Cowboys | Dallas not looking at Mike Glennon

Wed, 03 Aug 2016 10:35:49 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Mike Glennon has not received trade interest from the Dallas Cowboys at this point, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: The Buccaneers probably would want a solid return if they were to trade Glennon, so he likely will remain the backup to Jameis Winston. He will not have any fantasy value unless he is starting.

Buccaneers | 50-50 chance for Mike Glennon trade?

Sat, 09 Apr 2016 10:50:33 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Mike Glennon has a 50-50 chance of being traded before the NFL Draft, according to Mark Cook of Pewter Report. Cook noted the Cleveland Browns and New York Jets as the two most likely landing spots for Glennon if he were to be traded. Cook also speculated that general manager Jason Licht could pull the trigger on a trade if a second-round pick or a low-end second round pick and a fourth-round pick is offered.

Fantasy Tip: Glennon would almost certainly be the backup in Cleveland, and could start in New York if Fitzpatrick is not re-signed. For now, he's on the outside looking in as far as fantasy relevance is concerned.

Jets | Mike Glennon of interest to New York

Tue, 29 Mar 2016 16:33:26 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Mike Glennon has drawn interest from the New York Jets, who have inquired about Tampa Bay's backup quarterback.

Fantasy Tip: The extent and context of the Jets and Bucs talks is unclear, but New York is one of a couple teams left with a question mark at quarterback right now. It's unlikely that they would trade Muhammad Wilkerson for Glennon, but we'll see what happens as the draft inches closer. As stated earlier, though, Glennon is not a starting fantasy quarterback.

Buccaneers | Mike Glennon could be extended

Tue, 29 Mar 2016 16:26:13 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Mike Glennon has been the subject of trade talks in recent weeks, but he could also receive an extension from the Buccaneers if a trade does not work out. Tampa Bay has already discussed a two-year extension for Glennon that would likely be worth at least $6 million per year.

Fantasy Tip: The Buccaneers are playing the waiting game with Glennon. If he is to be traded, it may not be until the weekend of the NFL Draft. There are a select few teams that Glennon could start on, like the Denver Broncos and New York Jets, for example. He still won't be worth starting on fantasy squads, though, no matter where he plays.

Broncos | Denver not rushing QB decision

Wed, 23 Mar 2016 10:03:45 -0700

Denver Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak said the Broncos are not in a rush to add another quarterback this offseason. Kubiak said QB Mark Sanchez will learn the team's offense quickly because of his familiarity with the verbiage during his days in college, and Sanchez has been at the team facility offseason since he signed. Free-agent QBs Robert Griffin III (Redskins) and Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) are options, as well as trading for San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick, Houston Texans QB Brian Hoyer or Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Mike Glennon.

Fantasy Tip: Denver will likely bring in another QB either through the draft, in free agency or via trade to compete with Sanchez for the starting role. At this point, whoever is under center in Week 1 for the Broncos will surely be more of a fantasy backup.

Buccaneers | Mike Glennon a trade target

Mon, 21 Mar 2016 12:16:51 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Mike Glennon has drawn interest from several teams, according to general manager Jason Licht. Licht said trade discussions could continue until the NFL Draft. Licht also refuted a claim that the Buccaneers were demanding a No. 1 draft pick in exchange for Glennon. The New York Jets are just one team that has inquired about Glennon.

Fantasy Tip: Desperate times call for desperate measures, apparently, as Glennon has done little in his young NFL career to prove he deserves starting status. If he is traded and does start, he's still comfortably in backup fantasy quarterback territory.

Broncos | Mike Glennon a trade target for Denver?

Wed, 09 Mar 2016 15:48:17 -0800

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Mike Glennon is being mentioned as a possible trade target for the Denver Broncos after they lost free-agent QB Brock Osweiler to the Houston Texans on Wednesday, March 9.

Fantasy Tip: Osweiler's departure means the Broncos will be linked with just about every available free-agent quarterback or any signal-caller who has supposedly been on the trade block recently. Glennon would be a serviceable fallback option if the Broncos chose to go in that direction, but Colin Kaepernick and Robert Griffin III are better fits in head coach Gary Kubiak's offense. Regardless of which one winds up in Denver, none of them figure to be anything more than a QB2 for fantasy purposes.

Buccaneers | Mike Evans feels he was held back

Mon, 29 Jun 2015 19:00:33 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans is expected to play more on an island in 2015 as the "X" receiver in Tampa Bay's new offense, which is the same role offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter created for Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones during Koetter's time with that organization. He said Monday, June 29, that the QB carousell of Josh McCown and Mike Glennon last year held him back, too, so he is excited about a potential breakout with QB Jameis Winston.

Fantasy Tip: Evans posted huge numbers last season, finishing with over 1,000 yards while scoring 12 touchdowns. If he can improve on those numbers he will be a Top 5 fantasy option at his position. Look for him to fly off the board rather early on draft day.
