 2014.

Fantasy Tip: This year's free-agent market for wide receivers is a relatively weak one, making Benjamin one of the better free-agent receivers this year. The Falcons may have to pay up if they really want Benjamin. He would be the No. 2 wide receiver in Atlanta if signed, but he shouldn't be considered more than a low-end WR2 in the fantasy realm.

Browns | Travis Benjamin to enter market

Tue, 23 Feb 2016 15:24:20 -0800

Cleveland Browns impending free-agent WR Travis Benjamin's talks with the Browns have broken down and he will enter the free-agent market, according to his agent.

Fantasy Tip: Benjamin will be one of the bigger names among free-agent wide receivers this offseason. He was the No. 1 wide receiver on the Browns last season and added extra fantasy value with his punt returning. He'll remain a deep threat wherever he goes, but it's still too early to gauge what his value will be in 2016.

Browns | Travis Benjamin, Cleveland near deal

Mon, 22 Feb 2016 19:06:31 -0800

Cleveland Browns impending free-agent WR Travis Benjamin is nearing a deal with the team, beat writer Tony Grossi said Monday, Feb. 22.

Fantasy Tip: Benjamin had a breakout season with 68 grabs for 966 yards and five touchdowns, although he cooled off down the stretch with just one touchdown in his final 13 games after four scores in the first three. He could be a solid No. 3 or 4 fantasy wide receiver in 2016, especially if Josh Gordon returns to the team and the organization upgrades its quarterback situation as expected.

Browns | Travis Benjamin to re-sign soon?

Thu, 18 Feb 2016 17:40:34 -0800

Cleveland Browns WR Travis Benjamin could be re-signed to a new contract shortly, according to ESPNCleveland.com's Tony Grossi.

Fantasy Tip: It's important for the Browns to bring back Benjamin as he was undoubtedly their best wide receiver last season. He also gives Cleveland one of the better punt returners in the NFL, which gives him added fantasy value, too. He's in WR3 territory.

Browns | Travis Benjamin likely staying

Thu, 04 Feb 2016 13:17:54 -0800

Cleveland Browns WR Travis Benjamin said he could get a deal done with the Browns before March. Furthermore, he spoke with new head coach Hue Jackson, who said he loves Benjamin's skill set and that 2016 will hopefully be a great season for the Browns.

Fantasy Tip: The writing seems to be on the wall for Benjamin to stay in Cleveland. They'll need him, too, as he was far and away their most productive wide receiver last season. He also gives them one of the league's best punt returners. The quarterback situation isn't ideal, though. Consider Benjamin a WR3.
