Tue, 13 Sep 2016 21:21:41 -0700
Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley suffered a stinger late in the club's Week 1 loss to the New York Giants. The injury is not considered serious, however, and he should be fine for Dallas' Week 2 meeting with the Washington Redskins.
Fantasy Tip: Beasley caught eight passes for 65 yards and, along with Jason Witten, was a popular target of rookie Dak Prescott. Beasley had a critical drop, but there's no substitute for opportunities, and Dallas' slot receiver is a viable WR5 with added value in PPR formats.
Fri, 26 Aug 2016 12:39:39 -0700
Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley led the team in targets with six in their preseason game Thursday, August 25, against the Seattle Seahawks. He ended up with four catches for 30 yards.
Fantasy Tip: Beasley is a pretty good receiver to have in the slot, but it doesn't always add up to fantasy value. He was a mixed bag throughout all of last season, though a lot of that had to do with the injury to starting quarterback Tony Romo. Beasley could be a solid streaming option on some weeks, but his lack of consistency makes it hard to trust him on a regular basis.
Fri, 01 Jan 2016 14:40:12 -0800
Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley (knee) was limited during practice Friday, Jan. 1, and is probable for the Week 17 game against the Washington Redskins.
Fantasy Tip: Beasley ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) has flamed out to conclude the season with just eight receptions and 91 receiving yards over his past four outings. At best, he is a desperation source of cap relief at FantasyScore in Week 17, but you should likely aim higher. Dallas' current offensive game plan doesn't yield much of a fantasy return for pass catchers.
Thu, 31 Dec 2015 13:50:06 -0800
Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley (knee) was limited in practice Thursday, Dec. 31.
Fantasy Tip: Unfortunately for Beasley ($2,500, 5.0% of cap), Kellen Moore is now starting at quarterback, so none of the Dallas wide receivers have much value this week.
Wed, 30 Dec 2015 16:33:00 -0800
Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley (knee) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Dec. 30.
Fantasy Tip: None of the Cowboys receivers should be considered on FantasyScore with Kellen Moore in line for another start, including Beasley ($2,500, 5.0% of cap).
Fri, 25 Dec 2015 15:51:42 -0800
Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley (knee, illness) did not participate in practice Friday, Dec. 25, and is listed as questionable for the Week 16 game against the Buffalo Bills.
Fantasy Tip: Beasley ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) may be a game-time decision for the game, so owners will need to check the inactive list. Beasley have been pretty quiet over the last several weeks and is not a great option even if he does play.
Thu, 24 Dec 2015 13:00:03 -0800
Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten (chest) and WR Cole Beasley (knee, illness) were limited participants in practice Thursday, Dec. 24.
Fantasy Tip: Witten ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) and Beasley ($2,500, 5.0%) should still be able to play unless they suffer any setbacks, but they can't really be trusted to produce with Kellen Moore at quarterback. Witten is a safer bet, though, and could be the safety blanket for Moore in Week 16.
Wed, 23 Dec 2015 11:06:58 -0800
Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley (illness) is not practicing Wednesday, Dec. 23.
Fantasy Tip: It's unlikely to keep him from playing against the Buffalo Bills, but keep an eye on Beasley ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) throughout the week. With Kellen Moore now starting for Dallas, you shouldn't want to rely on any Cowboys receivers on FantasyScore, even in a plus matchup against Buffalo.
Sun, 08 Nov 2015 22:19:37 -0800
Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley had nine receptions for a career-high 112 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 9 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He was targeted 11 times.
Fantasy Tip: Beasley ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) could carry the momentum into Week 10 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a team which has struggled at times against the pass. In FantasyScore, he could be a nice sleeper play at a low price.
Sun, 04 Oct 2015 22:08:16 -0700
Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley had six receptions for 62 yards in the Week 4 game against the New Orleans Saints.
Fantasy Tip: Beasley ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is a decent low-end FantasyScore option as a WR3 or flex play, especially after the team lost Brice Butler and Lance Dunbar to injury. Someone has to dominate those short to intermediate routes in Dallas.
Sun, 27 Sep 2015 22:08:16 -0700
Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley posted four receptions for 49 yards in the Week 3 game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Fantasy Tip: Beasley ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) is a decent slot receiver, and he'll see plenty of targets with Brandon Weeden under center throwing more short and intermediate routes.
Sun, 20 Sep 2015 21:52:48 -0700
Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley posted four receptions for 14 yards in the Week 2 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He was targeted five times. WR Devin Street was targeted twice and he finished with one reception for 18 yards.
