Cowboys | Two scores for Cole Beasley

Sun, 05 Nov 2017 20:53:25 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley caught four passes for 24 yards and two touchdowns in a 28-17 win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 9.

Fantasy Tip: It was the second time in four games that Beasley has caught two touchdowns, but he hasn't had more than 33 yards in a game this season. The occasional touchdown isn't enough for Beasley to warrant a roster spot.

Cowboys | Cole Beasley to play in Week 9

Sun, 05 Nov 2017 05:28:25 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley (concussion) will play in Week 9's game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Fantasy Tip: Beasley was listed as questionable on the injury report after suffering a concussion last week versus the Kansas City Chiefs, although he was able to participate on a limited basis in practice Thursday, Nov. 2, and as a full participant Friday, Nov. 3. He doesn't have more than 33 receiving yards in any of his seven games this season and has failed to reach the end zone in six of those contests, so he's not worth starting in any fantasy format.

Cowboys | Cole Beasley listed as questionable

Fri, 03 Nov 2017 17:13:02 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley (concussion) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 3, but is listed as questionable for Week 9.

Fantasy Tip: Beasley should be able to play against the Kansas City Chiefs as long as he does not suffer a setback in the next few days. He has been fairly quiet this season and probably can be avoided in most leagues.

Cowboys | Dallas' injury report for Week 9

Fri, 03 Nov 2017 12:56:23 -0700

Dallas Cowboys CB Chido Awuzie (hamstring) and PK Dan Bailey (groin) did not participate in practice this week and have been ruled out for Week 9 versus the Kansas City Chiefs. WR Cole Beasley (concussion) returned to full practice Friday, Nov. 3, while WR Noah Brown (thigh) was limited and DT Maliek Collins did not practice; all three are listed as questionable. WR Dez Bryant (knee), LB Justin Durant (groin), DE Demarcus Lawrence (calf), OT Tyron Smith (back, hip), LB Kyle Wilber (knee) and DT Brian Price (back) each practiced in full Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.

Cowboys | Cole Beasley practices Thursday

Thu, 02 Nov 2017 15:24:52 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley (concussion) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, Nov. 2.

Fantasy Tip: This is good news regarding his availability for Sunday after he missed practice on Wednesday, though he still has to clear the league's concussion protocol in order to suit up in Week 9. Even if he does manage to play, he's not a recommended option outside the deepest of leagues. Beasley is yet to reach 35 receiving yards in a game this season.

Cowboys | Cole Beasley not cleared to practice yet

Wed, 01 Nov 2017 11:03:26 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley (concussion) remains in the league's concussion protocol and will not practice Wednesday, Nov. 1. NFL network's Jane Slater reports Beasley hasn't had many side effects or symptoms and has been involved in team meetings.

Fantasy Tip: Beasley has mysteriously become a virtual afterthought in the offense despite his 75-catch season in 2016, as he is only on pace for 41 this season. Owners should not feel overly compelled to keep him on their rosters as a result.

Cowboys | Concussion for Cole Beasley

Mon, 30 Oct 2017 14:39:15 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley (concussion) is in the concussion protocol and is considered day-to-day, according to head coach Jason Garrett.

Fantasy Tip: Beasley has been a shell of himself in 2017 compared to last year. Through seven games he has only caught 31 balls for 141 yards and two scores. If Beasley does not clear the protocol in time to play this week then Ryan Switzer would take his place. Switzer would be no more than a deep flier, though.

Cowboys | Cole Beasley suffers concussion

Sun, 29 Oct 2017 16:35:08 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley (concussion) was forced out of the Week 8 game against the Washington Redskins due to a concussion.

Fantasy Tip: Beasley's production has been lagging lately and now he is dealing with a concussion. He can be safely dropped in all standard fantasy formats, and he's not doing a lot for his PPR owners lately either.

Cowboys | Just one grab for Cole Beasley

Sun, 22 Oct 2017 19:17:22 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley was limited to just one grab for 24 yards on two targets in Week 7 against the San Francisco 49ers.

Fantasy Tip: Beasley is averaging just 17.0 yards per game over the past four outings and with the exception of his two-touchdown performance in Week 5 he hasn't been much of a fantasy asset, even in PPR formats.

Cowboys | Cole Beasley scores twice in Week 5

Mon, 09 Oct 2017 04:50:51 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley caught four passes for 23 yards and scored two touchdowns in Week 5 against the Green Bay Packers.

