Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray (head) left to be evaluated for concussion in the Week 10 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London. However, he was able to return to the game and had rush attempts in the fourth quarter before RB Joseph Randle finished up.
Fantasy Tip: Murray came back into the game, but did not run deep into the fourth quarter because of the lopsided score. Murray reached 100 yards before departing, and he appears to be fine after a scare for his fantasy owners.
Sun, 02 Nov 2014 03:46:53 -0800
Dallas Cowboys RB Joseph Randle is "staying for now", according to a team source, even though he has been ostracized by his teammates, and head coach Jason Garrett had to have a meeting to clear the air on tension within the team. Randle was seen on video criticizing the recent legal problems of WR Dez Bryant and DT Joshua Brent, and the disagreements spilled onto the practice field. Randle himself has off-field issues stemming from a shoplifting arrest.
Wed, 15 Oct 2014 10:34:32 -0700
Dallas Cowboys RB Joseph Randle will play in Week 7 against the New York Giants despite being arrest for shoplifting recently, according to head coach Jason Garrett.
Fantasy Tip: Randle ($3,000) should be owned by all DeMarco Murray owners, as the Cowboys main back's workload is piling up at an alarming rate. Randle is next in line behind Murray, and should he be injured, Randle would gain significant value.

Mon, 06 Oct 2014 14:38:58 -0700
Dallas Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray is likely to have his workload lessened by head coach Jason Garrett to preserve him for the long season. Murray is currently on pace to tie Larry Johnson's single-season record for carries with 416. Murray has run the ball 130 times for 670 yards in the team's first five games of the season. He carried a career-high 31 times for 136 yards in Week 5. Murray has had at least 22 carries in the five games, which is the most he's had in any five-game span in his career.
"DeMarco was out there and we think that's probably too many carries in the game, week in and week out," Garrett said. "He ended up with 31 so we'd like to get that number lower. We'd really just like to get the other guys an opportunity. I don't see any wear and tear in DeMarco but having said that, we want to make sure we create a rotation and we'll focus on doing that in the next few weeks." Murray has never had more than 217 carries in a season. RBs Joseph Randle and Lance Dunbar have combined for 22 carries and 88 yards.
Fantasy Tip: This shouldn't discourage you from using Murray in your daily lineups at FantasyScore. He has been the most productive back in fantasy football, and that shouldn't change drastically with fewer touches.
Fri, 03 Oct 2014 18:56:40 -0700
Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said Friday, Oct. 3, that RB Joseph Randle can be effective, and he could be in line for a few more snaps going forward. "The biggest threat to (RB DeMarco Murray's) stats is Joseph Randle," Jones said. "Frankly, I don't want to leave (RB Lance Dunbar) out of this equation, either. If we can, it would be good to have Dunbar with a few more touches. But make no mistake about it, Joseph Randle can be effective out there, too. Should we? We probably should have at least Randle get a few more snaps."

Tue, 15 Jul 2014 09:08:13 -0700
Dallas Cowboys RB Joseph Randle has the inside track to win the No. 3 running back job, and would likely take over the every-down role if something were to happen to RB DeMarco Murray.
Sat, 12 Jul 2014 20:34:52 -0700
Dallas Cowboys RB Lance Dunbar (knee) hasn't missed a snap this offseason and should fill the third-down back role for the team this year, according to Todd Archer of ESPNDallas.com. Archer also believes that Dunbar would likely remain the third-down back even if something happens to RB DeMarco Murray with either RB Joseph Randle or RB Ryan Williams taking over as the every-down back, depending on which player wins the job as the team's third back.
Fantasy Tip: Dunbar's involvement in the passing game could make him worth a flier in PPR leagues this year. However, his value is going to be capped if he is limited to mainly passing downs.
Mon, 26 May 2014 20:57:47 -0700
The decision to carry three running backs and a fullback is not expected to be decided until the second or third preseason game. If the team elects not to carry a fullback, it might make it easier for RBs Ben Malena, Joseph Randle or Ryan Williams to make the roster.

