Wed, 13 Dec 2017 13:49:35 -0800

Arizona Cardinals RB Kerwynn Williams (ribs) put in a full practice Wednesday, Dec. 13.

Fantasy Tip: Williams has averaged 18 carries over his last two games but has yet to score more than 10 fantasy points. He should continue to start with Adrian Peterson sidelined, but don't view him as more than a standard low-end RB2 or flex.

Cardinals | Kerwynn Williams totals 21 touches

Sun, 10 Dec 2017 20:09:36 -0800

Arizona Cardinals RB Kerwynn Williams rushed 20 times for 73 yards in Week 14 against the Tennessee Titans and he added one reception for 15 yards on his only target.

Fantasy Tip: Williams did a pretty decent job as the lead back with Adrian Peterson (neck) inactive for a second straight game. If AP is forced to miss additional time going forward it's Williams who will be a RB3 or flex fantasy option in leagues of 12 or more teams.

Arizona Cardinals RB Kerwynn Williams (ribs) was able to practice in full on Friday, Dec. 8, and he has been removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 14 game against the Tennessee Titans.

Fantasy Tip: Williams figured to see a lion's share of the work in the Arizona backfield with Adrian Peterson (neck) sidelined for a second straight game. Williams isn't a bad RB3 or flex play in leagues of 12 or more teams.

Cardinals | Kerwynn Williams runs hard in loss

Sun, 03 Dec 2017 20:49:14 -0800

Arizona Cardinals RB Kerwynn Williams ran 16 times for 97 yards in Week 13 against the Los Angeles Rams.

Fantasy Tip: Williams stepped in for the injured Adrian Peterson (neck) and he did a pretty decent job. Peterson's injury doesn't sound terribly serious, and if he is back in Week 14 it would likely mean a much smaller role for Williams.

Cardinals | Kerwynn Williams may start

Sat, 02 Dec 2017 15:17:24 -0800

Arizona Cardinals RB Kerwynn Williams likely would be the starting running back against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 13 if Adrian Peterson (neck) is ruled out.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to check the inactive list to see if Peterson or Williams will be the starting running back this week. Williams is dealing with injured ribs but probably would receive most of the carries if Peterson sits. He could be a low-end No. 2 running back or flex option.

Cardinals | Kerwynn Williams plays just one snap on MNF

Mon, 25 Sep 2017 22:06:26 -0700

Arizona Cardinals RB Kerwynn Williams played only one snap in the team's Week 3 game Monday, Sept. 25, against the Dallas Cowboys, rushing once for three yards.

Fantasy Tip: Yikes. Those who invested in Williams as their waiver acquisition following the injury to David Johnson have to be furious right now, as after serving as the starting running back only a week ago, it looks like he's already fallen to third on the depth chart. To try and salvage this move, owners should be vying for the services of Andre Ellington, who could be the new starter after his solid performance in this one.

Cardinals | Kerwynn Williams will start this week

Wed, 13 Sep 2017 14:00:08 -0700

Arizona Cardinals RB Kerwynn Williams will be the starting running back this week with RB Andre Ellington serving as the No. 2 running back, according to head coach Bruce Arians.

Fantasy Tip: Williams, Ellington and Chris Johnson form a committee in place of David Johnson. Williams does have the most fantasy appeal as the technical starter, but his ceiling is limited with the presence of the other two backs. Williams is no more than a flex option in Week 2.

Cardinals | Kerwynn Williams finds end zone

Sun, 10 Sep 2017 16:30:49 -0700

Arizona Cardinals RB Kerwynn Williams rushed five times for 10 yards in Week 1 at Detroit, and he added a catch for two yards.

Fantasy Tip: Williams saw a few more touches than anticipated with David Johnson (wrist) nicked up in the game. The severity of Johnson's wrist issue is not yet known. If he needs time to mend then Williams might be a nice short-term fantasy option with a favorable matchup in Week 2 in Indianapolis.

Mon, 03 Apr 2017 21:40:52 -0700

Arizona Cardinals RB Kerwynn Williams appears to be set as the team's top backup running back behind RB David Johnson, according to head coach Bruce Arians. "I'm fine right now," Arians said this week at the NFL's annual meeting when asked about Arizona's running-game situation. "I think Kerwynn has proven every time he plays he gets 100 yards," he added. "Everybody says he's too small. He just gets 100 yards every time he steps out there."

Arizona Cardinals RB Kerwynn Williams rushed eight times for a team-best 44 yards in the Week 16 game against the Green Bay Packers, but he also lost a fumble to draw the ire of head coach Bruce Arians.

Fantasy Tip: David Johnson, hands down, is the Arizona running back to target in FantasyScore, and Williams and Andre Ellington are fighting for scraps at this point.

Cardinals | Kerwynn Williams finds the end zone

Sun, 06 Dec 2015 17:40:38 -0800

Arizona Cardinals RB Kerwynn Williams rushed six times for 59 yards and a touchdown in the Week 13 game against the St. Louis Rams.

Fantasy Tip: Williams took advantage of his an injury to Stepfan Taylor, seeing six touches and his first score of the year. If Taylor joins Andre Ellington and Chris Johnson on the shelf, Williams could have some FantasyScore appeal in the backfield with David Johnson.

