Sun, 17 Nov 2013 19:52:00 -0800
Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams is expected to see a dent in playing time and targets with WR Miles Austin (hamstring) expected back in Week 12. Still, the team has been happy with Williams' maturation. "He's got a real high level of maturity from a work ethic standpoint," receivers coach Derek Dooley said Sunday, Nov. 17. "From an off the field standpoint. From a team standpoint. I think that's one of the things that's contributed to his ability to really have so much success early. He's really made the adjustment from being a college guy to a pro as well as anybody."
Fantasy Tip: It's hard to imagine the team taking targets away from Williams, who has really blossomed during Austin's absence. Plus, Austin isn't exactly the picture of health, and it might just be a matter of time before he is sidelined again. Williams should be treated as a WR4 or flex fantasy option heading into Week 12.
Tue, 05 Nov 2013 06:45:44 -0800
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said WR Miles Austin (hamstring) and CB Morris Claiborne (hamstring) are improving but are doubtful for Week 10.
Fantasy Tip: At this point, Austin is causing your team more pain than anything. Especially in shallow leagues, it's probably that time to get rid of him and avoid him clogging your roster any longer. Terrance Williams has risen to the forefront alongside Dez Bryant.
Sun, 03 Nov 2013 08:42:23 -0800
Dallas Cowboys WR Miles Austin (hamstring) has been declared inactive for Week 9.
Fantasy Tip: Terrance Williams will continue to start in Austin's place and should be in all fantasy lineups.
Fri, 01 Nov 2013 10:40:45 -0700
Dallas Cowboys WR Miles Austin (hamstring) will likely miss his second straight game in Week 9 against the Minnesota Vikings. He hasn't practiced at all this week after being limited the previous two weeks. "He can play without getting a whole lot of reps but he has certainly been dialed back this week," head coach Jason Garrett said. "We'll see how he does today."
Fantasy Tip: Leave Austin on your bench. If you are struggling to find room on your roster for an addition, it's getting to the point where cutting him should be a real option. Terrance Williams has emerged as a trustworthy receiver opposite of Dez Bryant.
Wed, 30 Oct 2013 10:14:28 -0700
Dallas Cowboys WR Miles Austin (hamstring) and DE DeMarcus Ware (thigh) are not participating in practice Wednesday, Oct. 30.
Fantasy Tip: Both Austin and Ware did some work on the side in practice. it looks like it'll be a battle for both players to get back into game action this week, so they are very risky options to consider for your starting lineups. Terrance Williams continues to be a very strong flex play as long as Austin is banged up.
Sun, 27 Oct 2013 08:31:18 -0700
Dallas Cowboys WR Miles Austin (hamstring) has been declared inactive for the team's Week 8 game.
Fantasy Tip: Terrance Williams will get another start and should be in the starting lineup for all owners.
Fri, 25 Oct 2013 13:14:39 -0700
Dallas Cowboys WR Miles Austin (hamstring) was limited in practice Friday, Oct. 25, and is listed as questionable for Week 8 against the Detroit Lions. Head coach Jason Garrett mentioned possibly resting Austin so that he could be healthy for the second half of the season.
Fantasy Tip: Relying on Austin is a very risky proposition. To be safe, it would be wise to avoid him like the plague. Even if he plays, there is a good chance he'll have his snaps limited. Terrance Williams and Cole Beasley will pick up the slack and are nice sleeper options.
Thu, 24 Oct 2013 14:19:55 -0700
Dallas Cowboys WR Miles Austin (hamstring) limited in practice again Thursday, Oct. 24.
Fantasy Tip: Austin will likely be questionable for Week 8, and he remains a very risky play. Bump up Terrance Williams and Cole Beasley in your weekly rankings against the Detroit Lions. They both make for intriguing flex options.
Tue, 15 Oct 2013 11:41:18 -0700
Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett said WR Miles Austin (hamstring) was just "OK" in his return to action in Week 6 against the Washington Redskins. "He's clearly working his way back into it. I don't think he looked as explosive as he did early on in the year. He's clearly trying to get his hamstring healthy. He came through the game, looked like he was able to function, everything we asked him to do. But he's a work in progress coming back," Garrett said. Austin was targeted four times in the game and went without a catch, but he barely missed a touchdown on a pass that was deflected by a defender.
Fantasy Tip: The Philadelphia Eagles in Week 7 present another decent opportunity for Austin to get back on track after missing two games with the hamstring ailment. However, you have to wonder how healthy he is, and with Terrance Williams able to provide Tony Romo with another outlet, Austin shouldn't inspire much confidence in his owners just yet.
Fri, 11 Oct 2013 11:34:29 -0700
Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys WR Miles Austin (hamstring) will return to action in Week 6 against the Washington Redskins. "I'm playing in the game," Austin said. "I feel fine." WR Terrance Williams caught 11 passes for 222 yards and a touchdown during Austin's two-game absence, and WR Cole Beasley caught seven passes for 63 yards and a score. The Cowboys don't anticipate limiting Austin in the game if he's good to go. "I'm not in control of the reps," Austin said. "I'm going to go out and go every time I get the chance."
Fantasy Tip: We wouldn't be shocked if the Cowboys play it safe and limit his snaps to avoid a setback. Williams has been impressive in Austin's absence, and he should still be a decent flex play against the Redskins. If you have other strong options at wideout, sitting Austin is a safe play.
Wed, 09 Oct 2013 14:58:13 -0700
Dallas Cowboys WR Miles Austin (hamstring) practiced in full Wednesday, Oct. 9.
Fantasy Tip: Full practice is a nice surprise for Austin owners cursing him for his absence the last two weeks. His hammies are fragile, though, so any little setback during the week could leave him out for a third straight week. If he's back on the field this weekend against the Washington Redskins, though, he should be in your lineup. Terrance Williams' short-term value will take a hit if Austin returns.
Fri, 04 Oct 2013 12:05:43 -0700
Dallas Cowboys WR Miles Austin (hamstring) is listed as doubtful for Week 5. He was able to do some light running during the early stages of practice Friday, Oct. 4, and will try to work out before the game.
Fantasy Tip: It appears Austin will sit out another game because of his hamstring injury, but owners will have to monitor the inactive list in case he does play. If he does not play, Terrance Williams and Dwayne Harris likely will see a bump in fantasy value. Williams could be a flex option in deeper leagues.
Wed, 02 Oct 2013 09:41:04 -0700
Dallas Cowboys WR Miles Austin (hamstring) is not participating in practice Wednesday, Oct. 2.
Fantasy Tip: It would not be a huge surprise to see Austin miss a second straight week with his hamstring injury. If he plays, he could be very limited, making him a very risky start. Terrance Williams deserves some love off the waiver wire in deeper leagues.
Mon, 30 Sep 2013 20:22:31 -0700
Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams fumbled in the fourth quarter near the goal line in Week 4 against the San Diego Chargers. Head coach Jason Garrett called it an "effort play," and said the rookie has to learn from the experience. "He catches it short of the goal line, and he wants to get in, and he extends the ball, and one of the things he's going to learn as a young player is when you're in those situations, guys are fantastic at getting the ball out - it's a physical game, and they're going to knock the ball out," Garrett said. "So he'll learn from that experience."
Fri, 27 Sep 2013 13:27:36 -0700
Dallas Cowboys WR Dwayne Harris (hip) said he will play in Week 4 against the San Diego Chargers despite being listed as questionable. "Monday I couldn't even move," Harris said. "It feels so much better. I'm not worried about it. I played the whole game Sunday with the same thing." WR Terrance Williams will get the bulk of the work with WR Miles Austin (hamstring) not playing. Williams has five catches for 60 yards in three games.
Fantasy Tip: Harris will likely be limited, so Williams might be the better sleeper option in a flex spot in deeper leagues. The Chargers secondary has been very generous to opposing wideouts early this season.
Fri, 27 Sep 2013 12:41:13 -0700
Dallas Cowboys WR Miles Austin (hamstring) did not participated in practice Friday, Sept. 27, and has been ruled out for the team's Week 4 game.
Fantasy Tip: With Austin ruled out, it likely means that Dwayne Harris could get more looks, if he gets on to the field as he is dealing with his own injury issues. If he canít go, Terrance Williams may get more looks, but Jason Witten may be the biggest beneficiary of this news.
Wed, 25 Sep 2013 09:49:56 -0700
Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams could start Week 4 if WR Miles Austin (hamstring) is not able to play.
Wed, 25 Sep 2013 09:35:01 -0700
Dallas Cowboys WR Miles Austin (hamstring) will not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 25, because of his hamstring injury.
Fantasy Tip: Austin has a history of hamstring injuries, so the team likely will be cautious with Austin while he recovers from his latest hamstring injury. Owners should monitor this situation closely because there is a chance he will sit out Week 4 to allow the injury to heal. He should be in all fantasy lineups if he is able to play. If he does not play, Terrance Williams and Dwayne Harris would get bigger roles in the passing game, but they likely would be flex options for owners.
Thu, 12 Sep 2013 17:21:30 -0700
Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams said he is still working on building a good chemistry with QB Tony Romo after he had some struggles Week 1. "I've got to keep building trust in (Romo) and doing what I'm supposed to do and being in the right spots at the right time," Williams said. "The more I do that, the more chances he'll throw the ball to me." Head coach Jason Garrett said Williams has nothing to worry about because he understands it takes time to build chemistry with a quarterback.
Wed, 11 Sep 2013 20:19:00 -0700

