New York Giants TE Larry Donnell scored three of his six touchdowns in Week 4 in 2014 and failed to find the end zone over his final six games of the season.
Fantasy Tip: Donnell was erratic in the touchdown department but steadily managed to catch passes. His production drop coincided with the emergence of rookie wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Donnell is a shaky TE1 in the deepest of leagues and is best reserved for daily action on FantasyScore.

New York Giants TE Larry Donnell (Achilles') had his walking boot removed.
Fantasy Tip: Donnell is a bit of a tease entering this season with so much uncertainty after the first few tight ends are off the board. Donnell had a flashy 63-623-6 line for the season, but three of those touchdowns were in Week 4. Shane Vereen and, most likely, Victor Cruz (knee) will be there to take targets away from him. Don't overvalue him on draft day and view him as a high-end TE2.

New York Giants TE Larry Donnell (Achilles') missed a good chunk of organized team activities (OTAs) due to an Achilles' problem. If the injury lingers it could open the door for TEs Jerome Cunningham and Adrien Robinson to see more responsibilities in the passing game. However, long term the team feels Donnell is still on the upswing, or has plenty of upside.
Fantasy Tip: Donnell is the clear No. 1 tight end on this season after coming out of nowhere to seize the starting job last season. All indications are that his Achilles’ injury is not serious and he should be fine for the regular season. In standard fantasy formats he is considered a Top 15 option at his position and worthy of a selection in the neighborhood of Rounds 11 through 13.

New York Giants TE Larry Donnell (Achilles') is in a walking boot as he recovers from Achilles' tendinitis. Donnell said he's taking a day-by-day approach to the injury, but reiterated that it's not serious.
Fantasy Tip: It sounds like Donnell should be good to go at least by the time training camp begins, as long as the Achilles' doesn't flare up again. If he can stay on the field for a full season, or close to a full season, he could finish with TE1 numbers in 2015.

Updating previous reports, New York Giants TE Larry Donnell's (Achilles') tendonitis is not serious and he should be OK in the next few days.
Fantasy Tip: It sounds like Donnell should be good to go for training camp, unless he suffers any setbacks. Draft him as a low-end TE1 in what could be a prolific Giants' offense.

Updating a previous report, New York Giants TE Larry Donnell (Achilles') has been dealing with tendonitis in his Achilles' tendon, which is why he is wearing a boot.
Fantasy Tip: Owners should monitor the situation over the next few weeks to see if this is an injury that can linger. Donnell posted solid numbers in 2014 and could be a starting tight end against certain matchups this upcoming season.

New York Giants TE Larry Donnell (leg) appears to have a walking boot on his left leg Monday, June 1, in organized team activities.
Fantasy Tip: There is no word on the reason, but we'll keep you posted. Donnell is a mid-to-low TE1 with upside if it's not serious.
Fri, 29 May 2015 19:22:50 -0700
New York Giants TE Larry Donnell has been working on improving as a blocker during the offseason.
Fantasy Tip: Donnell was an effective red-zone target last season, but his poor blocking skills kept him out of the lineup at times. If he can become even a serviceable blocker, his offensive upside should keep him on the field a lot more in 2015, boosting his fantasy value.
Thu, 05 Mar 2015 10:20:37 -0800
New York Giants TE Larry Donnell was on a Delta Airlines plane that skidded off the runway at New York's La Guardia Airport Thursday, March 5. Donnell was not injured in that incident.
Fantasy Tip: Donnell was a nice addition to fantasy rosters last year, but he may struggle to get as many targets again this year with Odell Beckham Jr. and Victor Cruz back on the field together.
Wed, 04 Mar 2015 12:35:22 -0800
New York Giants TE Larry Donnell was officially tendered as an exclusive rights free agent Wednesday, March 4. The deal is one year in length and worth $585,000.
Fantasy Tip: Donnell turned into quite the waiver wire pickup last season, tallying 63 catches for 623 and six touchdowns. With Odell Beckham Jr., an ideally healthy Victor Cruz and Rueben Randle still in town, however, Donnell may not get as much attention from QB Eli Manning in 2015.
Wed, 22 Oct 2014 21:53:33 -0700
New York Giants TE Larry Donnell is just scratching the surface, according to tight ends coach Kevin M. Gilbride. Some of his mistakes, including fumbles and blocking deficiencies, are simply the product of a player at the low end of his ultimate progression. "He's so green with everything he does," Gilbride said. "He hasn't been playing the position for very long. But he works at it, he tries to get better and it's paid off in the passing game and he's getting better every week in the run game."
Fantasy Tip: Donnell is a tempting play in FantasyScore at $5,000 (or 10.0 percent of the cap). However, he has done next to nothing lately, and is overpriced, even at this level.

