Redskins | Marlon Brown of interest to Washington

Mon, 18 Jul 2016 10:07:11 -0700

Free-agent WR Marlon Brown (Ravens) is working out for the Washington Redskins Monday, July 18.

Fantasy Tip: Brown had only 14 catches for 112 yards and no scores in 10 games with the Ravens in 2015, and he'd likely just be a depth option if signed in Washington. He can be ignored for fantasy even if he's inked by the Redskins.

Ravens | Marlon Brown will miss game

Fri, 25 Dec 2015 13:52:40 -0800

Baltimore Ravens WR Marlon Brown (back) did not participate in practice Friday, Dec. 25, and has been ruled out for the Week 16 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Fantasy Tip: Kamar Aiken ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) probably is the only Ravens receiver that fantasy owners should consider starting. Aiken should be a solid starting option because the Steelers struggle against the pass.

Ravens | Marlon Brown does not practice

Thu, 24 Dec 2015 13:04:54 -0800

Baltimore Ravens WR Marlon Brown (back) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 24.

Fantasy Tip: It looks like Brown ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) will miss another game because of an injury, but owners can check on his status in case he shows improvement. Kamar Aiken ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) is probably the only receiver on the team that has fantasy value and could be a solid starting option against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 16 since the team struggles against the pass.

Ravens | Marlon Brown listed as doubtful

Fri, 18 Dec 2015 13:24:00 -0800

Baltimore Ravens WR Marlon Brown (back) did not participate in practice Friday, Dec. 18, and is listed as doubtful for the Week 15 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Fantasy Tip: Chris Givens ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) probably will see more playing time with Brown likely sitting out but is not a great fantasy option. Kamar Aiken ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) is probably the only Ravens receivers owners should consider using, and he is not a strong option.

Ravens | Marlon Brown out again

Thu, 17 Dec 2015 15:58:35 -0800

Baltimore Ravens WR Marlon Brown (back) missed practice for the second straight day Thursday, Dec. 17.

Fantasy Tip: Brown ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) hasn't played in well over a month and is unlikely to return against the Kansas City Chiefs. Ignore him.

Ravens | Marlon Brown sits out

Wed, 16 Dec 2015 17:12:51 -0800

Baltimore Ravens WR Marlon Brown (back) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 16.

Fantasy Tip: Brown ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) was inactive for the last game and it looks like he could miss another game if he does not practice in the next few days. Owners should look for other options even if Brown is able to play.

Ravens | Crockett Gillmore, Marlon Brown doubtful

Fri, 11 Dec 2015 14:15:07 -0800

Baltimore Ravens TE Crockett Gillmore (back) and WR Marlon Brown (back) are both doubtful for Week 14 against the Seattle Seahawks.

Fantasy Tip: The Ravens have been decimated by injuries this year and are a mess on offense. Javorious Allen ($6,900, 13.8% of cap) is really the only fantasy asset worth considering on FantasyScore. Maxx Williams ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) is a deep sleeper with the Seahawks struggling against tight ends this year, but even he has been on the injury report this week.

Ravens | Marlon Brown doubtful for Week 13

Fri, 04 Dec 2015 13:44:30 -0800

Baltimore Ravens WR Marlon Brown (back) did not practice all week and is doubtful to face the Miami Dolphins in Week 13.

Fantasy Tip: The Dolphins are a prime matchup for opposing receivers, the problem is that the Ravens don't have many acceptable daily picks other than Kamar Aiken ($5,200, 10.4% of cap). Even then, you have to downgrade him somewhat now that he'll be taking passes from Matt Schaub the rest of the year.

Ravens | No practice for Marlon Brown

Thu, 03 Dec 2015 13:31:28 -0800

Baltimore Ravens WR Marlon Brown (back) did not practice Thursday, Dec. 3.

Fantasy Tip: Brown ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is looking iffy for this weekend after missing two straight days of practice. He hasn't produced much this year anyway, so look elsewhere for your FantasyScore wide receivers.

Ravens | Marlon Brown misses practice

Wed, 02 Dec 2015 16:16:03 -0800

Baltimore Ravens WR Marlon Brown (back) did not practice Wednesday, Dec. 2.