Fantasy Tip: Street ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is a big body who could see targets in the red zone, while Beasley ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) is useful on short to intermediate routes. Each are low-end FantasyScore options, especially now that Brandon Weeden will be under center instead of the injured Tony Romo.
Wed, 16 Sep 2015 20:32:59 -0700
Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley might not necessarily be a shoe-in to start opposite WR Terrance Williams with WR Dez Bryant (foot) sidelined. Beat writer Bryan Broaddus indicated WR Devin Street might be in line for the No. 2 job.
Fantasy Tip: Beasley ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) is a shifty little receiver, while Street is a big target standing eight inches taller. If Street ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) does indeed start, he would be a FantasyScore steal.
Mon, 14 Sep 2015 09:27:36 -0700
Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot) will have surgery to fix a broken fifth metatarsal in his right foot Tuesday, Sept. 15, according to a source. Bryant is expected to miss four to six weeks. The Cowboys have their bye on Oct. 18, so Bryant could return Oct. 26 against the New York Giants. WRs Terrance Williams and Cole Beasley and TE Jason Witten will likely be focal points in the offense with Bryant out. WR Devin Street will likely start in Bryant's spot with Beasley primarily working in the slot.
Fantasy Tip: With Bryant out, the rest of Dallas' offensive weapons all receive a boost to their fantasy value on a week-to-week basis except probably Tony Romo. Williams ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) should now be universally owned. Take a flier on Street ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) in more cavernous leagues or as a deep sleeper on FantasyScore starting in Week 2.
Sun, 13 Sep 2015 22:07:10 -0700
Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley managed four receptions for 49 yards in the Week 1 win against the New York Giants. He also lost a fumble which was scooped up for a touchdown.
Fantasy Tip: Beasley ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) did not have a great night, but he will see more responsibilities over the next month with Dez Bryant recovering from foot surgery. Beasley could be a nice low-end FantasyScore option with some upside.
Tue, 18 Aug 2015 15:29:54 -0700
Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley (Achilles') was added to the injured list Tuesday, Aug. 18, with a sore Achilles'.
Fantasy Tip: It doesn't seem like anything too major for Beasley, but owners will want to wait for a return to practice before taking a late-round flier on the Cowboys' likely slot receiver.
Tue, 18 Aug 2015 13:49:20 -0700
Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley (Achilles') was limited in practice Tuesday, Aug. 18, with a sore Achilles' tendon.
Fantasy Tip: Beasley should really only be owned in PPR leagues, where you could do worse than him as a WR5.
Fri, 14 Aug 2015 08:12:49 -0700
Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley has been a go-to receiver for QB Tony Romo in training camp.
Fantasy Tip: Beasley's role in the offense could increase, but Devin Street could cut into his action. Beasley is a WR5 flyer in PPR leagues.
Tue, 14 Jul 2015 07:42:56 -0700
Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley has remained in the slot receiver role with WR Dez Bryant absent this offseason.
Fantasy Tip: Beasley was leapfrogged by Devin Street with Bryant absent, which speaks volumes to how the team views his limitations. Beasley might be worth a WR5 flyer, but he doesn't have a lot of upside.
Thu, 09 Jul 2015 10:43:02 -0700
Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley could be used as a returner this season since the team has not filled the role.
Fantasy Tip: Beasley should have a solid role in the offense, so it is not known if this will be a realistic option for Beasley. He recorded 420 receiving yards and four touchdowns last season and should receive regular playing time in 2015. Beasley could be a late-round option in deeper leagues.
Tue, 26 May 2015 09:57:53 -0700
Free-agent WR A.J. Jenkins (Chiefs) signed an undisclosed deal with the Dallas Cowboys Tuesday, May 26, according to a source. Jenkins was the 30th overall pick by the San Francisco 49ers in 2012, but he didn't catch a pass in three games with them. Dallas wanted to add a veteran receiver with WR Dez Bryant not taking part in the offseason training program. WRs Terrance Williams and Devin Street have worked with the first team in Bryant's absence, with WR Cole Beasley playing the slot.
Mon, 11 May 2015 11:27:58 -0700
Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant may return punts in 2015, according to executive vice president Stephen Jones. With the loss of former WR Dwayne Harris, the Cowboys are in need of a new punt returner. Jones said that WR Cole Beasley will probably be the first option, but that Bryant could also be used since he returned punts in college and has done so in his professional career.
Fantasy Tip: It would be somewhat surprising to see Bryant play a lot on special teams with how valuable he is on offense. Whoever does the returning will have added value in leagues that score returns.