New York Giants TE Larry Donnell managed just one reception for six yards in Week 6 against the Philadelphia Eagles, and he was targeted just two times.
Fantasy Tip: Donnell exploded onto the scene against Washington a couple of weeks ago, but just as quickly as he emerged, he has faded. Fantasy owners can safely drop him in all but the deepest of leagues.
Mon, 06 Oct 2014 06:25:49 -0700
New York Giants TE Larry Donnell didn't record a catch in the Week 5 game Sunday, Oct. 5, and received one target. The Atlanta Falcons paid extra attention to him in the game.
Fantasy Tip: Donnell is still a solid TE option most weeks on FantasyScore. However, this is proof there will be teams that key in on him. It's up to the rest of the offense to keep defenses honest.
Sun, 05 Oct 2014 13:44:15 -0700
New York Giants TE Larry Donnell was targeted just once in Week 5 against the Atlanta Falcons, and he did not have any catches or offensive statistics.
Fantasy Tip: There was no known injury to Donnell, so it just appears the Falcons defense did a good job taking him out of the plan. He has been a decent low-end TE1 to this point, but he is still a rookie and is a risky play.
Tue, 30 Sep 2014 17:52:55 -0700
New York Giants TE Larry Donnell is on pace to finish the year with 100 catches, 944 yards and 16 touchdowns. The single-season record for touchdowns by a tight end is currently 17.
Fantasy Tip: Although Donnell's pace is likely to slow now that defenses know that he is big part of the Giants' passing game, his size and athleticism should ensure that Eli Manning will continue to look his way in the red zone. With a salary of $5,900 (11.8% of cap) at FantasyScore in Week 5, Donnell could make a great play against an Atlanta defense that has been one of the worst in the NFL this season.
Thu, 25 Sep 2014 19:06:01 -0700
New York Giants TE Larry Donnell caught six passes on six targets for 40 yards and three touchdowns in the first half of the team's Week 4 game Thursday, Sept. 25.
Fantasy Tip: Donnell was a consistent contributor through the team's first three games, but he is on his way to a monster Week 4 performance. It looks like he is quickly becoming one of Eli Manning's main targets, especially in the red zone. With his size and leaping ability, this could be the first of many big performances for Donnell.

New York Giants TE Larry Donnell is the starting tight end on the team's unofficial depth chart. TEs Daniel Fells and Adrien Robinson are second- and third-string, respectively.
Mon, 25 Aug 2014 14:21:43 -0700
The New York Giants may use a committee approach with their tight ends this season based on different situations, according to head coach Tom Coughlin. "I really think that there'll be a group of guys that'll play that'll help us in different situations and will be matched up according to the circumstance," Coughlin said. "I think that's where it's going to go. I think there's a lot of roles for that spot." TEs Larry Donnell, Adrien Robinson, Daniel Fells and Kellen Davis are expected to make the final roster, but no starter has been named.
Fantasy Tip: None of the tight ends have a lot of fantasy value, and none likely should be drafted in fantasy leagues. Robinson has the most upside and could be a waiver wire pickup during the season if he wins the starting job. Donnell could also have some value if he starts at some point.
Mon, 11 Aug 2014 08:31:35 -0700
New York Giants TE Larry Donnell is leading the positional race so far, according to Dan Graziano, who said Donnell has the surest hands of the group. Daniel Fells' (knee) injury has helped Donnell's cause. He's a good downfield blocker but needs to improve his run blocking at the point of the attack, Graziano said.
Fantasy Tip: This won't be an inspiring group for fantasy purposes. Wait this one out until someone shows he's relevant during the year.

Free-agent TE Jermichael Finley (Packers) is still a possible option for the New York Giants, according Ebenezer Samuel of the New York Daily News. Samuel said the team could consider Finely if TE Adrien Robinson and TE Larry Donnell fail to impress during the preseason.
Fantasy Tip: As often as the Giants throw the ball, whoever ends up securing the starting TE job will be become a potential sleeper at the position.