Fantasy Tip: Beasley's value improves in games like this one. Green Bay's defense targeted WR Dez Bryant, leaving more opportunities for lower-end wideouts to pick up the slack. Beasley may be more effective in these type of matchups. He remains a solid WR3/WR4 candidate.

Cowboys | Cole Beasley finishes with four grabs

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 20:47:23 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley racked up four receptions for 33 yards on eight targets in Week 2 against the Denver Broncos.

Fantasy Tip: Beasley is a solid slot receiver and nice WR3/4 in PPR fantasy formats, although the Dallas pass game was mostly shut down early on. Beasley will look for better results in Week 3 against the Cardinals on the road Monday night.

Cowboys | Cole Beasley secures three catches

Sun, 10 Sep 2017 22:06:02 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley posted three receptions for 32 yards in Week 1 against the Giants.

Fantasy Tip: Beasley was targeted five times in the game. His biggest highlight was a ridiculous catch over his shoulder, securing the ball with one hand to the back of his helmet for a reception. He is a decent slot receiver worth using in most PPR formats heading into Week 2 in Denver, especially if Dez Bryant is shaded by Aqib Talib.

Cowboys | Cole Beasley ready for camp

Mon, 24 Jul 2017 14:52:54 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley (hamstring) is prepared to receive a full workload in training camp, according to head coach Jason Garrett. Beasley has been hampered by a hamstring injury that sidelined him during offseason activities.

Fantasy Tip: Beasley is coming off a career year in which he immediately earned the trust of Dak Prescott. It would behoove owners to draft him primarily in PPR leagues, though, as his play style limits his yardage and touchdown ceilings.

Cowboys | Cole Beasley's injury has lingered

Wed, 14 Jun 2017 12:59:02 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley (hamstring) said he has been dealing with his hamstring injury since Week 10 of the 2016 season. He said he would be able to play in a game now if needed and believes rest will heal the injury.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to check on Beasley's status at the start of training camp to see if he has recovered from the injury. He was a tremendous slot receiver for the Cowboys in 2016 and finished the season with 833 yards and five touchdowns. He probably should be considered a No. 4 receiver in fantasy leagues.

Cowboys | Ryan Switzer to have 'significant' role

Fri, 26 May 2017 11:19:42 -0700

Dallas Cowboys fourth-round pick WR Ryan Switzer is getting first-team reps in the slot while WR Cole Beasley is dealing hamstring soreness. However, while head coach Jason Garrett has made it clear while Switzer was drafted in part for his ability to back up Beasley, the Cowboys are working on packages for both to be on the field at the same time to take advantage of mismatches. "(Switzer) has a similar game (to Beasley), but he has his own things. We would really like those two guys to be able to complement each other and run real similar route trees. … His role is significant. … He complements Beasley and also gives us some big-time needed depth at that position," Garrett said.

Fantasy Tip: Beasley is coming off a career-high 75-catch season and figures to remain the top slot option for at least this season, but the heat will be on. Switzer is a dynamic return man and possesses more talent, so it may only be a matter of time before their roles are reversed. While Beasley is easily the better redraft option in 2017, Switzer is the better long-term use of a roster spot in dynasty.

Cowboys | Cole Beasley dealing with injury

Wed, 24 May 2017 13:22:19 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley (hamstring) has not been able to participate in organized team activities this week because of a hamstring injury.

Fantasy Tip: Beasley likely will not do much during offseason workouts but should be ready for training camp at the latest. He was a big part of the passing game this past season with 75 receptions, 855 receiving yards and five touchdowns. Beasley should have a similar role in the offense in 2017 and can be a No. 4 receiver in fantasy leagues.

Cowboys | Jason Garrett plans to play starters

Tue, 27 Dec 2016 16:31:10 -0800

Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett said the "preliminary plan" for the team's Week 17 game against the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday, Jan. 1, is to play the starters who are healthy.

Fantasy Tip: Garrett has been maintaining this all along, so there should be no doubts that the starters will at least get some work in during the season finale. The question is exactly how much playing time the Dallas starters will receive, especially after the likes of Dak Prescott, Dez Bryant and Ezekiel Elliott were done after the third quarter Monday night, but that could be attributed to the contest being a blowout. Either way, all the regulars on offense will be risky plays.

Cowboys | Favorable matchup for Cole Beasley

Sat, 17 Dec 2016 18:10:43 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley will be covered primarily by Tampa Bay CB Javien Elliott in Week 15, who will have an expanded role, according to defensive coordinator Mike Smith.

