Brewers | Khris Davis to return next week

Mon, 29 Jun 2015 15:39:13 -0700

Updating a previous report, Milwaukee Brewers 3B Khris Davis (knee) is expected to be on a rehab assignment for five days, which would allow him to return against the Atlanta Braves Monday, July 6.

Fantasy Tip: Davis' ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) return will spell trouble for Gerardo Parra ($3,800, 7.6% of cap), who could fall into a platoon in left field with the returning Davis. Parra is the one to own for now in deep mixed and NL-only leagues, but keep an eye on Davis if he bounces back after struggling earlier this year.

Brewers | Khris Davis starting rehab assignment

Mon, 29 Jun 2015 14:12:02 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Khris Davis (knee) will start his rehab assignment with Class A Wisconsin Wednesday, July 1.

Fantasy Tip: Davis ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) could be back with the team as early as this weekend if everything goes according to plan. However, he was hitting just .250 (37-for-148) with five home runs and 16 RBI before his injury, and he could share playing time with Gerardo Parra ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) in left field when he returns. Davis should be left to the waiver wire in shallow mixed leagues, but keep him on your radar if he turns things around.

Brewers | Khris Davis takes batting practice

Wed, 24 Jun 2015 15:14:32 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Khris Davis (knee) took batting practice Wednesday, June 24, and he continues to move closer to beginning a rehab assignment.

Fantasy Tip: It wouldn't be out of the question for Davis ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) to remain out until after the All-Star break, and seasonal owners should consider any contributions before that a bonus. He projects to see at least semi-regular playing time once he returns, with Gerardo Parra ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) likely losing his everyday role. Continue to check back for updates.

Brewers | Khris Davis on the mend

Sat, 20 Jun 2015 16:35:05 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Khris Davis (knee) will begin swinging a bat in the next couple of days. Manager Craig Counsell said that's the last step in Davis' recovery from a torn meniscus.

Fantasy Tip: Davis should figure into the lineup at least semi-regularly when he returns, especially with Carlos Gomez ailing. He'll be a low-end option on FantasyScore.

Brewers | Khris Davis out 4-6 weeks

Tue, 02 Jun 2015 14:48:58 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Khris Davis (knee) underwent a debridement of the right meniscus in his knee Tuesday, June 2, and his expected recovery time will be four to six weeks.

Fantasy Tip: With Davis out for an extended timetable, Gerardo Parra ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) reaps the benefits of everyday playing time in left field. You can consider Parra a notable sleeper candidate mainly when facing right-handed pitchers, but he doesn't possess much power and rarely runs.

Brewers | Khris Davis placed on DL

Sun, 31 May 2015 10:03:33 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Khris Davis (knee) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Sunday, May 31, because of a torn meniscus in his right knee.

Fantasy Tip: Davis ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) likely will miss several weeks because of the injury. Gerardo Parra ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) likely will see most of the playing time in the outfield while Davis is out and could be a cheaper option on FantasyScore against certain opponents.

Brewers | Khris Davis set for surgery

Sun, 31 May 2015 06:40:46 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Khris Davis (knee) will undergo surgery Tuesday, June 2, to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee.

Fantasy Tip: Gerardo Parra ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) projects to receive the majority of starts in left field with Davis ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) out. Make sure to check back for an official announcement on Davis' return timetable before dropping him outright, as he is worth stashing in an IR slot. Parra has some upside, and he can chip in across every fantasy category. Still, he is a deep mixed league option, at best. His current FantasyScore salary has a lot of profit room in it, though.

Brewers | Khris Davis exits Saturday

Sat, 30 May 2015 14:47:22 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Khris Davis (knee) left the game Saturday, May 30, with left knee soreness.

Fantasy Tip: Davis has been on a roll with a .467-2-2 line the last week, but Gerardo Parra figures to receive the time if Davis is out. Parra ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) is a weak matchup play on FantasyScore.

Brewers | Khris Davis not starting Friday

Fri, 29 May 2015 11:46:11 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Khris Davis is not in the starting lineup Friday, May 29, against the Arizona Diamondbacks. OF Gerardo Parra is in left field.

Fantasy Tip: It looks like a normal night off for Davis ($3,500, 7.0% of cap), so keep him out of your lineup. Parra ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) has no fantasy value, as he is hitting .176 in the last week.

Brewers | Khris Davis belts a pair

Mon, 25 May 2015 19:45:16 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Khris Davis went 3-for-3 with two solo home runs, three runs scored and a walk in an 8-4 loss to the San Francisco Giants Monday, May 25.

Fantasy Tip: Davis ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) has flashed some power upside in the past, but he is nothing more than a roll-of-the-dice play at FantasyScore.
