Sun, 12 Oct 2014 12:21:34 -0700

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (hamstring) is active for the team's Week 6 game.

Fantasy Tip: Reed probably will receive the start at tight end but is a risky play this week because of his hamstring injury. Reed could be a nice value at $3,700 on FantasyScore this week if he is able to play the entire game.

Redskins | Jordan Reed optimistic about playing

Thu, 09 Oct 2014 15:04:28 -0700

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (hamstring) has missed the past four games with a strained hamstring, but he is expressing optimism about returning in Week 6 against the Arizona Cardinals if he doesn't suffer any setbacks. "Yeah, definitely. Shooting for Sunday," Reed said. "Yeah, honestly. I feel like if I get everything done this week and everything goes smoothly, I can be out there on Sunday." Reed noticed a significant improvement with his hamstring in practice Wednesday, Oct. 8. There remains some tightness, but he's close to full strength.

Fantasy Tip: Unfortunately for fantasy owners, Reed's game this weekend is an afternoon tilt, making him an extremely risky option for your lineups. You're better off passing on Reed for another week.

Thu, 09 Oct 2014 14:59:37 -0700

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (hamstring) was limited in practice for the second straight day Thursday, Oct. 9.

Fantasy Tip: Reed will probably be questionable against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 6. If he plays, however, he would be a nice option at FantasyScore for just $3,700 (7.4% of cap). The Cardinals have been generous to tight ends this season.

Mon, 06 Oct 2014 16:08:56 -0700

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (hamstring) is inactive in Week 5 against the Seattle Seahawks Monday, Oct. 6. TE Niles Paul (concussion) is active and will replace Reed.

Fantasy Tip: Both Reed and Paul were sketchy options for your daily lineups this weekend. Paul is unlikely to make much of an impact against the Seahawks, either.

Tue, 30 Sep 2014 10:03:50 -0700

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (hamstring) did individual drills in practice Tuesday, Sept. 30. Reed has missed the last two weeks.

Fantasy Tip: Reed could return this week to face the Seattle Seahawks, but he'll likely be questionable, at best. The matchup shouldn't excite daily fantasy players, either.

Updating a previous report, Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (hamstring) is not sure when he will play again. His status is not known for the team's Week 5 game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Mon, 22 Sep 2014 15:36:34 -0700

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (hamstring) did not participate in practice Monday, Sept. 22. The team participated in a jog-though Monday.

Fantasy Tip: Reed is not off to a good start in terms of his status for Week 4 by sitting out practice. Since it is a short week, Reed could miss another game so he can get some extended rest for his hamstring. Niles Paul would continue to be pass catching tight end if Reed does not play and could be a good lower-priced option for owners on FantasyScore.

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (hamstring) has been ruled out of Week 3 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (hamstring) did not practice in practice Thursday, Sept. 18.

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Fantasy Tip: Niles Paul, who had four catches on four targets for 86 yards in the opener, could be a nice sleeper option at tight end at FantasyScore for just $3,800 (7.6% of cap). More looks for DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon should be expected, as well.

Redskins | Jordan Reed likely sitting Week 2

Wed, 10 Sep 2014 09:45:42 -0700

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (hamstring) is not expected to play in Week 2, according to head coach Jay Gruden. "He's a long shot, I would say," Gruden said.

Fantasy Tip: Reed is worth hanging on to in most leagues. Try to work around him to find a replacement, but don't look for one on Washington's roster. Niles Paul, even at a cheap $3,800 in FantasyScore, isn't worth it yet.

Redskins | Niles Paul to have expanded duties

Tue, 09 Sep 2014 14:10:47 -0700

Washington Redskins TE Niles Paul is set to continue as the starting tight end with TE Jordan Reed (hamstring) likely to miss some time. Head coach Jay Gruden said Reed will require an MRI exam to see if he can play in Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Paul led the team with 86 receiving yards on four catches in Week 1 against the Houston Texans, but he also fumbled. He had four catches for 51 yards last season.

