Royals | Yordano Ventura sharp Sunday

Sun, 26 Jul 2015 16:16:55 -0700

Kansas City Royals SP Yordano Ventura allowed one run on six hits and struck out five over seven innings in a win over the Houston Astros Sunday, July 26.

Fantasy Tip: Ventura ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) has been hot and cold all year, and despite the solid outing, he could lose his spot in the rotation to make room for the newly acquired Johnny Cueto ($8,900, 17.8% of cap). If he does stay in the rotation, he is a high-risk, high-reward option at FantasyScore.

Royals | Yordano Ventura to start Sunday

Wed, 22 Jul 2015 22:15:08 -0700

Kansas City Royals SP Yordano Ventura has been recalled from Class AAA Omaha to start Sunday, July 26, against the Houston Astros.

Fantasy Tip: Ventura ($5,100; or 10.2% of cap) gets a new lease on life due to the Jason Vargas injury after having been banished to the minors. FantasyScore owners will want to see a little bit of consistency before pulling the trigger on him again.

Royals | Yordano Ventura recalled

Kansas City Royals SP Yordano Ventura was recalled from Triple-A Omaha Wednesday, July 22.

Fantasy Tip: Ventura ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) could take a turn in the rotation in a few days, but he should be avoided for now amidst his struggles.

Royals | Yordano Ventura sent down

Tue, 21 Jul 2015 19:24:53 -0700

The Kansas City Royals optioned SP Yordano Ventura to Class AAA Omaha Tuesday, July 21.

Fantasy Tip: Ventura might want to stick around, however, as the team lost Jason Vargas to an ankle or foot ailment in Tuesday's start. He might be headed right back down Interstate 29 to KC as we speak.

Royals | Yordano Ventura wins in return

Thu, 09 Jul 2015 15:32:34 -0700

Kansas City Royals SP Yordano Ventura allowed three runs and four hits while walking three and striking four to beat the Tampa Bay Rays Thursday, July 9, in his first start since June 12 due to an elbow condition that left his hand numb. Ventura threw 54 of his 88 pitches for strikes in his five-inning outing.

Fantasy Tip: Ventura ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) has had a very up and down year that has been marred by nagging injuries, but his owners can take this as a great sign heading into the second half of the season. Continue to pick and choose your starts with Ventura on FantasyScore in the second half.

Royals | Yordano Ventura activated

Thu, 09 Jul 2015 08:13:43 -0700

Kansas City Royals SP Yordano Ventura (elbow) was activated from the 15-day disabled list Thursday, July 9, and he'll face the Tampa Bay Rays.

Fantasy Tip: Ventura ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) has a good matchup and his price isn't terrible, but he's a roll of the dice on FantasyScore fresh off the DL.

Royals | Yordano Ventura set for return

Wed, 08 Jul 2015 18:11:18 -0700

Kansas City Royals SP Yordano Ventura (arm) will come off the 15-day disabled list to start Thursday, July 9, against the Tampa Bay Rays. He has a .247 opponent batting average in five home starts, but also a dismal 2-3 record with a 4.78 ERA.

Fantasy Tip: Ventura ($4,900; or 9.8% of cap) should be avoided in FantasyScore until he can prove his health in a full start without any setbacks and he can start to pitch with more consistency.

Royals | Yordano Ventura could return Thursday

Mon, 06 Jul 2015 09:09:39 -0700

Kansas City Royals SP Yordano Ventura (elbow) will throw a side session Monday, July 6, rather than pitch in another rehab game, according to manager Ned Yost. Ventura could return against the Tampa Bay Rays Thursday, July 9.

Fantasy Tip: Ventura ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) should remain stashed in all fantasy formats. He's been wildly inconsistent this year and has dealt with several different nagging ailments. He owns a 4.68 ERA and 1.26 WHIP in 12 starts this year. Ventura is a high-risk, high-reward starter on FantasyScore, but we don't recommend trusting him with a lineup spot in his first turn back off the DL.

Royals | Yordano Ventura progressing nicely

Sat, 04 Jul 2015 20:27:03 -0700

Kansas City Royals SP Yordano Ventura (elbow) will make his third rehab start for Class AAA Omaha Monday, July 6, and manager Ned Yost said Ventura threw a "great" bullpen session Thursday, July 2.

Fantasy Tip: Ventura ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) has electric stuff, but his performance has varied wildly from one start to the next. He is a high-risk, high-reward option at FantasyScore, and when he does return, we don't recommend gambling on him in his first start back.

Royals | Yordano Ventura rehab update

Wed, 24 Jun 2015 19:04:39 -0700

Kansas City Royals SP Yordano Ventura (arm) is expected to make a rehab start for Class AAA Omaha Friday, June 26. He will throw approximately five innings or 75 pitches.

Fantasy Tip: If all goes well, Ventura ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) could be activated from the disabled list to start against the Houston Astros next week. FantasyScore owners should avoid using him in his first start back in order to insure he's completely healthy and able to pitch effectively.