Cardinals | David Johnson a natural pass catcher

Fri, 04 Dec 2015 16:26:07 -0800

Arizona Cardinals RB David Johnson has plenty of speed and has 30 pounds on RBs Chris Johnson and Andre Ellington, according to QB Carson Palmer. "Straight-ahead speed, he's probably as fast as those guys. Those guys are definitely shiftier and quicker, but he just runs through people and through arm tackles." Johnson excels as a pass catcher, too; Of his 171 offensive snaps this year, 67.3% have been pass plays, and he has 19 catches for 241 yards compared to 35 rushes for 139 yards.

RB Kerwynn Williams is expected to become an active part of the ground game behind Johnson, and RB Stepfan Taylor's role will also increase, especially in pass protection. Johnson had 23 touches in three games when Ellington missed time with an injury earlier this year. The experience early in the year helped with Johnson's knowledge of the playbook.

Fantasy Tip: Johnson ($6,300, 12.6% of cap) needs to be owned everywhere now that Chris Johnson is out for the year. The rookie will be especially helpful in point-per-reception leagues like FantasyScore, and he can help immediately in Week 13 against the St. Louis Rams, as he should have a large workload on the ground and through the air.

Cardinals | Chris Johnson put on IR

Tue, 01 Dec 2015 13:49:44 -0800

Arizona Cardinals RB Chris Johnson (leg) was placed on the short-term Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Dec. 1, and promoted RB Kerwynn Williams from the practice squad to the active roster in a corresponding move. CB Robert Nelson was also released. Free-agent SS D.J. Swearinger (Buccaneers) was signed to the practice squad and TE Brandon Bostick was released.

Fantasy Tip: Johnson will be out at least six weeks. He'd be eligible to return if Arizona advanced to the Super Bowl. You can forget about him in all fantasy formats for the rest of this year. David Johnson is an immediate add off the waiver wire, and he could start in Week 13 against the St. Louis Rams if Andre Ellington is out of action with turf toe.

Cardinals | Kerwynn Williams may be No. 3 RB

Fri, 07 Aug 2015 14:22:54 -0700

Arizona Cardinals RB Kerwynn Williams could be the leading candidate for the No. 3 running back job, because head coach Bruce Arians said Williams is the best one among the healthy running backs. Williams has been working with the first-team offense because of injuries to RBs Andre Ellington (hamstring) and David Johnson (hamstring). Williams is competing with RB Stepfan Taylor and Marion Grice for the No. 3 job.

Fantasy Tip: Williams likely will see limited touches if he wins the No. 3 running back job but could see more time if one of the top two backs are injured. Owners can pass over Williams during drafts but could consider him as a waiver wire option if he receives a bigger role.

Cardinals | Kerwynn Williams with starter reps

Arizona Cardinals RB Kerwynn Williams took the first-team repetitions Monday, Aug. 3, with RBs Andre Ellington (hamstring) and David Johnson (hamstring) out. RB Stepfan Taylor worked with the second unit.

Fantasy Tip: Neither Ellington or Johnson are expected to be out for long. Williams would make a late-round flyer if he can impress and carve a niche in the two lead backs' absence.

Arizona Cardinals RB Kerwynn Williams (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 19, and is listed as probable for Week 16.

Fantasy Tip: Williams has posted two straight solid performances and should continue to see plenty of touches because of the team's quarterback situation but will be facing a tough Seattle Seahawks defense. Williams costs $4,400 on FantasyScore and is a weak option for owners.

Thu, 18 Dec 2014 17:55:58 -0800

Arizona Cardinals RB Kerwynn Williams (knee) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, Dec. 18.

Fantasy Tip: Williams ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) has been rushed for 175 on 5.1 yards per carry over the past two games, but he faces a tough test against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 16 and should be probably be avoided.

Fantasy Tip: Williams rushed 15 times for 75 yards, while Taylor rushed 14 times for 61 yards. Williams added two catches for 11 yards. Expect to see the duo split touches in the near term, with Williams slightly more valuable on FantasyScore due to his receiving ability.

Cardinals | Stepfan Taylor still starter

Mon, 08 Dec 2014 11:41:26 -0800

Arizona Cardinals RB Stepfan Taylor is still the team's starting running back, but Kerwynn Williams will still get opportunities.

Fantasy Tip: Taylor was also technically the start in Week 14 when Williams ran for 100 yards. Neither has a great matchup against the St. Louis Rams this week, however, though if you have an extra roster spot they are worth a pickup with Andre Ellington out for the year.

Sun, 07 Dec 2014 16:35:02 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WR Kerwynn Williams carried 19 times for 100 yards in Week 14 against the Kansas City Chiefs. He was activated from the practice squad Friday, Dec. 5, when RB Michael Bush was released.

Fantasy Tip: Stepfan Taylor started the game, and Marion Grice had three touches, but it was Williams who came out of nowhere to pick up the slack with Andre Ellington inactive. With reports Ellington might be done for the season, Williams is a player worth watching in FantasyScore in future weeks.