Fantasy Tip: Beasley enters the game as Dallas' leading receiver, and he is more than capable of exploiting the matchup with the rookie Elliott. Beasley could be sneaky flex play in Week 15, especially in PPR formats.

Cowboys | Cole Beasley finds end zone

Sun, 20 Nov 2016 17:01:43 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley managed five catches for 59 yards and a touchdown on six targets in the Week 11 game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Fantasy Tip: Beasley has jelled nicely with rookie Dak Prescott, with or without Dez Bryant in the lineup. Beasley has four or more grabs in six straight games, and nine of his 10 outings this season. He has also visited the end zone five times in the past six games. He is a solid WR3 in deeper PPR fantasy formats due to his high catch rate.

Cowboys | Cole Beasley finds end zone

Sun, 06 Nov 2016 13:34:00 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley caught six passes for 56 yards and one touchdown against the Cleveland Browns in Week 9.

Fantasy Tip: Beasley has been a reliable target for the Cowboys this season and has caught four touchdowns in the last four games. He will continue to be a popular target for Dak Prescott and should be a fine No. 3 receiver in all leagues.

Cowboys | Cole Beasley scores pair of TDs

Sun, 16 Oct 2016 22:54:32 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley racked up six receptions for 58 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the Week 6 game against the Green Bay Packers. He was targeted six times.

Fantasy Tip: Beasley has at least 53 yards in each of the past three games and he has three touchdowns during the span, making up somewhat for the loss of Dez Bryant. Beasley is worth using as a WR4 in most fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams until Bryant is healthy. The Cowboys are off in Week 7.

Cowboys | Cole Beasley suffered stinger

Tue, 13 Sep 2016 21:21:41 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley suffered a stinger late in the club's Week 1 loss to the New York Giants. The injury is not considered serious, however, and he should be fine for Dallas' Week 2 meeting with the Washington Redskins.

Fantasy Tip: Beasley caught eight passes for 65 yards and, along with Jason Witten, was a popular target of rookie Dak Prescott. Beasley had a critical drop, but there's no substitute for opportunities, and Dallas' slot receiver is a viable WR5 with added value in PPR formats.

Cowboys | Cole Beasley leads Dallas in targets

Fri, 26 Aug 2016 12:39:39 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley led the team in targets with six in their preseason game Thursday, August 25, against the Seattle Seahawks. He ended up with four catches for 30 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Beasley is a pretty good receiver to have in the slot, but it doesn't always add up to fantasy value. He was a mixed bag throughout all of last season, though a lot of that had to do with the injury to starting quarterback Tony Romo. Beasley could be a solid streaming option on some weeks, but his lack of consistency makes it hard to trust him on a regular basis.

Cowboys | Cole Beasley probable for Week 17

Fri, 01 Jan 2016 14:40:12 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley (knee) was limited during practice Friday, Jan. 1, and is probable for the Week 17 game against the Washington Redskins.

Fantasy Tip: Beasley ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) has flamed out to conclude the season with just eight receptions and 91 receiving yards over his past four outings. At best, he is a desperation source of cap relief at FantasyScore in Week 17, but you should likely aim higher. Dallas' current offensive game plan doesn't yield much of a fantasy return for pass catchers.

Cowboys | Cole Beasley limited

Thu, 31 Dec 2015 13:50:06 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley (knee) was limited in practice Thursday, Dec. 31.

Fantasy Tip: Unfortunately for Beasley ($2,500, 5.0% of cap), Kellen Moore is now starting at quarterback, so none of the Dallas wide receivers have much value this week.

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley (knee) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Dec. 30.

Fantasy Tip: None of the Cowboys receivers should be considered on FantasyScore with Kellen Moore in line for another start, including Beasley ($2,500, 5.0% of cap).

Cowboys | Cole Beasley's status uncertain

Fri, 25 Dec 2015 15:51:42 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley (knee, illness) did not participate in practice Friday, Dec. 25, and is listed as questionable for the Week 16 game against the Buffalo Bills.

Fantasy Tip: Beasley ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) may be a game-time decision for the game, so owners will need to check the inactive list. Beasley have been pretty quiet over the last several weeks and is not a great option even if he does play.

Cowboys | Jason Witten, Cole Beasley limited

Thu, 24 Dec 2015 13:00:03 -0800

Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten (chest) and WR Cole Beasley (knee, illness) were limited participants in practice Thursday, Dec. 24.

