Twins | Byron Buxton optioned to the minors

Mon, 25 Apr 2016 12:22:04 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Byron Buxton was optioned to Class AAA Rochester Monday, April 25.

Fantasy Tip: Buxton has a .156/.208/.289 slash line through 17 games this season with 24 strikeouts over 49 plate appearances. His upside is stash worthy in deep leagues and dynasty/keeper formats, but in the majority of redrafts, you can't roster a non-contributor. Buxton should resurface in Minnesota at some point this season, but in the meantime, he is nothing more than a player to monitor in most leagues.

Twins | Brian Dozier, Byron Buxton out

Fri, 15 Apr 2016 13:57:28 -0700

Minnesota Twins 2B Brian Dozier and OF Byron Buxton (hand) are not in the starting lineup Friday, April 15. SS Eduardo Nunez is at the keystone and leading off, while OF Oswaldo Arcia is starting in left field and hitting fifth against Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SP Garrett Richards. Also, OF Eddie Rosario moves from left field to center field, and he's hitting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Buxton's hand is bruised, so he could return at any point this weekend. He's off to a bad start, though, so you may want to bench him where you own him until he gets things going. Nunez and Arcia are in favorable lineup spots, but until the Twins get going offensively, nobody in their lineup is really attractive in daily games.