Tue, 03 Mar 2015 09:43:41 -0800
Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley agreed to a four-year contract extension worth $13.1 million. The extension could be worth as much as $15.1 million.
Fantasy Tip: Beasley's value could increase depending on how the Dez Bryant contract extension plays out. Until that is sorted out, he should still be considered in deeper leagues heading into 2015.
Thu, 26 Feb 2015 23:15:53 -0800
Free-agent WR Cole Beasley (Cowboys) and the Dallas Cowboys are discussing a contract extension that would keep Beasley under control for multiple seasons.
Fantasy Tip: Beasley's fantasy value could increase depending on how the Dez Bryant situation turns out. For now Beasley is an option in deeper fantasy leagues because Beasley is down on the depth chart, but Beasley did catch 37 passes for 420 yards and four touchdowns.
Tue, 12 Aug 2014 15:55:39 -0700
Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams has done everything asked of him in training camp as the No. 2 wide receiver opposite WR Dez Bryant. The No. 3 receiver position seems to be a committee with WR Cole Beasley as the leader among TE Gavin Escobar and WRs Dwayne Harris and Devin Street.
Fantasy Tip: Williams is a big-play threat, much like Bryant, in an offense that should see him gain a sizeable increase in targets. This could be a breakout year for Williams, and he'll surely have weeks where he could carry a lineup.
Thu, 31 Jul 2014 22:24:43 -0700
Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley may not come off the field when Cowboys WR Dez Bryant is moved around. Beasley primarily works out of the slot, but Bryant sometimes will move into the slot to take advantage of a mismatch. Bryant went as far as calling Beasley a "rare talent" and praised the third-year receiver's ability to get open and make plays. Beasley has worked to improve his blocking skills, an area of his game he noted needs to get better. Beasley is stronger, which will help him beat press coverage, according to Dallas head coach Jason Garrett.
Fantasy Tip: Beasley is a sleeper candidate to target in the late rounds of PPR drafts. He may be the fourth target some weeks, but Dallas' likely putrid defense could mean even more passing than usual from this wide receiver-friendly system.
Thu, 03 Jul 2014 12:09:13 -0700
Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley expanded his route inventory and is going to be a much better player this year, according to wide receivers coach Derek Dooley. He worked in the slot the majority of the time during offseason workouts, but he did also spend time working outside.
Fantasy Tip: Beasley will see fewer targets than Dez Bryant, Jason Witten and Terrance Williams, but in the Cowboy's high-flying offense, he is an intriguing late-round flier. He could develop into a weekly flex play in deep-PPR leagues.

Sat, 23 Nov 2013 09:12:25 -0800
Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley will be active for the team's Week 12 game even though WR Miles Austin (hamstring) is expected to return to the lineup.
Fri, 25 Oct 2013 13:14:39 -0700
Dallas Cowboys WR Miles Austin (hamstring) was limited in practice Friday, Oct. 25, and is listed as questionable for Week 8 against the Detroit Lions. Head coach Jason Garrett mentioned possibly resting Austin so that he could be healthy for the second half of the season.
Fantasy Tip: Relying on Austin is a very risky proposition. To be safe, it would be wise to avoid him like the plague. Even if he plays, there is a good chance he'll have his snaps limited. Terrance Williams and Cole Beasley will pick up the slack and are nice sleeper options.
Thu, 24 Oct 2013 14:19:55 -0700
Dallas Cowboys WR Miles Austin (hamstring) limited in practice again Thursday, Oct. 24.
Fantasy Tip: Austin will likely be questionable for Week 8, and he remains a very risky play. Bump up Terrance Williams and Cole Beasley in your weekly rankings against the Detroit Lions. They both make for intriguing flex options.
Fri, 11 Oct 2013 11:34:29 -0700
Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys WR Miles Austin (hamstring) will return to action in Week 6 against the Washington Redskins. "I'm playing in the game," Austin said. "I feel fine." WR Terrance Williams caught 11 passes for 222 yards and a touchdown during Austin's two-game absence, and WR Cole Beasley caught seven passes for 63 yards and a score. The Cowboys don't anticipate limiting Austin in the game if he's good to go. "I'm not in control of the reps," Austin said. "I'm going to go out and go every time I get the chance."
Fantasy Tip: We wouldn't be shocked if the Cowboys play it safe and limit his snaps to avoid a setback. Williams has been impressive in Austin's absence, and he should still be a decent flex play against the Redskins. If you have other strong options at wideout, sitting Austin is a safe play.
