Dodgers | Yasiel Puig available for right price

Mon, 27 Jul 2015 20:16:28 -0700

The Los Angeles Dodgers have let teams know OF Yasiel Puig is available in the right deal, but teams are showing much more interest in their prospects.

Fantasy Tip: The Dodgers are not likely to deal Puig for young players, simply because they're overstocked on prospects and do not need more. Look for Puig to stick around in L.A. for a while.

Dodgers | Yasiel Puig sits

Sat, 25 Jul 2015 14:42:04 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers OF Yasiel Puig is out of the lineup Saturday, July 25, with OF Carl Crawford hitting sixth.

Fantasy Tip: CC ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) has the tall task of facing Matt Harvey and he's not a real good buy on FantasyScore.

Dodgers | Yasiel Puig will not be traded

Sat, 25 Jul 2015 08:19:12 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers OF Yasiel Puig has been told by front office members that he will not be traded before the trade deadline, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Puig ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) should continue to have a regular starting role with the Dodgers since he will not be traded this season. He is hitting only .200 this month but does have three home runs and 12 RBI during that span. Owners on FantasyScore could consider starting Puig, but may want to see if other options are available.

Dodgers | LA won't trade Yasiel Puig for rental

Fri, 24 Jul 2015 18:11:04 -0700

Multiple teams have expressed interest in trading for Los Angeles Dodgers OF Yasiel Puig. However, the team is reluctant to include him in any trade for a rental player.

Fantasy Tip: In other words, don't expect Puig ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) to be included in any potential deal for Cincinnati Reds SP Johnny Cueto or Detroit Tigers SP David Price. Through 50 games entering play Friday, July 24, Puig was batting .259 with five home runs and 20 RBIs.

Dodgers | Yasiel Puig struggling

Sun, 12 Jul 2015 20:43:51 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers OF Yasiel Puig went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in a 4-3 win over the Milwaukee Brewers Sunday, July 12, and he is 0-for-10 with four strikeouts over his last three games.

Fantasy Tip: Puig ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) appeared to break out of his funk with four RBI July 9, but he been hitless since. Until he shows some type of sustained success, he is a high-risk play at FantasyScore, albeit with some upside.

Fantasy Tip: Puig ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) hasn't shown the power or stolen base potential he showcased in his first two seasons, but he has the talent to break out at any time. For now, consider him a boom-or-bust play at FantasyScore.

Dodgers | Yasiel Puig, Joc Pederson flopped

Wed, 08 Jul 2015 16:27:57 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers OFs Yasiel Puig and Joc Pederson flopped lineups spots against Philadelphia Phillies left-handed SP Adam Morgan Wednesday, July 8. Puig is now leading off and Pederson is hitting sixth.

Fantasy Tip: Puig ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) hasn't done much at the plate recently, but a move to leadoff could spark him, especially since he's hit .333 (9-for-27) with a home run against lefties. Pederson ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) loses some daily luster being dropped in the order, and he's hit just .228 (13-for-57) with three of his 20 home runs against left-handers this year. It's a night to consider avoiding Pederson and running with Puig.

Dodgers | Yasiel Puig hitless in return to lineup

Sun, 28 Jun 2015 16:58:16 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers OF Yasiel Puig (hand) returned to the starting lineup and went 0-for-2 with three walks against the Miami Marlins Sunday, June 28.

Fantasy Tip: Injuries have derailed Puig's ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) season, and he hasn't been able to stay on the field long enough to develop much of a rhythm. He offers plenty of upside, but it is best to wait until he strings together a few solid games before paying his hefty salary at FantasyScore.

Dodgers | Yasiel Puig back in the lineup

Sun, 28 Jun 2015 07:43:17 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers OF Yasiel Puig (hand) is in the starting lineup against Miami Marlins SP Jose Urena Sunday, June 28, and is batting fourth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Puig ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) returns to the lineup after not starting any of the last four games with a hand injury. Puig is a risky option on FantasyScore because of the injury but could be a solid option since he is hitting .323 this month.

Dodgers | Yasiel Puig remains sidelined

Sat, 27 Jun 2015 12:23:25 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers OF Yasiel Puig (hand) is not in the lineup against Miami Marlins SP Tom Koehler Saturday, June 27. OF Andre Ethier, who normally plays left field, will bat fifth and play right field. OF Enrique Hernandez will get the start in left field and bat seventh.

Fantasy Tip: It is unknown when Puig ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) will be able to return to action. Following a hot start to the season, Ethier ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is only batting .197 during the month of June and should be avoided in FantasyScore until he turns things around. Hernandez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is batting .256 with three homers and eight RBIs in 86 at-bats and is a viable option for owners who need salary cap relief.
