Patriots | Travaris Cadet may not make team

Sun, 30 Aug 2015 15:54:21 -0700

New England Patriots RB Travaris Cadet (hamstring) could be on the outside looking in as he deals with a hamstring injury that has kept him off the field this preseason, according to ESPNBoston.com's Mike Reiss.

Fantasy Tip: LeGarrette Blount, Jonas Gray, Brandon Bolden, James White and Dion Lewis all seem to be ahead of Cadet. He could be on the brink of being waived/injured soon. Blount is really the only Patriot running back worth drafting at this point, although one of Bolden, White and Lewis could turn into a PPR sleeper.

Patriots | Travaris Cadet misses practice

Mon, 10 Aug 2015 13:24:12 -0700

New England Patriots RB Travaris Cadet (undisclosed) was not at practice Monday, Aug. 10, two days after leaving practice with an undisclosed injury.

Fantasy Tip: The injury and its extent are still unknown, so Cadet's status will have to be monitored as training camp continues and the preseason begins. He could be in line for a sizable role in New England's passing game this year with the loss of Shane Vereen. Cadet is a sleeper in PPR leagues.

Patriots | Travaris Cadet leaves practice

Sat, 08 Aug 2015 07:22:51 -0700

New England Patriots RB Travaris Cadet (undisclosed) left practice early Saturday, Aug. 8, after suffering an undisclosed injury.

Fantasy Tip: Cadet is expected to compete for a roster spot during training camp, but it will not help if he is sidelined for an extended period of time. Cadet probably would see limited work if he makes the team and is not an option in drafts.

Patriots | Travaris Cadet has chance to shine

Wed, 05 Aug 2015 18:29:29 -0700

New England Patriots RB Travaris Cadet has a legitimate chance to be the first running back on the field in Week 1.

Fantasy Tip: Cadet is battling RBs Jonas Gray, Dion Lewis and James White for touches in training camp and the preseason. Keep a close eye on the battle before investing more than a late-round fantasy pick on any of these tailbacks.

Patriots | NE RBs in close battle

Tue, 21 Jul 2015 16:01:41 -0700

New England Patriots RBs James White, Travaris Cadet and Dion Lewis aren't far apart in the battle to take over the pass-catching role vacated by New York Giants RB Shane Vereen, according to Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com.

Fantasy Tip: This position battle should begin to have a clearer picture once training camp commences. Cadet has more experience, but White and Lewis have the talent to win the position as well. Stay tuned to this situation as training camp progresses.

Patriots | Travaris Cadet signs with Patriots

Tue, 17 Mar 2015 14:33:31 -0700

Free-agent RB Travaris Cadet (Saints) has signed with the New England Patriots Tuesday, March 17. Terms of the deal were undisclosed.

Fantasy Tip: Cadet figures to take over the role Shane Vereen held in New England, meaning most of his work will be done in passing situations. Cadet will have added value in point-per-reception leagues, with LeGarrette Blount likely receiving most of the work on running downs.

Saints | Three RBs on Saints' roster

Wed, 04 Mar 2015 16:29:11 -0800

Updating a previous report, free-agent RB Pierre Thomas' (Saints) release by the New Orleans Saints Wednesday, March 4, will save $1.735 million against the salary cap, and he carries an $830,000 "dead money" charge. Thomas would have counted $2.565 million against the salary cap this year. The Saints currently have three running backs on roster: RBs Khiry Robinson, Edwin Baker and Tim Hightower. RBs Travaris Cadet and Mark Ingram are both scheduled to be free agents.

Fantasy Tip: The release of PT cruiser isn't unexpected, since his role had quickly diminished over the last couple of seasons. If Ingram isn't re-signed, Robinson will have a clear path to the lead-back duties in New Orleans. And in an offense as potent as this, that'll make him very intriguing to fantasy football owners. Robinson could head into 2015 as a low-end RB1.