Fantasy Tip: The tight end is in a spot to be much more productive in Washington's new offensive system. Paul and the 'Skins face a Jacksonville Jaguars defense that was exploited by the tight end position in Week 1, making Paul's salary in FantasyScore of $3,800 (7.6% of cap) tempting if you're looking to save money at the position.

Redskins | Jordan Reed out a while

Mon, 08 Sep 2014 12:54:02 -0700

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (hamstring) will miss "some time," according to head coach Jay Gruden.

Fantasy Tip: Reed's injury history continues. Logan Paulsen and Niles Paul will play in his stead, but aren't yet worth a roster spot or FantasyScore investment.

Redskins | Jordan Reed could miss time

Sun, 07 Sep 2014 17:50:27 -0700

Updating a previous report, Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (hamstring) will undergo an MRI on his left hamstring after leaving the Week 1 game against the Houston Texans. He might be sidelined at least two weeks. "It's pretty frustrating," Reed said Sunday, Sept. 7.

Fantasy Tip: Reed has the potential to be a big-time performer for FantasyScore owners, but he has had difficulty staying healthy early in his career. With Reed likely to sit for a game or two, Logan Paulsen could be a nice low-end salary option.

Sun, 07 Sep 2014 11:54:07 -0700

Sun, 07 Sep 2014 08:58:24 -0700

Fri, 05 Sep 2014 11:49:22 -0700

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (thumb) practiced in full Friday, Sept. 5, but is questionable for Week 1 against the Houston Texans.

Fantasy Tip: We expect Reed to play in the season opener, but he probably won't be 100 percent healthy. Will his sprained thumb cause him problems in catching the pigskin? At a FantasyScore price of $5,400 (10.8% of cap), you may not want to risk finding out.

Thu, 04 Sep 2014 15:32:51 -0700

Mon, 25 Aug 2014 12:05:33 -0700

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (thumb) is dealing with a sprained thumb but should be ready to play Week 1, according to head coach Jay Gruden.

Fantasy Tip: Reed could be limited during practice the next few weeks, but it appears he will be fine for the start of the regular season. He should be considered a low-end starting tight end in most leagues.

Redskins | Andre Roberts might benefit from many weapons

Thu, 17 Jul 2014 19:46:37 -0700

Washington Redskins WR Andre Roberts has admitted since the signing of WR DeSean Jackson that he might have opted to go elsewhere had he known Jackson would be signed. However, Roberts might be one of the biggest beneficiaries of having WRs Pierre Garcon and Jackson, as well as TE Jordan Reed, in the offense.

Fantasy Tip: Roberts might be undrafted in most fantasy formats, but he could be an early-season waiver wire gem if he gets off to a good start and the Washington offense clicks out of the gate.

Redskins | Robert Griffin III praises Alfred Morris

Thu, 10 Jul 2014 11:07:41 -0700

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III thinks RB Alfred Morris is the biggest weapon on the team's offense. "I think everyone would lean towards DeSean or Pierre or Jordan Reed," Griffin III said when asked who the biggest weapon in the Redskins' offense is. "I think it's Alfred. With him, defenses have to make a decision whether to puts guys in the box to stop him or leave the box light and allow Alfred to go between the tackles and lure in the safeties. I think it will be interesting to see what defenses do against him."

Fantasy Tip: There is every reason to believe that Morris will benefit from the addition of DeSean Jackson to the offense and a healthy Robert Griffin III. Morris should return to top form in 2014.

"He's going be a key player in our offense," McVay told the media during minicamp. "He's an elite route runner for the position, and he still competes with the toughness. He's got great feet, so he can cover guys up in the run game."

Redskins | Jordan Reed could go deep more frequently

Tue, 10 Jun 2014 14:24:52 -0700

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed could see more deep passes thrown his way in 2014. New head coach Jay Gruden's offense sent TEs Tyler Eifert and Jermaine Gresham downfield often last season for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Fantasy Tip: Reed's concussion issues should temper any optimism here; he's a borderline top-10 fantasy TE heading into the year with a better chance of meeting that status in PPR leagues.
