New York Giants offensive line coach Pat Flaherty wants to keep OT Justin Pugh at right tackle. "I don't see wiggle room," Flaherty said Thursday. "Matter of fact, somebody -- not anybody with anything to do with decision-making -- asked me, 'Would you experiment with him?' Why experiment? He's a starting right tackle. Do I need to move him over to left guard? He's a starting right tackle. I tell the offensive linemen: 'You're a starter. You have a position. You earned that position. To move you has got to be to help the football team."

New York Giants OT Justin Pugh has been playing right tackle with the second-team offense during training camp behind OT David Diehl. Pugh played left tackle at the University of Syracuse, but said the move to the other side has been smooth. "I feel good about it," Pugh said Monday, July 29. "I'm feeling comfortable out there and in my set and all the different things. I think it's just getting in there and learning the playbook, and then getting on the technique and mastering the technique." The Giants have most of their linemen take snaps at other positions to increase their versatility.

"We'll continue to progress that way and it will work its way out whichever way it's going to work," Flaherty said. "Both of them are getting the same amount of reps. We have a lot of confidence in David Diehl as well as Justin Pugh, he'll get there as long as he continues to work."