Fantasy Tip: Witten ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) and Beasley ($2,500, 5.0%) should still be able to play unless they suffer any setbacks, but they can't really be trusted to produce with Kellen Moore at quarterback. Witten is a safer bet, though, and could be the safety blanket for Moore in Week 16.

Cowboys | Cole Beasley out sick

Wed, 23 Dec 2015 11:06:58 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley (illness) is not practicing Wednesday, Dec. 23.

Fantasy Tip: It's unlikely to keep him from playing against the Buffalo Bills, but keep an eye on Beasley ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) throughout the week. With Kellen Moore now starting for Dallas, you shouldn't want to rely on any Cowboys receivers on FantasyScore, even in a plus matchup against Buffalo.

Cowboys | Cole Beasley has career night

Sun, 08 Nov 2015 22:19:37 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley had nine receptions for a career-high 112 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 9 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He was targeted 11 times.

Fantasy Tip: Beasley ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) could carry the momentum into Week 10 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a team which has struggled at times against the pass. In FantasyScore, he could be a nice sleeper play at a low price.

Cowboys | Cole Beasley makes presence felt

Sun, 04 Oct 2015 22:08:16 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley had six receptions for 62 yards in the Week 4 game against the New Orleans Saints.

Fantasy Tip: Beasley ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is a decent low-end FantasyScore option as a WR3 or flex play, especially after the team lost Brice Butler and Lance Dunbar to injury. Someone has to dominate those short to intermediate routes in Dallas.

Cowboys | Cole Beasley has solid game

Sun, 27 Sep 2015 22:08:16 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley posted four receptions for 49 yards in the Week 3 game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Fantasy Tip: Beasley ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) is a decent slot receiver, and he'll see plenty of targets with Brandon Weeden under center throwing more short and intermediate routes.

Cowboys | Cole Beasley, Devin Street on stat sheet

Sun, 20 Sep 2015 21:52:48 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley posted four receptions for 14 yards in the Week 2 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He was targeted five times. WR Devin Street was targeted twice and he finished with one reception for 18 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Street ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is a big body who could see targets in the red zone, while Beasley ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) is useful on short to intermediate routes. Each are low-end FantasyScore options, especially now that Brandon Weeden will be under center instead of the injured Tony Romo.

Cowboys | Cole Beasley not moving up?

Wed, 16 Sep 2015 20:32:59 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley might not necessarily be a shoe-in to start opposite WR Terrance Williams with WR Dez Bryant (foot) sidelined. Beat writer Bryan Broaddus indicated WR Devin Street might be in line for the No. 2 job.

Fantasy Tip: Beasley ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) is a shifty little receiver, while Street is a big target standing eight inches taller. If Street ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) does indeed start, he would be a FantasyScore steal.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant to have surgery Tuesday

Mon, 14 Sep 2015 09:27:36 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot) will have surgery to fix a broken fifth metatarsal in his right foot Tuesday, Sept. 15, according to a source. Bryant is expected to miss four to six weeks. The Cowboys have their bye on Oct. 18, so Bryant could return Oct. 26 against the New York Giants. WRs Terrance Williams and Cole Beasley and TE Jason Witten will likely be focal points in the offense with Bryant out. WR Devin Street will likely start in Bryant's spot with Beasley primarily working in the slot.

Fantasy Tip: With Bryant out, the rest of Dallas' offensive weapons all receive a boost to their fantasy value on a week-to-week basis except probably Tony Romo. Williams ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) should now be universally owned. Take a flier on Street ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) in more cavernous leagues or as a deep sleeper on FantasyScore starting in Week 2.

Cowboys | Cole Beasley finishes with 49 yards

Sun, 13 Sep 2015 22:07:10 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley managed four receptions for 49 yards in the Week 1 win against the New York Giants. He also lost a fumble which was scooped up for a touchdown.

Fantasy Tip: Beasley ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) did not have a great night, but he will see more responsibilities over the next month with Dez Bryant recovering from foot surgery. Beasley could be a nice low-end FantasyScore option with some upside.

Cowboys | Cole Beasley added to injured list

Tue, 18 Aug 2015 15:29:54 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley (Achilles') was added to the injured list Tuesday, Aug. 18, with a sore Achilles'.

Fantasy Tip: It doesn't seem like anything too major for Beasley, but owners will want to wait for a return to practice before taking a late-round flier on the Cowboys' likely slot receiver.