Tue, 03 Dec 2013 18:21:03 -0800
The Dallas Cowboys plan to ride RB DeMarco Murray as much as they can after losing RB Lance Dunbar (knee). "DeMarco Murray is our lead back, has been our lead back all year long, has done an excellent job for us, did a really good job in the game the other day again," head coach Jason Garrett said Tuesday, Dec. 3. "He'll be the lead dog. The other guys, (RBs Joseph Randle and Phillip Tanner) will have to step up if they have an opportunity if DeMarco can't go."
Fantasy Tip: If you're a Murray fantasy owner, this is music to your ears. Randle and Tanner are not real threats to push their way into a timeshare with Murray, so he will see a bulk of the carries in a league where in this day and age teams are using a two-back system. Over his past three games, Murray has 238 rushing yards and four touchdowns, and he has eight receptions for 79 yards over his past two outings.
Sat, 30 Nov 2013 08:10:02 -0800
Dallas Cowboys RBs Phillip Tanner and Joseph Randle are expected to receive bigger roles in the offense because of the injury to RB Lance Dunbar (knee).
Sun, 27 Oct 2013 19:18:38 -0700
Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said Sunday, Oct. 27, that RB DeMarco Murray (knee) could have played in Week 8 against the Detroit Lions. "I think DeMarco Murray could have gone," Jones said. "I don't know what risk we would have taken with him, but he could have gone." RB Joseph Randle rushed for just 26 yards on 14 carries, and RB Lance Dunbar had 16 yards on five runs.
Sun, 27 Oct 2013 08:27:05 -0700
Dallas Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray (knee) has been declared inactive for the team's Week 8 game.
Fantasy Tip: Joseph Randle likely will receive most of the carries during the game and should be considered a No. 3 running back or flex option this week.
Fri, 25 Oct 2013 20:33:39 -0700
Dallas Cowboys RB Joseph Randle might make his second straight start in place of RB DeMarco Murray (knee) in Week 8 against the Detroit Lions, if Murray is unable to go. Officially, Murray is questionable, or 50-50 to play.
Fantasy Tip: Randle would face a Detroit Lions rushing defense which ranks 23rd in the NFL, allowing 115.1 yards per game on the ground. If Randle does indeed make the start, consider him a sneaky low-end RB2 or flex play in most fantasy leagues.
Fri, 25 Oct 2013 12:56:42 -0700
Dallas Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray (knee) is officially listed as questionable for Week 8 against the Detroit Lions, but the team is optimistic that he will play after he went through a third straight day of limited practice Friday, Oct. 25. Murray missed Week 7 with a sprained knee. "He's got a real shot," executive vice president Stephen Jones said of Murray. "Wouldn't say for sure. I think it's still questionable but we'll kind of see how he feels after today's practice and we'll see how it feels on Sunday and we'll make a decision …. We want to do right for DeMarco for the season not just one game." RB Joseph Randle would start again if Murray isn't able to suit up. RB Lance Dunbar (hamstring) will also be back in Week 8.
Fantasy Tip: Basically, Murray will be a game-time decision this weekend. Check back Sunday morning to find out if he's playing. If he's in there, he should probably be in your starting lineup, depending on your other options.
Wed, 23 Oct 2013 14:53:48 -0700
Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray (knee) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 23, and he was wearing shoulder pads and sweatpants.
Fantasy Tip: It appears as though Murray is headed for a questionable designation for Week 8 against the Detroit Lions. If he plays, he'll likely split plenty of the workload with Joseph Randle. Tread carefully here.
Sun, 20 Oct 2013 08:40:05 -0700
Dallas Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray (knee) has been declared inactive for the team's Week 7 game.
Fantasy Tip: Joseph Randle is expected to get most of the playing time at running back with Murray out. Randle should be considered as a flex option for most fantasy owners.
Fri, 18 Oct 2013 15:28:19 -0700
Dallas Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray (knee) did not participate in practice Friday, Oct. 18, and is listed as doubtful for Week 7.
Fantasy Tip: It appears like Murray will sit out the game because of his injury. Joseph Randle likely will receiver most of the reps at running back this week and should be considered a flex option for most fantasy owners.
Wed, 16 Oct 2013 15:54:51 -0700
Dallas Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray (knee) is preparing as if he will play in Week 7 against the Philadelphia Eagles. "I am running, doing some good things with (trainer) Britt (Brown). We haven't said which way, what we're going to do yet. I think it all depends on how comfortable I am. We were able to do some things today and it felt good," Murray said. Owner Jerry Jones said Murray could sit out this week and return in Week 8 to face the Detroit Lions.
Fantasy Tip: Murray is probably being overly optimistic. The Cowboys won't rush him back, especially with his history of injuries and slow recoveries. Don't expect to be able to use him this weekend. Joseph Randle should see a large amount of work even if Murray miraculously plays.
Wed, 16 Oct 2013 13:14:02 -0700
Dallas Cowboys RP Joseph Randle is taking the first-team repetitions in practice Wednesday, Oct. 16.
Fantasy Tip: DeMarco Murray (knee) isn't expected to play against the Philadelphia Eagles this weekend, so Randle should receive the majority of the carries. Grab Randle if you're a Murray owner or are looking to build running back depth.
Mon, 14 Oct 2013 11:12:41 -0700
Dallas Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray (knee) will miss the team's Week 7 game but may be able to play Week 8.
Fantasy Tip: With Murray out, Joseph Randle likely will see most of the carries with Phillip Tanner also receiving some playing time. Randle should be considered a flex option while Murray is out. Tanner likely will be just a bench option at this point.
Mon, 14 Oct 2013 09:35:05 -0700
Dallas Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray (knee) is dealing with a left medial collateral ligament sprain in his knee, and he'll undergo an MRI exam Monday, Oct. 14. Murray was injured in the second quarter against the Washington Redskins and entered the day ranked fifth in the league with 399 rushing yards. It's unknown if Murray will be able to play in Week 7 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Fantasy Tip: Murray will probably be questionable in Week 7, so keep tabs on his status during the week. It's not a long-term injury, but Murray has been injury-prone and isn't what we'd call a quick healer. If he can't play, the Cowboys would likely go with some combination of Phillip Tanner and Joseph Randle in the backfield.