Fantasy Tip: Brown ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) has no more than three catches in a game this season and hasn't caught a pass since Nov. 15. He's useless for fantasy owners, especially with Matt Schaub at the helm for the rest of the season.

Ravens | Marlon Brown has solid game

Thu, 03 Sep 2015 21:00:03 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WR Marlon Brown caught three passes for 64 yards in a 20-19 preseason loss to Atlanta Falcons Thursday, Sept. 3.

Fantasy Tip: Brown has been slowed by injuries this preseason, but he could still end up as the No. 2 receiver across from Steve Smith. That being said, he is a late-round flier at best.

Ravens | Marlon Brown returns

Mon, 17 Aug 2015 11:45:42 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WR Marlon Brown (back, hamstring) returned to practice Monday, Aug. 17, in a limited fashion.

Fantasy Tip: The good news is that Brown finally returned to practice, although it might take some time for him to get back to full participation. Brown, Breshad Perriman and Kamar Aiken are all in the running for the Ravens' No. 2 wide receiver job behind Steve Smith. Brown shouldn't be viewed as more than a WR5 for now.

Sat, 15 Aug 2015 12:21:16 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WRs Marlon Brown (back, hamstring) and Kamar Aiken (undisclosed) did not practice Saturday, Aug. 15.

Fantasy Tip: It's unclear how long Brown and Aiken will be out of commission, but it doesn't sound like the injuries are serious. Brown and Aiken will compete with rookie Breshad Perriman, with all three of them playing behind Steve Smith. Brown and Aiken should both be viewed as a WR5.

Ravens | Marlon Brown undergoes MRI

Wed, 05 Aug 2015 09:22:08 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WR Marlon Brown (back) recently underwent an MRI for a nerve issue in his back. Head coach John Harbaugh said he is not sure when Brown will return to practice.

Fantasy Tip: Brown is one of the several candidates for the No. 2 wide receiver job, so missing time will hurt his chances for the job. He could still be a candidate if he returns to camp in the near future. Brown should have a solid role in the passing game this season and could be a late-round option in deeper leagues.

Ravens | Marlon Brown considered day-to-day

Sun, 02 Aug 2015 06:18:55 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WR Marlon Brown (back) is regarded as day-to-day.

Fantasy Tip: Brown is yet another member of the Ravens' banged up receiving corps. With the Ravens most prominent position battles coming at the position, whichever player can get healthy first may have the upper hand.

Ravens | Marlon Brown ready for the next step?

Sun, 12 Jul 2015 05:55:46 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WR Marlon Brown worked out four days a week during the offseason and watched more film than in the past. He has impressed wide receivers coach Bobby Engram, "You really saw Marlon come on strong the last half of last season, and we see the same thing in OTAs and minicamp," he said. "He's made a lot of plays, and he understands multiple positions. He's a worker and he's a technician who's learning how to continue to hone his craft." Head coach John Harbaugh also noted, "He's just a really gifted player. Like I said, I have high hopes for him. I really want to see him break out."

Fantasy Tip: Brown enters a camp battle with Breshad Perriman and Kamar Aiken for snaps, but should be the front-runner for the starting gig opposite Steve Smith. Brown's targets were slashed from 82 in his rookie year to just 31 in 2014, but he should bounce back in 2015. Also, don't rule out a significant red-zone role, which was an area he excelled in during the 2013 season. At this point, Brown is nothing more than a endgame flier with more value in standard formats.

Ravens | Marlon Brown focusing on becoming more complete

Wed, 28 May 2014 13:52:33 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WR Marlon Brown is healthy and focused on improving as a receiver heading into the 2014 season. Last offseason, Brown was rehabbing an ACL tear and wasn't as focused on the nuances of the game. He is working on every aspect of his game, including reading defensive schemes.

Fantasy Tip: Don't overvalue Brown based on 2013. There are too many mouths to feed ahead of him in the Ravens' conservative passing attack. Brown is a late-round flier in deep leagues, but is best left for the waiver wire in standard formats.
