Miami Dolphins RB Jonas Gray has been promoted from the practice squad to the active 53-man roster, according to a team source. Gray will be behind RBs Lamar Miller, Damien Williams and LaMichael James on the depth chart. QB Logan Thomas was released in a corresponding move.
Fantasy Tip: The move doesn't guarantee that Gray ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) will be active in Week 1 against the Washington Redskins. Even if he is, he's unlikely to see many touches at all unless an injury occurs. Avoid him on FantasyScore.

Arizona Cardinals QB Logan Thomas and Phillip Sims are expected to see playing time in the third preseason game Sunday, Aug. 30, and the competition for the No. 3 quarterback job will continue during the final preseason game. Arizona Cardinals QB Logan Thomas could be cut as it appears head coach Bruce Arians has seen enough, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Josh Weinfuss. During minicamp, Thomas' place in the quarterback rotation kept fluctuating. Thomas barely played in the final OTA - although Arians said it was because he practiced a lot the day before.

Arizona Cardinals QB Logan Thomas isn't a sure bet for the No. 3 quarterback job in Arizona anymore. Head coach Bruce Arians said the job is wide open, with QBs Chandler Harnish and Phillip Sims also competing. Carson Palmer and Drew Stanton are the No. 1 and No. 2 quarterbacks, respectively.

Arizona Cardinals QB Logan Thomas will receive a lot of reps during offseason workouts, according to head coach Bruce Arians. "He's going to get a ton of work and those reps are invaluable," Arians said. "Just in decision-making, how fast you're getting it out of your hand, where you're going with it, where you're going when 'one' and 'two' are still covered. Are you still scrambling around or are you going to find your outlets? That growth process comes strictly from reps."

Arizona Cardinals QB Logan Thomas didn't start at the end of last season because head coach Bruce Arians didn't want to hurt his long-term development. "We drafted him for two years from now, not November," Arians said, via the team's official website. "It just so happened his number got called (earlier.) I was not going to let him fail because once you fail those scars never go away."