Owner and general manager Jerry Jones said Tuesday, Sept. 10, that the team will give WR Dwayne Harris more looks at the third receiver spot.
Mon, 09 Sep 2013 12:25:52 -0700
Updating a previous report, X-rays on Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot) came back negative, and he has been diagnosed with a sprained left foot.
Fantasy Tip: Miles Austin performed well Week 1 and could continue to be a top point-per-reception wide receiver if Bryant misses time. Terrance Williams and Dwayne Harris could also receive additional playing time if Bryant is limited or misses time. Williams probably would have more value, but neither player should be considered as more than a flex option at this point.
Fri, 16 Aug 2013 16:08:06 -0700
Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams (concussion) is likely to make his preseason debut against the Arizona Cardinals Saturday, Aug. 17, after missing the first two games with a concussion. WR Dwayne Harris was the No. 3 receiver with Williams out, but he has been moved back to No. 4 on the depth chart. Williams has been hurt by mental errors in the past but now seems to have command of the team's playbook.
Fantasy Tip: Williams shouldn't be on the radar of fantasy owners unless an injury were to occur to Dez Bryant or Miles Austin.

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams (concussion) is likely to return to practice next week after sitting out a week with concussion issues.

Wed, 26 Jun 2013 13:58:00 -0700
The Dallas Cowboys' strong preference is having WR Miles Austin as the slot receiver when they line up in three-receiver sets. Austin would be the slot receiver if WR Terrance Williams wins the No. 3 wide receiver job.
Fantasy Tip: Austin struggled with hamstring issues last season but was able to appear in all 16 games. If he is able to get over his hamstring problems, he should be considered a No. 3 fantasy wide receiver or a weekly flex option.
Wed, 26 Jun 2013 13:53:05 -0700
The Dallas Cowboys had WR Terrance Williams the 23rd player on their board entering the 2013 NFL Draft, and selected him with the 74th overall pick. He will be competing with WR Dwayne Harris for the No. 3 wide receiver job during training camp.

"Each day, what I'm proud of, he's getting a little bit better. He's still got a long way to go. It's a journey in the National Football League, especially at wide out, but I'm really proud of how he's progressing," Dooley said.

Fri, 26 Apr 2013 18:20:37 -0700
The Dallas Cowboys selected Baylor WR Terrance Williams with the 74th overall selection in the 2013 NFL Draft.
Fantasy Tip: Williams is a tall target for QB Tony Romo, and he is a very smart player. However, the knock on Williams is that he can sometimes lack concentration. He isn't someone who will warrant fantasy consideration in re-draft leagues, but he could become an option down the road on a team which needs help at the wideout position.
