Chicago White Sox RP Jake Petricka picked up his first save of the season in the first game of the doubleheader Thursday, May 28, against the Baltimore Orioles.
Fantasy Tip: Petricka was given the save opportunity while David Robertson was allowed to rest after blowing back-to-back saves against Josh Donaldson and the Toronto Blue Jays. Robertson should be considered safe in the closer's role for the time being. Owners don't need to rush out and pick up Petricka.

Chicago White Sox RP Jake Petricka will hang onto his closer's role even with RP Matt Lindstrom (ankle) back from the 15-day disabled list.
Fantasy Tip: Petricka has done an adequate job in the closer's role, and he is a must-start in all AL-only leagues and most mixed formats as a No. 2 fantasy closer.

The Chicago White Sox activated RP Matt Lindstrom (ankle) from the disabled list Tuesday, Aug. 12.
Fantasy Tip: Lindstrom is a very real threat to steal the ninth-inning closing duties from Jake Petricka for the remainder of the season. They could ease Lindstrom back in in less-stressful innings to start, though. Add Lindstrom immediately if you're chasing saves.

The Chicago White Sox activated RP Zach Putnam (shoulder) from the 15-day disabled list Friday, Aug. 8, and optioned RP Andre Rienzo in a corresponding move.
Fantasy Tip: Jake Petricka has been holding down the ninth-inning save duties with Putnam on the DL. Putnam could threaten Petricka for save chances eventually, so if you're searching for saves avenues, Putnam is worth a look in deeper leagues.

Petricka ended up loading up the bases with no outs before settling down and escaping by allowing just one run for the save.

Updating a previous report, Chicago White Sox RP Matt Lindstrom (ankle) is expected to throw a simulated game Tuesday, July 29, in Detroit.
Fantasy Tip: This is expected to be the final step before he begins a minor league rehab assignment. Lindstrom is expected to regain closing duties for the White Sox once he is activated from the disabled list. He is worth stashing away on your bench if you can afford the roster spot. For now, RPs Zach Putnam and Jake Petricka are sharing closing duties on the South Side and should be owned in AL-only formats.

Chicago White Sox RP Zach Putnam (shoulder) has an issue around the middle of his right (throwing) shoulder, near the joint. He felt it in the last few outings and was hoping rest over the All-Star break would help it heal.
Fantasy Tip: Obviously, since he's now on the DL, it hasn't. Jake Petricka is the fantasy pickup as he is in the lead for saves at the moment. However, he may cede those duties if Matt Lindstrom (ankle) proves healthy in the next few weeks.

Chicago White Sox RP Jake Petricka recorded his fourth save Monday, July 21.
Fantasy Tip: It was his first save in two weeks as the team has used a true committee with him and Zach Putnam. Petricka and Putnam should be owned in AL-only leagues and some mixed leagues.
