The Miami Marlins have placed SP Kevin Slowey (forearm) on the 15-day disabled list because of tightness in his right forearm. In a corresponding move, P Steven Ames has been called up from Triple-A New Orleans.

Updating previous reports, the Los Angeles Dodgers have acquired SP Ricky Nolasco and $197,000 in international bonus pool money from the Miami Marlins, in exchange for minor league Ps Steven Ames, Angel Sanchez and Josh Wall.

Fantasy Tip: What once looked like a strength for the Dodgers in spring training - starting pitching - quickly turned into a weakness as the regular season came around, as injuries started to mount. Nolasco should benefit from a change of scenery and better run support than he received in Miami.
