Astros | Carlos Correa goes off again

Tue, 28 Jun 2016 23:15:45 -0700

Houston Astros SS Carlos Correa celebrated winning the American League Player of the Week last week by going 3-for-4 a three-run home run, a double and an RBI groundout against the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday, June 28.

Fantasy Tip: Over his last eight games, Correa is 11-for-31 with five doubles, four home runs, 14 RBI and has scored eight times. Despite a surprisingly low .265 average that is certain to rise as the summer progresses, he needs to be in lineups every single day because he is capable of this kind of performance on a fairly regular basis.

Houston Astros SS Carlos Correa went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and three RBIs Tuesday, June 21, against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Fantasy Tip: Correa has enjoyed Halos pitching, going 4-for-7 with a double, two homers and six RBIs in the first two games of the series. He has three homers over the past five games. He has struggled a bit with the batting average, but he makes up for it with solid power numbers from the shortstop position.

Fantasy Tip: Correa has struggled with the batting average this season, but he has nine runs scored, two doubles, three triples, two homers and nine RBIs in the month of June. He remains a must-start fantasy option across the board despite his mediocre batting average.

Astros | Carlos Correa hitless in return

Tue, 14 Jun 2016 21:57:42 -0700

Houston Astros SS Carlos Correa (ankle) went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in his return to the lineup Tuesday, June 14, versus the St. Louis Cardinals.

Fantasy Tip: It's not the way anyone wants to return to the batting order, but the good news here is that Correa played for the first time since June 9 and was able to avoid a stint on the disabled list. Despite the off night, odds are he'll get settled in again sooner than later as one of the game's best young shortstops.

Astros | Carlos Correa, Colby Rasmus out Sunday

Sun, 12 Jun 2016 08:15:49 -0700

Houston Astros SS Carlos Correa (ankle) and OF Colby Rasmus are not in the starting lineup against Tampa Bay Rays SP Matt Moore Sunday, June 12. INF Marwin Gonzalez will play shortstop and bat second, while OF Jake Marisnick starts in left field and bats ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Gonzalez is batting .253 with four home runs and 13 RBI in 166 at-bats this year and can be viewed as a productive source of cap relief in DFS. Marisnick is batting just .187 with 28 strikeouts in 91 at-bats and is not a great fantasy option.

Astros | Marwin Gonzalez hitting out of two-hole

Fri, 10 Jun 2016 13:33:27 -0700

Houston Astros INF Marwin Gonzalez is starting at the 6 and is hitting second against Tampa Bay Rays SP Matt Andriese Friday, June 10. SS Carlos Correa (ankle) is starting on the bench.

Fantasy Tip: Gonzalez does have decent power for a middle infielder, but he's hitting only .236 (37-for-157) on the season with four long balls and 13 RBI. He's useful in cavernous mixed and AL-only leagues for his multiposition eligibility, and he could be a fine sleeper play in daily formats this evening hitting atop the order.

Astros | Carlos Correa not starting vs. Rays

Fri, 10 Jun 2016 13:13:37 -0700

Updating a previous report, Houston Astros SS Carlos Correa (ankle) is not in the starting lineup against the Tampa Bay Rays Friday, June 10, because of a sprained left ankle.

Fantasy Tip: Correa is a high-end shortstop with a .256/.351/.423 slash line, eight home runs, 32 RBI and eight stolen bases. Check back for updates on Correa's status over the weekend, but for now, it appears like he won't miss significant time.
