Rams | Robert Woods sits again

Thu, 23 Nov 2017 15:44:27 -0800

Los Angeles Rams WR Robert Woods (shoulder) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 23.

Fantasy Tip: Woods probably will sit out this week and could miss even more time, so owners should avoid him for the time being. Sammy Watkins and Cooper Kupp are probably the only Rams pass catchers that owners should consider for their starting lineups.

Rams | Robert Woods out several weeks

Mon, 20 Nov 2017 17:16:26 -0800

Los Angeles Rams WR Robert Woods (shoulder) will miss a few weeks because of his shoulder injury, according to head coach Sean McVay.

Fantasy Tip: Cooper Kupp, Tavon Austin and Pharoh Cooper are options to receive more targets while Woods is sidelined. Kupp is probably the best option among the receivers and can be a flex option in most leagues. Austin and Cooper are not great fantasy options at this point.

Fantasy Tip: The team is optimistic Woods will be available for Week 12 against the visiting New Orleans Saints despite leaving the stadium with his arm in a sling. He has emerged as a solid fantasy option, getting more comfortable in the offense.

Sun, 19 Nov 2017 15:38:07 -0800

Los Angeles Rams WR Robert Woods finished with eight receptions for 81 yards on 11 targets in Week 11 against the Minnesota Vikings.

Fantasy Tip: Woods saw his long touchdown streak come to an end, as he had scores of 50-plus yards in each of the past two games. He was able to tie a season best with eight receptions, and his 11 targets were the most so far this year. He has emerged as a dependable low-end WR2 or flex play in most leagues. The Rams host the Saints in Week 12.

Los Angeles Rams WR Robert Woods caught eight passes for 171 yards and two touchdowns in a 33-7 win over the Houston Texans in Week 10.

Los Angeles Rams WR Robert Woods caught four passes for 70 yards and two touchdowns against the New York Giants in Week 9.

Fantasy Tip: Woods has been targeted at least five targets in each of the last six games and has posted 70 yards in two of the last three games. He has been a reliable target for the Rams this season and can be at least a No. 3 receiver for owners.

Los Angeles Rams WR Robert Woods posted five receptions for 59 yards on seven targets in Week 7 against the Arizona Cardinals in London.

Fantasy Tip: Woods is starting to develop a nice rapport with Jared Goff, as he gradually gets comfortable in his new surroundings. He'll have two weeks with the bye to continue working hard. However, he remains nothing more than a low-end WR4 or flex fantasy play heading into Week 9.

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 20:46:47 -0700

Fantasy Tip: Woods hasn't visited the end zone in six outings this season, and he did lose a fumble in this one, buthe has at least 66 yards in three of his past four games. He remains more of a low-end WR4 or flex play heading into Week 7 against the Arizona Cardinals in London.

Fantasy Tip: Woods has racked up 13 receptions for 191 yards over his past three games. He has re-emerged as a WR4 or flex option in deeper fantasy leagues now that he has started to jell with Jared Goff. The Rams travel to meet the Jaguars in Week 6.

Rams | Robert Woods targeted six times

Sun, 01 Oct 2017 17:30:39 -0700

Los Angeles Rams WR Robert Woods was targeted six times in Week 4 against the Dallas Cowboys, but he managed just two grabs for 17 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Woods had 108 yards in Week 3 against the 49ers, and set the bar a bit higher for this weekend. However, he was a total bust. He thought he had a touchdown in the first half, and was celebrating, but the officials ruled the play in the back of the red zone was incomplete. He'll look to get back on track in Week 5 against the Seahawks.

Rams | Robert Woods tops 100 yards

Thu, 21 Sep 2017 21:25:30 -0700

Los Angeles Rams WR Robert Woods registered six receptions for 108 yards in the team's Week 3 win over the San Francisco 49ers.

Fantasy Tip: This is what the Rams were hoping for when they inked Woods to a five-year, $39 million deal in the offseason. Woods caught six of the seven balls thrown his way and looked like a nice complement to Sammy Watkins. One game does not a season make, but this shows Woods is capable of contributing at a fantasy-relevant level. For now he's a decent depth option.

Rams | Robert Woods held to one reception

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 21:26:02 -0700

Los Angeles Rams WR Robert Woods managed just one catch for eight yards on four targets in Week 2 against Washington.

Fantasy Tip: The former Bills receiver is trying to learn the team's playbook and offensive system while jelling with a new quarterback and that takes time. So far, he isn't worth using in most fantasy leagues with his new team.

Rams | Robert Woods eyeing lead receiver role

Sat, 27 May 2017 10:00:41 -0700

Los Angeles Rams WR Robert Woods is determined to be a "No. 1 receiver," according to the Los Angeles Times' Gary Klein.

Fantasy Tip: Woods has not eclipsed 699 yards receiving in a season, has only three 100-yard receiving games and no multi-touchdown games over his four-year career, although it could be argued he didn't have much of a chance playing second-fiddle to Sammy Watkins in a run-based offense. On a team lacking veteran offensive playmakers in the passing game, the Rams may be able to grant Woods his wish. His target share alone in 2017 should allow him to be a fantasy WR3.

