Mets | Travis d'Arnaud activated from DL

Tue, 21 Jun 2016 13:39:47 -0700

New York Mets C Travis d'Arnaud (shoulder) was activated from the 15-day disabled list Tuesday, June 21, and is in the starting lineup against Kansas City Royals SP Ian Kennedy. He will bat eighth in the lineup. The team also optioned C Kevin Plawecki to Class AAA Las Vegas.

Fantasy Tip: D'Arnaud has not played since the last week of April but should receive most of the starts at catcher moving forward. Owners may want to see him play in a game or two before considering him a starting option.

Mets | Three Mets starters sitting out

Sun, 12 Jun 2016 09:42:49 -0700

New York Mets 2B Neil Walker, SS Asdrubal Cabrera and C Rene Rivera are not in the starting lineup against Milwaukee Brewers SP Zach Davies Sunday, June 12. INF Matt Reynolds will start at shortstop and is batting second. 2B Kelly Johnson will start at second base and is batting fourth, while C Kevin Plawecki will start at catcher and is batting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Plawecki and Johnson have posted decent numbers over the last seven days. Johnson should be considered by owners in daily fantasy lineups, while Plawecki can be used in two-catcher leagues. Reynolds is not a strong fantasy option and should be avoided in all leagues.

Mets | Michael Conforto, Neil Walker back in lineup

Sat, 11 Jun 2016 10:07:59 -0700

New York Mets OF Michael Conforto and 2B Neil Walker are back in the starting lineup against Milwaukee Brewers SP Wily Peralta Saturday, June 11. In addition, C Rene Rivera will start behind the plate and bat eighth, with C Kevin Plawecki receiving the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Conforto is 4-for-31 (.129) with 11 strikeouts at the plate this month and is just batting .158 in 114 at-bats since May 1, so he should be avoided this afternoon. Walker is also experiencing a cold streak of his own, with just four hits in 22 at-bats over the past week. Rivera should be viewed as nothing more than an inexpensive flier option in DFS contests.

Mets | Travis d'Arnaud nearing rehab games

Tue, 31 May 2016 10:23:27 -0700

New York Mets C Travis d'Arnaud (shoulder) is nearing his first game action since April 25, and he could start a rehab assignment this weekend. C Kevin Plawecki is likely to go down to Class AAA Las Vegas when d'Arnaud returns from the disabled list, as Plawecki is hitting only .196/.295/.272 in 105 plate appearances. C Rene Rivera has drawn positive reviews and is batting .148/.281/.259.

Fantasy Tip: D'Arnaud's injury history is frustrating and unbecoming to his fantasy owners, but he must remain stashed in all formats because of his offensive upside. D'Arnaud hit .268 with 12 home runs and 41 RBI last year for the Mets.

OF Juan Lagares will start in center field and is batting first in the lineup. SS Wilmer Flores will start at first base and is batting fifth. OF Alejandro De Aza will start in left field and is batting sixth, while C Rene Rivera will start at catcher and is batting seventh.

Mets | David Wright, Kevin Plawecki back in lineup

Sat, 21 May 2016 10:09:48 -0700

New York Mets 3B David Wright and C Kevin Plawecki are back in the starting lineup against Milwaukee Brewers SP Zach Davies Saturday, May 21, batting second and eighth, respectively. In addition, INF Eric Campbell will bat seventh and play first base in place of 1B Lucas Duda, who is receiving the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Wright is likely to play in both afternoon games this weekend after being rested Friday, May 20. Duda has been plagued by back problems recently but it is uncertain if this is the reason he is not in Saturday's lineup. Plawecki and Campbell have combined to hit just .207 with one home run and eight RBI in 111 at-bats this year, so they should be avoided in daily fantasy contests.
