San Diego Chargers WR Keenan Allen has shown more speed during training camp, which should help him get past defenders faster, according to CB Shareece Wright. "It just makes him a more powerful threat when he's that good at the line and has speed behind it," Wright said. "A lot of times, he will win at the line, but when you've got recovery speed, you can make up for that. Now that he's faster, it's not going to be as easy to make up once you lose at the line. He's going to be open on more of his routes."
Fantasy Tip: Allen is coming off a terrific 2013 season and should be one of the top targets in the passing game again. He should be considered a No. 2 or No. 3 wide receiver in all fantasy leagues this season.

San Diego Chargers WR Keenan Allen believes he is faster than last year and fully healthy after knee issues which made him sluggish in the offseason and starting off the year. Allen said his primary focus has been improving his speed.
Fantasy Tip: If Allen can add more speed to his already crisp route-running, he’s definitely capable of duplicating his 2013 numbers. Allen should be considered a fringe WR1 in standard leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Allen has been superb lately, finding the end zone four times over his past two games. He also has five 100-yard games over his past 10 outings. Consider him a solid WR2/3 or flex play against an Oakland Raiders pass defense which has been bludgeoned for 254.4 passing yards per game with 28 touchdown passes allowed.

Fantasy Tip: Allen struggled during the early going, but really started to get going in Week 5. He has three or more catches and 67 or more yards in each of his past four games, including two performances with at least 100 yards. He has emerged as a solid WR2/3 or flex fantasy option in most leagues.

San Diego Chargers WR Eddie Royal (toe) did not practice Thursday, Oct. 17, and is in a protective boot after being injured in the team's Week 6 game Monday, Oct. 14.
Fantasy Tip: The Bolts have an excellent matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars this weekend, but it looks as though you won't be able to utilize Royal. He's been fading since Weeks 2 and 3, too, in favor of rookie wideout Keenan Allen. Allen is turning into a must-start in deep enough point-per-reception leagues.
Tue, 15 Oct 2013 09:48:03 -0700
San Diego Chargers WR Keenan Allen topped 100 yards receiving for the second straight week and also added a touchdown in the win over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 6 Monday, Oct. 14.
Fantasy Tip: Allen is for real, so it seems. He was Rivers' favorite target against the Colts and it appears to have replaced Eddie Royal as the go-to receiver with Malcom Floyd (neck) out for the season. Allen should be owned in most leagues now, and his value peaks in point-per-reception formats.
Tue, 01 Oct 2013 15:09:56 -0700
The San Diego Chargers placed WR Malcom Floyd (neck) on the season-ending Injured Reserve Tuesday, Oct. 1.
Fantasy Tip: Tough break for Floyd. If you were stashing him, you can now safely drop him. This should mean more work for rookie Keenan Allen, who showed in Week 4 that he is a legitimate deep threat for Philip Rivers. Allen isn't a bad gamble in deeper leagues.
Fri, 20 Sep 2013 16:53:25 -0700
San Diego Chargers rookie WR Keenan Allen is prepared to start in place of WR Malcom Floyd (neck) in Week 3 against the Tennessee Titans after seeing his first NFL action in Week 2 versus the Philadelphia Eagles after Floyd went down to injury. Allen produced some key third down plays for the Chargers while at split end last Sunday and was able to beat press coverage at the line.
Fantasy Tip: If Allen continues to be productive like he was in limited second-half action last week, Philip Rivers may be inclined to look his way often. Rest assured, Allen will have his share of learning experiences, but he could become a waiver wire target soon if the San Diego passing game keeps clicking.
Sun, 15 Sep 2013 11:59:23 -0700
San Diego Chargers WR Malcom Floyd (neck) was carted off the field on a stretcher due to a neck injury Sunday, Sept. 15.
Fantasy Tip: Keenan Allen replaced him on the field, but it'll be tough to replace him in your fantasy lineup. He was sandwiched between two defenders in a violent collision. It's too early to assume, but begin the thought process that he may be gone for an extended period.

Woodhead may join the offense in third-down situations, and WR Keenan Allen should mostly work out of the slot.

Updating a previous report, San Diego Chargers WR Keenan Allen (knee) left practice to get treatment on a posterior cruciate ligament injury that Allen suffered in 2012, according to head coach Mike McCoy. McCoy said the team wants to stay on top of the issue.
Fantasy Tip: It sounds like the team is just being cautious with Allen, but it is still something to keep an eye on, especially after Allen got more reps with the starters earlier in the week.

San Diego Chargers WR Malcom Floyd (knee) was carted off the field after suffering an apparent right knee injury during practice Monday, Aug. 12. Floyd was receiving treatment on his knee for a few minutes before being carted off.
Fantasy Tip: Owners should monitor the situation because more information should be coming out over the next day or so. If the injury is serious, the fantasy values of Vincent Brown, Keenan Allen, Robert Meachem and Eddie Royal could all increase because they could get bigger roles on offense.
Wed, 07 Aug 2013 14:07:07 -0700

Mon, 05 Aug 2013 16:35:16 -0700
San Diego Chargers WR Keenan Allen is adapting to life in the NFL. "I feel like I'm doing pretty well, but I'm working to get better," he said after he was the last person to leave the field after practice. "I still have a lot I can do better on, a lot of fundamentals and technique things. There are little details I need to pick up on. I mean, it may look good from the sidelines, but in the film room, the truth comes out."
Mon, 05 Aug 2013 16:22:07 -0700
San Diego Chargers WR Keenan Allen (knee) said his leg feels fine after suffering a knee injury in 2012. "My leg feels fine," Allen said. "I'm not having any problems with it. It seems to be doing what I'm asking of it, and that's all I can really ask for."
Tue, 25 Jun 2013 08:57:07 -0700
San Diego Chargers WR Keenan Allen worked with the first-team offense on the final day of the team's minicamp WRs Danario Alexander and Eddie Royal dinged up with undisclosed injuries. Allen said he's comfortable with the playbook and the offense's terminology. "He's done a nice job buying into what we're doing," head coach Mike McCoy said. "It's a change for him. We're moving guys around, and the skill-position guys really need to know every position because you never know when Philip is going to check at the line of scrimmage. You have an idea where you're playing, but when it comes to a formation, Philip can audible something whenever he wants. ... You've got to know every position."
Fantasy Tip: It'll be tough for Allen to earn a starting role at a position that's probably the deepest on San Diego's depth chart. Alexander, Malcom Floyd and Vincent Brown figure to rotate often, and the Chargers also have Royal and Robert Meachem. Barring an injury or unforeseen change, it's probably best to leave Allen for the waiver wire in redraft leagues.
Tue, 25 Jun 2013 06:07:41 -0700
San Diego Chargers WR Keenan Allen is aiming to win a starting spot in camp.
Thu, 13 Jun 2013 15:31:27 -0700
San Diego Chargers WR Robert Meachem is still buried on the depth chart, but this new offense gives him a shot to produce more than he did last year.
Fantasy Tip: That won't take much, if he's given the chance in Ken Whisenhunt's O. Problem is, there are a ton of options at wideout, and it's a very open competition for targets. Danario Alexander and Malcom Floyd are the two best bets for receptions, and Eddie Royal, Vincent Brown, rookie Keenan Allen and Richard Goodman will complicate matters for the secondary options.
Wed, 12 Jun 2013 05:31:49 -0700
