Brewers | Hiram Burgos back in rotation

Fri, 10 May 2013 13:53:50 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers SP Hiram Burgos has been put back into the starting rotation, and he'll start against the Cincinnati Reds Saturday, May 11. Burgos had skipped his turn to allow other starters to remain on schedule with two days off this week. SP Marco Estrada has been moved back two days to face the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Fantasy Tip: Burgos is a commodity for NL-only leagues. He doesn't have dominant stuff but possesses a diverse arsenal and stays around the plate. His matchup with Cincy isn't intriguing at all in his return to the rotation.

Brewers | Hiram Burgos may make another start

Mon, 22 Apr 2013 11:06:46 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers manager Ron Roenicke is unsure if SP Hiram Burgos will start against the Los Angeles Dodgers Friday, April 26, because the team has an off day Thursday, April 25. Burgos gave up one hit in five innings in his major league debut versus the Chicago Cubs Saturday, April 20.

Fantasy Tip: Burgos can be left on the wire in all leagues for now, unless he makes another start Friday and impresses again and wins the No. 5 starting rotation spot.

Brewers | Hiram Burgos recalled

Thu, 18 Apr 2013 14:11:16 -0700

The Milwaukee Brewers recalled SP Hiram Burgos from Triple-A Nashville Thursday, April 18, and he'll start against the Chicago Cubs Saturday, April 20.

Fantasy Tip: Burgos is strictly an NL-only target for starting pitching-hungry owners. He tops out in the low 90s, which is never intriguing for right-handers, but has plenty of offerings to keep hitters off balance, and he spots the ball well.

Brewers | Two might start at Triple-A

Sun, 30 Dec 2012 22:53:02 -0800

Milwaukee Brewers Ps Tyler Thornburg and Hiram Burgos might be pushed a big faster than originally anticipated with the team falling short on free-agent pitching help, and the team apparently unwilling to overpay for the remaining free agents. In a perfect world, they would go to Triple-A Nashville to start the season, but they could be in the mix for the big league club as well.