Tue, 18 Aug 2015 13:49:20 -0700

Cowboys | Cole Beasley a frequent target

Fri, 14 Aug 2015 08:12:49 -0700

Cowboys | Cole Beasley staying in slot

Tue, 14 Jul 2015 07:42:56 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley has remained in the slot receiver role with WR Dez Bryant absent this offseason.

Fantasy Tip: Beasley was leapfrogged by Devin Street with Bryant absent, which speaks volumes to how the team views his limitations. Beasley might be worth a WR5 flyer, but he doesn't have a lot of upside.

Cowboys | Cole Beasley could be a returner

Thu, 09 Jul 2015 10:43:02 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley could be used as a returner this season since the team has not filled the role.

Fantasy Tip: Beasley should have a solid role in the offense, so it is not known if this will be a realistic option for Beasley. He recorded 420 receiving yards and four touchdowns last season and should receive regular playing time in 2015. Beasley could be a late-round option in deeper leagues.

Tue, 26 May 2015 09:57:53 -0700

Free-agent WR A.J. Jenkins (Chiefs) signed an undisclosed deal with the Dallas Cowboys Tuesday, May 26, according to a source. Jenkins was the 30th overall pick by the San Francisco 49ers in 2012, but he didn't catch a pass in three games with them. Dallas wanted to add a veteran receiver with WR Dez Bryant not taking part in the offseason training program. WRs Terrance Williams and Devin Street have worked with the first team in Bryant's absence, with WR Cole Beasley playing the slot.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant to return punts?

Mon, 11 May 2015 11:27:58 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant may return punts in 2015, according to executive vice president Stephen Jones. With the loss of former WR Dwayne Harris, the Cowboys are in need of a new punt returner. Jones said that WR Cole Beasley will probably be the first option, but that Bryant could also be used since he returned punts in college and has done so in his professional career.

Fantasy Tip: It would be somewhat surprising to see Bryant play a lot on special teams with how valuable he is on offense. Whoever does the returning will have added value in leagues that score returns.

Cowboys | Dallas extends Cole Beasley

Tue, 03 Mar 2015 09:43:41 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley agreed to a four-year contract extension worth $13.1 million. The extension could be worth as much as $15.1 million.

Fantasy Tip: Beasley's value could increase depending on how the Dez Bryant contract extension plays out. Until that is sorted out, he should still be considered in deeper leagues heading into 2015.

Cowboys | Cole Beasley talking extension

Thu, 26 Feb 2015 23:15:53 -0800

Free-agent WR Cole Beasley (Cowboys) and the Dallas Cowboys are discussing a contract extension that would keep Beasley under control for multiple seasons.

Fantasy Tip: Beasley's fantasy value could increase depending on how the Dez Bryant situation turns out. For now Beasley is an option in deeper fantasy leagues because Beasley is down on the depth chart, but Beasley did catch 37 passes for 420 yards and four touchdowns.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams has No. 2 job locked down

Tue, 12 Aug 2014 15:55:39 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams has done everything asked of him in training camp as the No. 2 wide receiver opposite WR Dez Bryant. The No. 3 receiver position seems to be a committee with WR Cole Beasley as the leader among TE Gavin Escobar and WRs Dwayne Harris and Devin Street.

Fantasy Tip: Williams is a big-play threat, much like Bryant, in an offense that should see him gain a sizeable increase in targets. This could be a breakout year for Williams, and he'll surely have weeks where he could carry a lineup.

Cowboys | Cole Beasley turning heads

Thu, 31 Jul 2014 22:24:43 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley may not come off the field when Cowboys WR Dez Bryant is moved around. Beasley primarily works out of the slot, but Bryant sometimes will move into the slot to take advantage of a mismatch. Bryant went as far as calling Beasley a "rare talent" and praised the third-year receiver's ability to get open and make plays. Beasley has worked to improve his blocking skills, an area of his game he noted needs to get better. Beasley is stronger, which will help him beat press coverage, according to Dallas head coach Jason Garrett.

Fantasy Tip: Beasley is a sleeper candidate to target in the late rounds of PPR drafts. He may be the fourth target some weeks, but Dallas' likely putrid defense could mean even more passing than usual from this wide receiver-friendly system.

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley expanded his route inventory and is going to be a much better player this year, according to wide receivers coach Derek Dooley. He worked in the slot the majority of the time during offseason workouts, but he did also spend time working outside.

Fantasy Tip: Beasley will see fewer targets than Dez Bryant, Jason Witten and Terrance Williams, but in the Cowboy's high-flying offense, he is an intriguing late-round flier. He could develop into a weekly flex play in deep-PPR leagues.
