|Tigers | Bruce Rondon not injured|
Tue, 22 Sep 2015 16:25:12 -0700
Detroit Tigers RP Bruce Rondon said he was not injured after the radar gun showed his velocity was down in the low-to-mid 90s during his outing Monday, Sept. 21. Rondon previously has been clocked in the 97-100 mph range.
Fantasy Tip: It's still unclear if the Tigers have sent Rondon home for the rest of the regular season or just for the short term. Regardless, fantasy owners still looking to make headway in saves should look to pick up Alex Wilson for the time being.

|Tigers | Bruce Rondon sent home|

Fantasy Tip: It's unclear if this is just for tonight's game or for the remainder of the regular season. Stay tuned for more details. If this is a season-ender for Rondon, run to the waiver wire to pick up Alex Wilson, who should be next in line for save chances, if you're chasing saves this late in the year.

|Tigers | Bruce Rondon to close for Detroit|
Fri, 14 Aug 2015 08:53:12 -0700
Detroit Tigers RP Bruce Rondon will close out games in the ninth inning, according to manager Brad Ausmus. "The way Rondon has been pitching, I may end up giving him some more opportunities," Ausmus said. "It doesn't mean he will get all of them. He needs days off too." Rondon will primarily replace RP Alex Wilson (shoulder) in the closer's role after Wilson suffered from shoulder fatigue. Wilson could move into the eighth-inning setup role, but he could also see a save chance occasionally, according to Ausmus. Rondon picked up his second save in two chances Wednesday, Aug. 12, and he has a 5.60 ERA with 26 strikeouts in 17 2/3 innings in 2015.
Fantasy Tip: Rondon is definitely the reliever to own in the Detroit bullpen now if you're still looking for saves. Pick him up immediately if he's still out there in your league. Rondon finally appears to be healthy and has the stuff suited to be successful in the ninth. Wilson could still vulture a save here or there if Rondon needs a break, so you may want to hang onto him in deeper setups.

|Tigers | Detroit bullpen up in the air|
Thu, 13 Aug 2015 14:29:40 -0700
Detroit Tigers RPs Bruce Rondon and Alex Wilson (shoulder) will both receive closing opportunities, according to manager Brad Ausmus. "Well the way Rondon has been pitching, I may end up giving him some more opportunities," Ausmus said. "Doesn't mean all of them. Rondon is obviously going to need days (off) as well, and Wilson would get opportunities then."
Fantasy Tip: Wilson has been the better arm all season, but Rondon has the pedigree. Regardless, for the time being, they both are worth owning in the majority of leagues as low-end sources of saves for those chasing the category. Rondon appears to have the lead currently, though.

|Tigers | Bruce Rondon not ready to close?|
Thu, 30 Jul 2015 16:19:24 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Rondon has a 8.25 ERA through just 12.0 innings this season, but he does have a strikeout rate of 13.50. He's a risky option, but if he is named the closer, Rondon will be worth picking up in 12-team leagues.

|Tigers | Bruce Rondon's return delayed|
Fri, 05 Jun 2015 18:29:34 -0700
Detroit Tigers RP Bruce Rondon (biceps) was expected to return Friday, June 5, but he will make more appearance for Class AAA Toledo Saturday, June 6, before joining the team. Manager Brad Ausmus said the decision to give Rondon one more game isn't a sign of a problem.
Fantasy Tip: Rondon has a fastball that approaches 100 mph, and his strikeout potential makes him a middle reliever worth considering in deeper leagues or in leagues that count holds as a category.

|Tigers | Bruce Rondon to have TJS, miss entire year|
Fri, 21 Mar 2014 09:57:21 -0700
Detroit Tigers RP Bruce Rondon (elbow) will need Tommy John surgery on his right elbow and will miss the entire 2014 season, according to general manager Dave Dombrowski. Rondon was a candidate to be the team's eighth-inning setup man this season. The Tigers have other candidates to fill Rondon's spot, like RPs Joba Chamberlain, Al Alburquerque, Ian Krol, Evan Reed, Luke Putkonen and Phil Coke, but the team isn't locked in to any one guy.