Rams | Robert Woods to lead team in catches?

Wed, 24 May 2017 09:52:30 -0700

Los Angeles Rams WR Robert Woods is "perhaps the best bet to lead the (team) in catches," according to ESPN's Alden Gonzalez.

Fantasy Tip: Woods and quarterback Jared Goff have been working out together since mid-March, and the quarterback told Gonzalez that Woods has been "more than I could have really expected." The former Buffalo Bill is the only clear starting receiver Los Angeles has at the moment and will probably see enough targets to be a serviceable WR4 in fantasy.

Rams | Robert Woods headed to Rams

Thu, 09 Mar 2017 08:19:01 -0800

Buffalo Bills impending free-agent WR Robert Woods is expected to sign a five-year, $39 million deal with the Los Angeles Rams Thursday, March 9. The deal includes $15 million guaranteed.

Fantasy Tip: Woods will take over for Kenny Britt as a possession receiver after posting a 51-613-1 line last year. He has been a matchup play in fantasy, and he could be a sneaky back-end receiver in fantasy if he's used properly.

Bills | Robert Woods still open to returning

Sat, 25 Feb 2017 07:22:35 -0800

Buffalo Bills impending free-agent WR Robert Woods remains open to re-signing with the Bills, although he wants the club's quarterback situation to be resolved before he makes a final decision.

Fantasy Tip: If Tyrod Taylor returns as Buffalo's starting quarterback next season, the chances of Woods remaining with the team are better. Regardless of where he lands, Woods is expected to be used as a No. 2 or No. 3 receiver and should be viewed as a WR4 in most fantasy formats.

Bills | Robert Woods happy with role

Fri, 24 Feb 2017 20:29:19 -0800

Buffalo Bills impending free-agent WR Robert Woods said he would have no problem continuing to serve as the No. 2 option behind WR Sammy Watkins in Buffalo's passing attack.

Fantasy Tip: Woods could sign elsewhere in the offseason, but he is likely to be a No. 2 or No. 3 receiver wherever he ends up. Heading into 2017, he projects as a WR4 for fantasy purposes.

Bills | Robert Woods likely to hit market

Fri, 17 Feb 2017 12:50:15 -0800

Buffalo Bills impending free-agent WR Robert Woods probably will test the free-agent market unless he receives an overwhelming offer from the Bills, in the opinion of Buffalo Bills.com's Chris Brown. The Bills may not be part of a bidding war if Woods receives interest from other teams.

Fantasy Tip: Woods probably will receive interest from a few teams looking for a No. 2 or No. 3 receiver in free agency. He finished this season with 51 catches for 613 yards and one touchdown. Fantasy owners probably should consider Woods as a No. 3 or a No. 4 receiver in drafts.

Bills | Robert Woods to test market

Tue, 03 Jan 2017 19:42:30 -0800

Buffalo Bills WR Robert Woods told media in Buffalo he has plans to test the free-agent market this spring.

Fantasy Tip: Woods doesn't turn 25 until April, which could be a plus for him. There were games where Sammy Watkins did not play and Woods did well, and Woods had a 67 percent success rate catching passes this season. If Woods finds a decent situation, he could be a strong WR2 candidate.

Bills | Robert Woods catches four passes

Sun, 01 Jan 2017 14:50:41 -0800

Buffalo Bills WR Robert Woods caught four passes for 43 yards against the New York Jets in Week 17.

Fantasy Tip: Woods has a reliable receiver for the Bills this season but was held to under 50 yards in each of his last five games. He will be a free agent this offseason but it is not known if he will be able to find a starting job. He should be at least a No. 3 receiver for a team and will be a late-round option in drafts.

Bills | Robert Woods catches three passes

Sat, 24 Dec 2016 15:18:18 -0800

Buffalo Bills WR Robert Woods caught three passes for 43 yards against the Miami Dolphins in Week 16.

Fantasy Tip: Woods has recorded only eight receptions total in the last four games and appears to be the third option at best in the passing game. Owners in all leagues should avoid Woods and look for other options to use.

Bills | Re-signing Robert Woods a priority

Fri, 23 Dec 2016 07:33:31 -0800

Buffalo Bills impending free-agent WR Robert Woods will be atop the team's offseason priority list, according to general manager Doug Whaley.

Fantasy Tip: Woods has a 44-527-1 line on the season, but his last three games have returned futile results. He has a combined 5-75-0 line during those slates, and he's not much of a flex option right now.

Bills | Robert Woods quiet in Week 15

Sun, 18 Dec 2016 14:34:28 -0800

Buffalo Bills WR Robert Woods caught one pass for five yards against the Cleveland Browns in Week 15.

Fantasy Tip: Woods has been held to two catches for 34 yards in his last two games but should stay in the starting lineup for now. Owners probably should be able to find better options to use and can avoid Woods.

