Ravens | Marlon Brown has solid game

Thu, 03 Sep 2015 21:00:03 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WR Marlon Brown caught three passes for 64 yards in a 20-19 preseason loss to Atlanta Falcons Thursday, Sept. 3.

Fantasy Tip: Brown has been slowed by injuries this preseason, but he could still end up as the No. 2 receiver across from Steve Smith. That being said, he is a late-round flier at best.

Ravens | Marlon Brown returns

Mon, 17 Aug 2015 11:45:42 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WR Marlon Brown (back, hamstring) returned to practice Monday, Aug. 17, in a limited fashion.

Fantasy Tip: The good news is that Brown finally returned to practice, although it might take some time for him to get back to full participation. Brown, Breshad Perriman and Kamar Aiken are all in the running for the Ravens' No. 2 wide receiver job behind Steve Smith. Brown shouldn't be viewed as more than a WR5 for now.

Ravens | Two Baltimore WRs absent

Sat, 15 Aug 2015 12:21:16 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WRs Marlon Brown (back, hamstring) and Kamar Aiken (undisclosed) did not practice Saturday, Aug. 15.

Fantasy Tip: It's unclear how long Brown and Aiken will be out of commission, but it doesn't sound like the injuries are serious. Brown and Aiken will compete with rookie Breshad Perriman, with all three of them playing behind Steve Smith. Brown and Aiken should both be viewed as a WR5.

Ravens | Marlon Brown undergoes MRI

Wed, 05 Aug 2015 09:22:08 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WR Marlon Brown (back) recently underwent an MRI for a nerve issue in his back. Head coach John Harbaugh said he is not sure when Brown will return to practice.

Fantasy Tip: Brown is one of the several candidates for the No. 2 wide receiver job, so missing time will hurt his chances for the job. He could still be a candidate if he returns to camp in the near future. Brown should have a solid role in the passing game this season and could be a late-round option in deeper leagues.

Ravens | Marlon Brown considered day-to-day

Sun, 02 Aug 2015 06:18:55 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WR Marlon Brown (back) is regarded as day-to-day.

Fantasy Tip: Brown is yet another member of the Ravens' banged up receiving corps. With the Ravens most prominent position battles coming at the position, whichever player can get healthy first may have the upper hand.

Ravens | Marlon Brown ready for the next step?

Sun, 12 Jul 2015 05:55:46 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WR Marlon Brown worked out four days a week during the offseason and watched more film than in the past. He has impressed wide receivers coach Bobby Engram, "You really saw Marlon come on strong the last half of last season, and we see the same thing in OTAs and minicamp," he said. "He's made a lot of plays, and he understands multiple positions. He's a worker and he's a technician who's learning how to continue to hone his craft." Head coach John Harbaugh also noted, "He's just a really gifted player. Like I said, I have high hopes for him. I really want to see him break out."

Fantasy Tip: Brown enters a camp battle with Breshad Perriman and Kamar Aiken for snaps, but should be the front-runner for the starting gig opposite Steve Smith. Brown's targets were slashed from 82 in his rookie year to just 31 in 2014, but he should bounce back in 2015. Also, don't rule out a significant red-zone role, which was an area he excelled in during the 2013 season. At this point, Brown is nothing more than a endgame flier with more value in standard formats.
