Bears | Marquess Wilson misses practice

Thu, 27 Aug 2015 15:06:49 -0700

Chicago Bears WR Marquess Wilson (hamstring) did not participate in practice Thursday, Aug. 27. He likely will not be able to play in the third preseason game.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson is expected to have a bigger role in the offense this season but has been sidelined by the injury. Wilson could be a late-round option in leagues if he is able to return to the field before the start of the regular season.

Bears | Alshon Jeffery, Marquess Wilson still out

Tue, 25 Aug 2015 12:52:05 -0700

Chicago Bears WRs Alshon Jeffery (calf) and Marquess Wilson (hamstring) were not at practice again Tuesday, Aug. 25. Head coach John Fox reiterated that Jeffery is day-to-day.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery may not see any game action until the final week of the preseason or the first week of the regular season. The promising aspect of his injury is that he shed his walking boot a little over a week ago. He remains in WR1 territory. Wilson is a sleeper, especially with WR Kevin White out a while.

Bears | Alshon Jeffery, Marquess Wilson out

Mon, 24 Aug 2015 11:36:08 -0700

Chicago Bears WRs Alshon Jeffery (calf) and Marquess Wilson (hamstring) did not practice Monday, Aug. 24.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery and Wilson still have a few weeks to recover before the regular season opener. The bigger concern is Jeffery, of course, as he has top-10 WR potential. Wilson is more of a sleeper, but still has decent value. Stay tuned.

Bears | Marquess Wilson's injury not serious

Sun, 23 Aug 2015 06:19:27 -0700

Chicago Bears WR Marquess Wilson (hamstring) suffered a hamstring injury in the second preseason game Saturday, Aug. 22, but head coach John Fox said the injury is not consider serious.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson likely will be at least the No. 3 receiver this season with Kevin White sidelined and could start if Alshon Jeffery is not ready for the start of the season. Wilson could be a late-round option in deeper leagues since he should see regular playing time.

Bears | Marquess Wilson injures leg

Sat, 22 Aug 2015 17:17:29 -0700

Chicago Bears WR Marquess Wilson (leg) is having his right leg stretched by the training staff after limping off the field in a preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts Saturday, Aug. 22.

Fantasy Tip: With Brandon Marshall leaving in the offseason and Kevin White dealing with an injury, Wilson should see some steady playing time to start the year. Assuming this injury doesn't turn out to be serious, he is worth taking later in drafts in case he emerges as the No. 2 option opposite Alshon Jeffrey.

Bears | Marquess Wilson proving to be versatile

Thu, 09 Jul 2015 19:58:18 -0700

Chicago Bears WR Marquess Wilson can "play all over" the field, according to offensive coordinator Adam Gase.

Fantasy Tip: With Brandon Marshall leaving in the offseason, Wilson has a chance to see some steady playing time in 2015, especially if rookie Kevin White isn't ready to start in Week 1. Wilson could make a nice early-season sleeper if he lines up across from Alshon Jeffrey for a few games, but White will be the receiver to own in the long run.

Bears | CHI needs group effort at WR

Sat, 20 Jun 2015 16:21:53 -0700

The Chicago Bears will be counting on a group effort from WRs Kevin White, Eddie Royal and Marquess Wilson to make up for Brandon Marshall's lost production. WR Alshon Jeffery is expected to fully takeover as the No. 1 receiver in Chicago.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery will enter the 2015 season as a top-5 receiver, while White is almost sure to be over drafted in his rookie season. Royal already has some chemistry with Jay Cutler from his time in Denver, and he should be considered as a sleeper heading into drafts.

Bears | Chicago looking for WRs

Fri, 06 Mar 2015 14:33:31 -0800

The Chicago Bears are unlikely to use the seventh overall pick of the NFL Draft on a wide receiver, but the upcoming class of receivers gives them many options to complement WR Alshon Jeffery. They could look to University of Miami WR Phillip Dorsett, who ran a 4.33-second 40-yard dash in the second round. The Bears also hosted free-agent WR Brian Hartline (Dolphins) for a visit this week. After trading WR Brandon Marshall, the current roster features WRs Josh Bellamy, Marc Mariani, Josh Morgan and Marquess Wilson. Jeffery may be moved to the No. 1 receiver role, but he averaged just four catches in the last three games with Marshall injured in 2014.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery should still be fine in Chicago, but Jay Cutler's status with the team may also be in question, further muddling the picture. Jeffery should be a safe top-end WR2, at worst. Counting on him as a top WR1 may be too much, though, since he could struggle to be consistent if the Bears don't give him receiving help around him.