Bills | Robert Woods held to one catch

Sun, 11 Dec 2016 14:21:49 -0800

Buffalo Bills WR Robert Woods caught one pass for 29 yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 14.

Fantasy Tip: Woods was coming off a knee injury, so he may have received limited snaps during the game. He should be a solid part of the passing game moving forward and can be a flex option in some leagues.

Bills | Robert Woods officially active

Sun, 11 Dec 2016 09:43:52 -0800

Buffalo Bills WR Robert Woods (knee) is officially active for the team's Week 14 game.

Fantasy Tip: Woods missed some time because of his injury but should see a solid amount of targets in the passing game. He can be a flex option in deeper leagues but the weather may affect his production during the game.

Bills | Robert Woods questionable for Week 14

Fri, 09 Dec 2016 13:52:16 -0800

Buffalo Bills WR Robert Woods (knee) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 9, and is listed as questionable for Week 14.

Fantasy Tip: Woods should be able to play in Week 14 as long as he does not suffer a setback over the next few days. He probably will be one of the starting receivers during the game and will see a decent amount of targets. Woods can be a flex option in leagues.

Bills | Buffalo WR duo 'ready to roll'

Fri, 09 Dec 2016 10:29:42 -0800

Buffalo Bills WRs Sammy Watkins (foot) and Robert Woods (knee) will be "ready to roll" in Week 14 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to head coach Rex Ryan.

Fantasy Tip: Both players are listed as questionable for this weekend, but it appears Buffalo will have its starting receivers on the field at the same time for the first time since Week 2. It is worth noting Pittsburgh has allowed only seven touchdowns to receivers this season - second-fewest in the league - and the Bills' passing game can generally support only one fantasy-viable receiver. Consider Watkins a WR3 this weekend and Woods a WR4.

Fri, 02 Dec 2016 14:10:24 -0800

Updating a previous report, Buffalo Bills WR Robert Woods (knee) has been ruled out for Week 13.

Bills | Robert Woods sits out

Fri, 02 Dec 2016 08:21:11 -0800

Buffalo Bills WR Robert Woods (knee) is out of practice Friday, Dec. 2.

Fantasy Tip: He looks like a no-go this week. Sammy Watkins (foot), who returned with three catches for 80 yards last week, looks like he'll be able to play. His upside isn't where it normally is, especially with a midrange matchup against the Oakland Raiders, but he should be a WR2 in PPR.

Bills | Robert Woods sits out practice

Thu, 01 Dec 2016 16:05:44 -0800

Buffalo Bills WR Robert Woods (knee) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 1.

Fantasy Tip: Woods is probably going to miss the team's Week 13 contest Sunday against the Raiders. Sammy Watkins' (foot) status is also up in the air, making it tough to determine just who to deploy from Buffalo's receiving corps. The likes of Marquise Goodwin and Justin Hunter would get substantial boosts if both Woods and Watkins are out, though it would be tough to count on them in leagues outside of deep formats.

Thu, 01 Dec 2016 10:20:15 -0800

Bills | Robert Woods a no-go vs. Jags

Fri, 25 Nov 2016 10:27:26 -0800

Buffalo Bills WR Robert Woods (knee) has been ruled out for Week 12 versus the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Fantasy Tip: Woods sprained his knee last week and hasn't practiced sense, making him extremely questionable for Week 13. The Bills are expected to get Sammy Watkins back in a limited fashion this week, however, so all is not lost. Buffalo will likely give Justin Hunter, Marquise Goodwin and possibly even Percy Harvin more snaps in what figures to be an even more run-heavy attack than usual.

Bills | Robert Woods unlikely to play

Mon, 21 Nov 2016 15:29:00 -0800

Buffalo Bills WR Robert Woods (knee) is doubtful to play in Week 12 after sustaining a knee sprain in Week 11, according to head coach Rex Ryan.

Fantasy Tip: Depending on the status of LeSean McCoy and Sammy Watkins, Marquise Goodwin and Charles Clay could be in for a substantial amount of targets this week. Both would make for cheap, contrarian plays in daily contests if all of Watkins, McCoy and Woods are sidelined.

Fantasy Tip: If Woods is out, the receiving corps is in shambles. LeSean McCoy (thumb) could be a bigger factor in the passing game, but he's expected to play after surgery on his thumb. Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to keep an eye on the situation to see if Woods will be able to return to the game. He has been the team's No. 1 receiver with Sammy Watkins out and has played well. Justin Hunter, Percy Harvin and Charles Clay are all candidates to see more targets if Woods misses time but none of the players are great options.

Sun, 20 Nov 2016 08:39:43 -0800

Confirming a previous report, Buffalo Bills WR Robert Woods (foot) is active for Week 11's game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Fantasy Tip: Woods is expected to be Buffalo's primary target in the passing game and is worth considering as a WR3 or flex option in all fantasy formats. Owners should not be concerned about his foot injury because he has played through the pain for nearly a month and was able to take part in every practice session leading up to this game.