Dallas Cowboys RB Joseph Randle could be active for Week 4 after sitting out the first three games of the season. Randle has been working on improving his special teams play as well as his pass blocking.

Fri, 09 Aug 2013 11:38:07 -0700
Dallas Cowboys RB Joseph Randle is looking to improve in his second preseason game after rushing 13 times for 70 yards in the team's first preseason game. "This is the next step," Randle said. "I'm just trying to establish myself as a hard-working guy and earn the respect of my teammates, all the things new people try to do. You earn respect from your teammates by what they see you doing and they see you working hard in practice, all the things that really matter in order for me to stay on the team. I have to be in order to do my part."
Tue, 30 Jul 2013 18:16:31 -0700
Dallas Cowboys RB Joseph Randle (thumb) showed well in the team's scrimmage, and is off to a good start in training camp, according to head coach Jason Garrett. Still, Randle is behind RB Lance Dunbar for the race for the backup job to RB DeMarco Murray, and RB Phillip Tanner has reportedly been more consistent as well.
Fantasy Tip: Randle missed practice in the offseason due to a thumb injury, so he has gotten behind a bit. However, he has more upside than Dunbar and Tanner. Right now, he is only worth drafting in long-term keeper formats.

Thu, 13 Jun 2013 10:27:31 -0700
Dallas Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) said he feels like he's "back where [he needs] to be" and is expected to participate in minicamp workouts Thursday, June 13. He missed the first few organized team activities back in May because of a slight hamstring strain.
Fantasy Tip: Something always seems to pop up when it comes to Murray's health, and it's something that fantasy drafters should pay attention to. Rookie Joseph Randle should see a bigger offensive role than most think, and Dallas may even consider going after Willis McGahee.
Wed, 05 Jun 2013 18:58:15 -0700
Dallas Cowboys RB Joseph Randle (thumb) said Wednesday, June 5, that he expects to have his cast removed in two weeks and should be a full participant in training camp in July. "I'm ready to get it off," Randle said.
Fantasy Tip: Randle is expected to compete with Lance Dunbar for the primary backup running back job behind DeMarco Murray. Given Murray's injury history, Randle could find himself in a favorable position if he can stay healthy himself. As far as fantasy value is concerned, if he wins the No. 2 job, Randle would be worth a late-round flier, and he could be a nice handcuff for Murray owners.
Tue, 28 May 2013 16:51:31 -0700
Dallas Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring), who has gained a reputation as being injury-prone, said he plans on playing in all 16 games this season. Murray missed last week's organized team activities and Tuesday, May 28, with a tweaked hamstring. " ... I am going to play all 16 (games) this year, and I'm excited. It's going to be a great year for us," Murray said. RB Joseph Randle was drafted in the fifth round this year for running back depth.
Fantasy Tip: We wish all it took was Murray stating he'll play a full season in order for us to have confidence in drafting him as a bonafide No. 1 rusher. Unfortunately, you'll have to play it safe with him since he's missed nine games in the past two seasons. Consider him a solid No. 2 back with the potential to be an elite No. 1 starter if he plays most of the season.
Mon, 13 May 2013 13:46:00 -0700
