Detroit Lions OT LaAdrian Waddle (concussion), who missed three games this year with a calf ailment, didn't practice Wednesday, Oct. 22, due to a concussion. Lions | More time for Matthew Stafford?

Sat, 04 Oct 2014 19:46:42 -0700

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford will have OT LaAdrian Waddle (calf) back in Week 5, and with Waddle healthy in Week 1, Stafford was sacked once and hit once. In three games without Waddle at right tackle, he was sacked 10 times and hit 23 times, and head coach Jim Caldwell said a majority of the sacks were a result of a breakdown at right tackle.

Fantasy Tip: Stafford's lone 300-yard game this year came with a healthy Waddle in Week 1, and his return should solidify the right side of the line. A little extra time in the pocket could lead to a big performance for Stafford in Week 5 against a Buffalo defense ranked 25th against the pass. He will take up 17% of the cap ($8,500) at FantasyScore and could be worth a look given the favorable matchup.
